Everyone else quickly noticed Wen Xu too and asked how he ended up coming over.

Wen Xu replied with composure, “I saw some people I knew and came over to say hi. What’s up?”

The guys sitting next to him chimed in excitedly, “Yeah, yeah, we’re all in the same class.”

No wonder I felt like I recognized these guys at the start—they were all from the computer science department.

“Wait, you guys are in the same class? Why didn’t you say anything just now?” someone asked.

“The class president just got here, and we did call out to him, but it was too loud, probably he didn’t hear us!” said one of the guys sitting next to Wen Xu.

Everyone naturally bought Wen Xu’s explanation, but I remained skeptical. Why greet them now and not earlier? It seemed a bit too coincidental that he moved right when I was about to kiss someone at the next table.

Just then, someone suggested, “Since Wen Xu is here already, Ning Ran, you might as well kiss him! Keep the water in your own field!”

Then, everyone started to chant in encouragement.

“Yeah, yeah, kiss Xu Ge, kiss Xu Ge!”

“Wen Xu came over, who else but him? Everyone agrees, right?”

“Ning Ran, come on, kiss him, we’re waiting!”

Damn these bandwagon jumpers! Kiss my foot!

I tried to bolt, but the crowd caught me and dragged me back. They pushed me towards Wen Xu, and amidst the shoving, I stumbled and ended up falling on him. Luckily, he caught me steadily and sat me sideways on his lap, but the situation was so chaotic that I didn’t pay attention to this odd position.

With everyone still urging me on, I had no choice but to turn my head and whisper to Wen Xu, “Let’s just fake it.”

From this angle, the crowd couldn’t see whether it was a real or a fake kiss. Wen Xu gave me an ambiguous look, then nodded.

“Don’t rush it, we’ll kiss!” I declared to the crowd before placing my hands on Wen Xu’s shoulders. Mimicking the actors in TV dramas, I slowly moved my face closer to his until our lips were just a couple of centimeters apart, then tilted my head forward to pretend to initiate a kiss.

The reaction was enthusiastic, with whistles, applause, and cheers all around, making me feel like it was a waste not to pursue acting.

“Make it more passionate, more passionate!” someone in the back yelled, pushing me forward, which resulted in me accidentally bumping into Wen Xu’s lips.

The awkwardness was palpable in that instant. Crap!

At that moment, Wen Xu looked slightly shocked, and I, too, blinked awkwardly, my eyelashes brushing against his face. The sensation on my lips felt like an electric shock, so I quickly pulled away.

It was an accident. Don’t think too much about it.

I reassured myself internally, just about to turn to the others when Wen Xu suddenly wrapped his arms around my waist, pulled me into his embrace, and, to my surprise, pressed his lips against mine, kissing me without saying a word.

“Mmm…”

This kiss was completely different from the one he stole the other day. It wasn’t rushed but gentle, as he sucked on my lips. There was no taste of alcohol, just a hint of mint, which was quite pleasant.

But… now wasn’t the time to be enchanted. After regaining my senses, I tried to push him away, but Wen Xu’s physique was much larger than mine, and I couldn’t budge him. Instead, my struggles made him deepen the kiss.

The nightclub’s dance music blared, and the surrounding screams made it hard for me to cope, my heartbeat thundering. Wen Xu’s tongue gently licked my tightly closed lips, as if knocking on a door, trying to get me to open up.

He was hoping for too much!

Although this Truth or Dare game indeed involved kissing, I was still annoyed because we had agreed it was just for show! So, while Wen Xu was sucking on my upper lip, I bit his lower lip hard.

That’ll teach this rascal!

Wen Xu indeed winced in pain and finally released my mouth, but he still looked at me with a somewhat regretful gaze.

Geez, forget it, don’t even think about it.

I gasped for air. That jerk had literally numbed my mouth. After a while, I straightened my clothes, wiped my mouth, and stood up to say to everyone, “There, are you satisfied now?”

When I returned to our table, I didn’t sit in my original seat but chose the one farthest from Wen Xu. I must say, when Wen Xu kissed me, it almost scared me to death. Good thing no one noticed anything odd, or my straight guy image would have been ruined on the spot!

The more I thought about it, the angrier I got, and the angrier I got, the more I couldn’t stand looking at Wen Xu. So, just before everyone was about to leave, I pulled Wen Xu aside in the hallway to confront him.

“Wen Xu, what was that about? Didn’t I say we were just pretending?” Although I kissed him first, it was an accident, and he should have understood that.

Wen Xu replied seriously, “Under those circumstances, pretending would have been too obvious, so a real kiss was safer.”

I was frustrated. “But you agreed to pretend!”

“Sorry.” Wen Xu paused, then said in a low voice, “If you’re still angry, why not bite me again?”

“…”

Dude, are you sick?

I felt it was pointless to continue this conversation, so I just said, “No need…” and was about to leave. However, Wen Xu stopped me, asking, “Ning Ran, can I ask you one question?”

“What?”

Wen Xu asked earnestly, “How was my kissing technique?”

This shameless jerk, getting bolder by the minute.

I calmed down and replied indifferently, “Ha, it was terrible.”

After the party, since Wen Xu and I didn’t drink much, we ended up helping a very drunk Qi Yiming and Gu Yang back to the dorm, while Duan Linze stayed at the bar, having met some acquaintances.

Back at the dorm, after settling the two drunks, I quickly showered, brushed my teeth, and went to bed! I didn’t want to interact with Wen Xu for even a second longer.

The next day was a weekend, and I slept in until nearly noon. When I checked my phone, I had several unread messages.
