CFHE Chapter 51

Recently, Fu Yuhan had cut his hair short. When Wen Yu was carrying him, as soon as he lowered his head, those brush-like distinct strands seemed about to prick across his mouth.

Too close, Wen Yu thought.

He could even smell the faint scent of shampoo in the other’s hair.

Hair, ears, even cheeks—all within kissing distance if he just turned his head slightly.

Should he kiss?

Wen Yu stood at the doorframe thinking for probably a minute.

Fu Yuhan was sleeping deeply. Being carried this distance without waking, his breath sprayed on Wen Yu’s neck, a bit ticklish. At this distance, their intertwined breaths and mutually transmitted body heat gave him an illusion of intimate closeness.

Not stealing a kiss would seem like wasting this bit of stolen tenderness.

But—

He lowered his gaze, his sight suddenly tracing along Fu Yuhan’s elongated neckline, his nose lightly sniffing.

Forget it.

This stolen bit of intimacy was enough. He didn’t want to be too indulgent.

Wen Ziming had said, “Excessive pleasure is harmful—”

Although Wen Ziming was a detestable person, Wen Yu occasionally felt his words had some merit.

He crossed the threshold line and helped the person to the bedside to lay him down. The school uniform was pressed down and pulled up a section. Wen Yu had just placed the person’s legs on the bed when he turned back to see a section of slender waist.

Wen Yu: “…”

He should probably help remove his outer pants, otherwise it would dirty the bedding…

Forget it, worst case he’d wash the bedding later.

If he had to undress someone now, Wen Yu wasn’t sure he wouldn’t take advantage of the situation.

After covering Fu Yuhan with the blanket, Wen Yu returned to the living room to continue the unfinished game.

Although… he was even more distracted now.

Fu Yuhan had only intended to nap for half an hour before getting up to watch, but unexpectedly, after turning over twice, when he opened his eyes again he saw Wen Yu’s sleeping face.

Wait, Wen Yu?

He came to his senses, his body involuntarily bouncing up slightly. His gaze quickly moved past the bed edge to see a line of light showing under the floor-length curtains.

Dawn had broken?

Fu Yuhan belatedly realized he had somehow ended up lying in bed. This time Wen Yu was even lazier than last time, not even helping him remove his outer clothes and pants.

But… that was also good, since carefully thinking about it, two gay guys helping each other undress was a bit… that.

He hadn’t expected to sleep through the entire night so defensively.

Since their last argument, recently when staying out overnight he would send a message to He Yan or Uncle Qin. Whether they replied or not, at least he had formally “reported” it.

But today…

Fu Yuhan sniffled, grabbed his hair and threw off the covers, preparing to get up and wash.

Wen Yu was someone who had trouble getting up. Today was Saturday, so he definitely wouldn’t open his eyes now. Fu Yuhan got out of bed and when passing through the living room, discovered the gaming console was still on but had entered sleep mode due to long periods without operation. His phone had fallen on the sofa. He walked over and lit up the screen—no new notifications.

Amazing.

Fu Yuhan shook his head.

It was 8 AM now. The entire house was quiet as he walked into the bathroom. The used towel and toothbrush were still there—Wen Yu apparently had no intention of throwing them away.

He remembered what he seemed to have said last night—

“If you have nowhere to go in the future, come to my place.”

Fu Yuhan lowered his gaze and chuckled softly, squeezing toothpaste onto his toothbrush.

Thinking carefully about last night’s events was a bit embarrassing. He had promised to teach Wen Yu how to play games, but ended up falling asleep on his own halfway through. This made Fu Yuhan too embarrassed to even suggest going home early.

After sleeping through the night, some stubble had grown on his chin, but razors weren’t convenient to share. He glanced at Wen Yu’s razor, sighed, and left the bathroom.

The young master used a manual one—even if he lent it to Fu Yuhan, he might not know how to use it.

The current problem was that Fu Yuhan was a bit hungry.

He wanted to stay and have breakfast with the young master, but wasn’t sure when the young master would wake up. Fu Yuhan sat on the sofa, staring at the sleeping gaming console for quite a while.

Twenty minutes later, he suddenly stood up.

…Why was he overthinking this?

So what if he woke Wen Yu up?

Fu Yuhan walked into the room, went around to Wen Yu’s side of the bed, and gently pushed: “Hey.”

“Hey… wake up…”

He pushed for quite a while before seeing Wen Yu frown and try to turn over. Fu Yuhan pressed down on his shoulder and turned him back: “Stop sleeping.”

“…”

Only then did Wen Yu open his eyes, squinting them into slits, his voice heavy with nasal congestion: “Mm?”

“Get up for breakfast?”

“…Sleepy.” Wen Yu mumbled vaguely and shifted his body backward.

“What time did you sleep?”

“Around two.”

“That’s over six hours, enough sleep for you.” Fu Yuhan glanced at the time. “What do you want to eat? I’ll make it. You can sleep a bit more, and I’ll call you when it’s ready.”

Wen Yu squinted: “Anything’s fine.”

“No picky eating or dietary restrictions?”

“Mm.”

“Okay.” Fu Yuhan nodded lightly and got up to walk to the kitchen.

Wen Yu gently turned over, his gaze following the direction he left.

Actually, Wen Yu had woken up once in the early morning.

Boys sometimes had embarrassing moments in the morning—usually just staying still was fine—but when he opened his eyes in the morning, Wen Yu saw the other’s thin shoulder blades in his pitch-black vision, and somehow felt a bit uncomfortable.

Now, Wen Yu looked at the bedroom doorway where he could no longer see the other’s back, sighed softly, pulled out his phone from under the pillow, and sent a message to Chen Feifan.

Actually, there was quite a bit of food available at Wen Yu’s place. The cooking auntie came every day, leaving plenty of ingredients in the refrigerator. He found some frozen small buns to steam, started simmering porridge, and also found some soybeans—

He should have seen a soy milk maker yesterday… Fu Yuhan looked up to open the upper cabinet.

That’s when Wen Yu appeared at the kitchen doorway. He was wearing a simple loungewear top with loose pants below, leaning against the kitchen door frame.

“Why didn’t you make a sound?” Fu Yuhan was startled when he turned around. “Why are you wearing so much? Preparing for winter?”

“I felt like wearing it.” Wen Yu didn’t elaborate, watching from a distance what Fu Yuhan was preparing to eat, not approaching.

“By the way, I need to go back for a bit later.” Fu Yuhan said. “After we finish eating.”

“Go back for what?”

Fu Yuhan pointed to his chin: “To shave, bro.”

“I have new ones here.” Wen Yu immediately turned to leave. “I’ll get one for you.”

“Wait, don’t get it.” He called out. “I don’t know how to use manual ones!”

“I’ll teach you.”

Wen Yu was a bit of a “dictator.” Usually when his rationality was online, he might discuss things with Fu Yuhan, but when half-asleep, he was an absolute commander.

The soy milk wasn’t finished yet, but he had already come over with the razor.

“Come here,” Wen Yu beckoned to him. “I remember that soy milk maker doesn’t need watching.”

“You know about this too?”

“Although I don’t go in the kitchen, I’ve at least seen the auntie use it.” After Wen Yu finished speaking, he turned around, leading Fu Yuhan to the bathroom.

“This thing looks quite sharp. I’ve never used one before.” Fu Yuhan was still worried as they entered the bathroom. “It really won’t cut me…”

“Then don’t move, I’ll shave for you.” Wen Yu said.

The bathroom space was small. Wen Yu stood beside him, carefully shaving the bit of stubble on his face. Fu Yuhan suddenly realized that Wen Yu was actually a tiny bit taller than him.

There was a vague sense of pressure, indescribable—

When the sharp blade slid across his jaw, Fu Yuhan couldn’t help but swallow.

Wen Yu’s gaze dropped, staring imperceptibly at his Adam’s apple for a second before quickly moving away, saying softly: “Don’t be nervous.”

“I can’t see…”

“You can look in the mirror.” Wen Yu licked his lips. “Or look at me.”

“…”

In this place, so close he could feel the other’s breath, saying such things could simply be called ambiguous.

Fu Yuhan held back from responding.

He didn’t have much facial hair—shaving should be a matter of minutes—but it made him experience the tension of going to the guillotine.

When he could finally wash off the shaving cream, Fu Yuhan almost fled from the bathroom: “The soy milk should be ready, I’ll go check—”

Wen Yu shook the razor and washed it clean.

He looked down, dried it, and placed it next to Fu Yuhan’s used toothbrush.

Another one.

In his space.

He suspected he was poisoned. The time spent with Fu Yuhan had changed from simple “interesting” to a love-hate torture.

They played games for another whole day until after seeing him off, when Wen Yu finally relaxed. In the evening, he took off his loungewear, changed into a shirt and casual pants, ran his hands through his hair a couple times, and leisurely left the house.

He had arranged to meet Chen Feifan at his place—

Not the quiet bar.

But the noisy one.

Proper entertainment venues opened around seven or eight in the evening. Wen Yu took a taxi with practiced ease and arrived just after nine o’clock. He entered alone through the main entrance and went to the bar to order drinks.

The guy working the bar recognized him and smiled when he saw him: “Oh, it’s Little Seven. How come you’re up front today?”

“I have an appointment with Big Brother,” Wen Yu glanced at him, “give me a whiskey.”

“This is a legitimate establishment, we don’t sell to minors.” The guy lifted his chin. “If you want to drink, go to the back. Boss Chen’s wine cellar is back there, you can drink whatever you want.”

“I’m of age, okay?” Wen Yu speechlessly pulled out his ID. “I knew you’d say that, so I brought it. Here.”

Wen Yu had just turned eighteen before summer vacation.

“No wonder, I was wondering why you came up front.” The guy looked at it and smiled. “Then I’ll pour you one—what are you here for today?”

“If I said I came looking for a one-night stand, would you believe me?” Wen Yu glanced at him.

“No.”

Wen Yu thought to himself that he didn’t believe it either.

But he suspected he might be sexually frustrated lately, which is why he came to find Chen Feifan—

For a hookup?

Not really.

But he felt he might need Big Brother to introduce him to a proper partner, because among their group, only Big Brother had a stable boyfriend.

Maybe the senior would have more experience… perhaps?

The whiskey was pushed in front of him. Wen Yu picked it up and drained it in one gulp.
