For other celebrities in the entertainment industry, the promotional opportunity on Huazhen’s LED screens and the backing of Rongjia Group was an excellent chance to boost their careers. Who wouldn’t want their endorsement video played on a loop in the central business districts of major cities?
Never mind those already famous artists; even if a newcomer to the industry landed the holographic endorsement, having their promotional video broadcast daily in the city’s central business district could probably propel them to stardom.
Therefore, such an opportunity was not only coveted by many artists in the entertainment industry but also by Mu Yanche’s System.
The System was inherently an emotionless machine, only straightforwardly making its host complete tasks in exchange for rewards. Ever since the plotline collapsed, its energy had grown increasingly weak.
It didn’t care about the feasibility of the task, only that this endorsement could help it acquire more Likability Points to replenish its energy.
Moreover, all of Mu Yanche’s skills were redeemed from the System. Over the years, taking shortcuts from the System to handle his stage performances had made Mu Yanche psychologically dependent on it. Rongjia’s endorsement was undoubtedly a huge supplement of Likability Points, and the System naturally wouldn’t let this opportunity go.
The System’s cold, mechanical voice sounded: 【Side quest detected. Host, please secure the Rongjia holographic endorsement and ascend to the throne of a top-tier celebrity as soon as possible.】
After the System had reminded him for the third time, Mu Yanche finally couldn’t help but speak up, “Rongjia, Rongjia, how do you expect me to compete? By relying on Yi Jingming, who’s in prison? Have you forgotten the relationship between Mu Yanxi and Yi Wulan?”
Although Mu Yanche had been tempted when the news broke, according to the plot he knew, Yi Jingming should have been in control of Rongjia’s entertainment division by now. If a product like Rongjia’s needed promotion, it would most likely fall into Yi Jingming’s hands, and he should have been the undisputed spokesperson.
But now… Mu Yanche asked again, “Have you found out the reason yet? Why did the plotline change after I returned to the country? How am I supposed to complete missions if the plot isn’t even accurate? As the System of this world, don’t you know the reason at all?”
【System analyzing… System analyzing…】
The mechanical noise buzzed for half an hour before it resumed: 【Analysis complete. Everything is normal.】
“Everything is normal?” Mu Yanche sneered. “Then why has it become like this?”
【Excessive energy use has caused a deviation in the plot. Host, please remain calm, complete more missions, and become the heartthrob winner soon.】
“What do you mean?”
The System was just a cold machine and replied again: 【Excessive energy use has caused a deviation in the plot.】
Only then did Mu Yanche recall the changes he had once made to this book world. Although he was a transmigrator, it was different from previous transmigrations.
This book world was tailor-made for him. He had experienced everything about this identity from birth; if he left, the character would cease to exist.
Because of this, Mu Yanche had always been very confident in himself, even using the System’s energy to change many plotlines before going abroad.
For example, he had brought about the Mu parents’ death earlier, and instead of becoming a fake young master more outstanding than the real young miss as per the plot, he had spent all his time bullying the real young miss.
To the System, these actions were harmless. As long as the plot’s general direction was correct and there were enough Likability Points, it was naturally willing to help Mu Yanche with these small favors.
But unexpectedly, after Mu Yanche returned to the country, the plotline had collapsed into a mess.
Unable to detect any other anomalies, the System could only attribute the cause of all these deviations to Mu Yanche.
Since coming to this world, Mu Yanche had never been in such a difficult situation. He paced around the dressing room several times before finally answering, “Help me perform well at the New Year’s Eve concert, and I’ll have the capital to get my fans to fight for it. So don’t you dare mess up then.”
The System beeped twice in agreement.
Just then, Mu Yanche’s manager pushed the door open and saw that he hadn’t changed into his practice clothes yet. He urged, “Oh, my dear young master, why haven’t you changed into your practice clothes? The three members of f.w.s have already arrived. Are you going to make them wait for you?”
Mu Yanche ran a hand through his hair. To build momentum for the New Year’s Eve concert, he had specifically sought out several popular stars who had returned from T Country last year, planning to team up with them on stage to create buzz.
The group f.w.s had only three Chinese members. After they disbanded last year, the three returned to the country. However, they had never shared a stage since their return, a classic case of two kings never meeting in the domestic entertainment scene.
Once they performed at the concert, the combined heat from their fanbases would be concentrated, and Mu Yanche, the ‘senior who reunited for the sake of a favored junior,’ would be able to coast to victory.
To collaborate with them and ride on their popularity, Mu Yanche had spent a considerable amount of Likability Points to increase their favorability towards him. Now, if he had to train, he would have to spend extra Likability Points to redeem singing and dancing skills, which felt like the loss would outweigh the gain.
Mu Yanche thought for a moment and immediately came up with a comprehensive plan. Fearlessly, he didn’t even change out of his tight-fitting clothes and went straight to the practice room.
During the two-hour training session, Mu Yanche spent almost the entire time on his phone, merely walking through his positions. Yet, because of the favorability the System had forced upon them, the other popular artists didn’t utter a single word of complaint.
They even expressed concern for Mu Yanche’s health when they finished:
“Xiao Yan, it must be so hard for you to train with us when you’re not feeling well.”
“Yeah, it’s just a New Year’s Eve concert. It’s okay if you don’t go. How about I invite you to be a special guest at my concert next time?”
“You must rest well today and perform well tomorrow.”
Mu Yanche nodded, but then put on a pained, forced smile. “Don’t worry, big brothers. I’ll practice hard once I feel a bit better. It’s just that I haven’t had much exposure since returning to the country. If I don’t perform well, I might not get another chance. Maybe I just lack a bit of luck.”
His words immediately filled the other three with righteous indignation, and they all declared that they had his back.
If you don’t have luck, then create it.
Mu Yanche had been a little uncertain about the System’s now-reduced energy. To his surprise, not long after the three left the training room, they each posted on Weibo, sending him to the top of the hot search list:
【My little brother is persisting with training despite his injury. It reminds me of my own past struggles. The harder you work, the luckier you get. Hope tomorrow’s performance goes smoothly @Yanche】
Previously, marketing accounts had already revealed that the three f.w.s members, who had gone solo and returned to the country a year ago, would reunite to perform at the New Year’s Eve concert. After returning, the three had developed separately in stage performance, variety shows, and film, and fans had been clamoring for a reunion to no avail.
The moment this news broke, Weibo exploded:
【Ahhh, something I never thought I’d see in my lifetime! Are my three big brothers finally going to share a stage again?】
【This is really a post from my big brother, not a marketing account baiting us, right? I’m so tired of being led on.】
【Am I the only one who noticed that all three big brothers tagged Yanche? Isn’t that the guy who just returned to the country a few days ago?】
【The three big brothers are reuniting for a junior? Okay, big brothers, I’m going to follow him right now.】
【Here I come, here I come! Thanks to the three big brothers for taking care of Yanche.】
【Let me recommend Yanche to you all. Cheche debuted three years ago with the top score among a hundred trainees. The solo album he released this year even hit number one on T Country’s new singer chart.】
【My heart aches for Cheche. He has to keep practicing even when he’s sick. Take care of yourself! You will definitely shine!】
A large portion of domestic fans already loved the stages from T Country. With the combined forces of several fan groups, the hashtags #YancheGroup’sFavorite# and #f.w.s’sAffection# quickly climbed to the top of the entertainment hot search list.
The hot searches Mu Yanche had bought in China over the past few months had never received a good response. Every time, even with fans helping to control the comments, he still had to hire some paid online commenters to manage the situation.
This time, with the help of the other three popular artists, even the haters were spontaneously suppressed by the fans. Mu Yanche finally felt a sense of vindication, as if he had regained some ground.
Normal popularity was one thing, but at this juncture when Rongjia had announced its search for a spokesperson, popularity was directly linked to competing for the endorsement. As long as he had enough traffic, even if Rongjia’s management was unwilling, they would have no choice but to hire him.
Mu Yanche was suddenly eager to act. He immediately had his manager hire paid commenters to fish in troubled waters and ride the endorsement wave.
Thus, the hot search topic #YancheEndorser# emerged out of nowhere.
Less than twenty-four hours had passed since Rongjia announced its search for a spokesperson for its holographic product. Although countless artists were interested, no one had explicitly stated their intention to compete. The biggest splash before this was Mu Yanxi denying her participation in the competition.
After all, those who could compete were all famous and popular artists in the entertainment industry. If they failed to win, it would more or less make them seem inferior, like they were just a stepping stone for someone else.
But as soon as Mu Yanche’s hot search topic appeared, it brought the competition out into the open. Other artists, who had been indifferent when they saw f.w.s promoting Yanche, instantly became agitated when they saw his ambition was so great that he wanted Rongjia’s endorsement.
Just as Mu Yanxi had been besieged when the news of the endorsement first came out, a massive fight instantly erupted. Everyone became passive-aggressive, especially since no other artist had stepped forward. They all used Mu Yanxi’s refusal to mock Yanche:
【LMAO, where does Yanche get the confidence to think he can land the holographic endorsement?】
【Oh, isn’t Yanche that fraud who bought hot searches for three months and still has zero appeal to the general public?】
【I’d accept it if it were any other celebrity with actual talent, but on what grounds does an import like Yanche, with zero achievements in China, get to endorse a local brand?】
【I don’t know if I should say this, but something Mu Yanxi rejected, Yanche is desperately trying to get and can’t even have, lol.】
【The person above spoke the truth, hahaha.】
The hot search feed was a chaotic mess. The most frustrating part was that Mu Yanxi had indeed clearly stated she would not compete for Rongjia’s endorsement, and no matter how aggrieved Yanche’s fans were, they couldn’t refute this fact.
But Yanche had, after all, just been tagged by the three artists from f.w.s, and had absorbed some of their fans. These popular artists’ fans had been through countless online battles and were full of tricks. After contacting Mu Yanche’s management team, they immediately came up with a plan.
Mu Yanche revealing his intention to snatch the endorsement was what infringed upon the interests of other artists and caused their dissatisfaction.
In that case, didn’t Mu Yanxi, who disdained the endorsement, slap the faces of all the stars who wanted to compete for it even harder?
It didn’t matter if Mu Yanxi didn’t dare to compete for the endorsement, or if it was for some other reason.
In short, as long as they amplified the idea that Mu Yanxi wanted the entire entertainment industry to be her stepping stone, they could definitely divert the attention.
And so, one of Yanche’s major fans suddenly posted a long essay:
【Please, everyone, be harmonious and don’t argue. Don’t attract haters for Cheche. Cheche worked so hard to terminate his contract with the T Country agency and return to the embrace of his motherland, all with the intention of bringing more and better performances to everyone. Please don’t instigate conflict. We respect all artists and understand Teacher Mu Yanxi’s decision to voluntarily withdraw from the competition to avoid hogging the spotlight. Cheche has always been a down-to-earth person, and his strength and time will prove everything…】
The entire post seemed reasonable on the surface, but it was dripping with passive-aggressive sarcasm.
Spanning several hundred words from beginning to end, the core point was: Mu Yanxi was deliberately using the excuse of not hogging the spotlight, while Yanche was competing with his down-to-earth strength.
It even listed Yanche’s achievements since his debut in detail.
Once the major fan set the pace, other fans immediately followed suit, reposting and elaborating on Yanche’s achievements in T Country. They all declared that winning an endorsement depended on strength, not on someone putting on a show by playing the piano.
This directly ignited the flames of war. Mu Yanxi’s Weibo page, which had just quieted down, was once again subjected to unprovoked attacks.
The comments from Yanche’s fans seemed calm and reasonable, but each one was extremely disrespectful. They even suppressed the comments from Mu Yanxi’s regular anti-fans at the top, filling the section with ‘greetings’ from Yanche’s fans.
Furthermore, a staff member from the concert had previously claimed that Rongjia was the biggest sponsor of this New Year’s Eve concert, and that equipment related to holographic technology was used for both the stage effects and the seating below.
Whether Rongjia was doing it for advertising or to select a spokesperson, this concert was undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to showcase one’s strength. Yanche’s fans, as if injected with chicken blood, attacked Mu Yanxi relentlessly.
When Mu Yanxi finished rehearsing the concert performance with the cast of 《Peach Blossom Debt》 and was on her way back to Rongjia, she decided to check the hot searches for any new gossip, only to find her Weibo had been overrun.
Beneath her latest post, there was a uniform sea of Weibo accounts with Yanche’s avatar. For a moment, Mu Yanxi almost thought she had accidentally clicked on Yanche’s Weibo page.
These fans deliberately didn’t change their avatars or switch to alternate accounts. They were intentionally using their avatars to disgust people, a clear show of force against Mu Yanxi.
Mu Yanxi understood this principle well; after all, in the past two years, she had never secretly used an alternate account to clap back at people.
When it comes to scolding people, what’s the point of an alternate account when your main one is so much more satisfying?
Mu Yanxi was, at the very least, a minor celebrity who had been smeared for over two years. This wasn’t the first time she had experienced such a scene. She immediately realized something had happened, and after a tour of the hot search list, she understood the whole story.
She could tolerate other artists, but not Mu Yanche. She was about to use her main account to curse back.
But as she took a closer look at the comments, she froze for a few seconds, almost thinking she was hallucinating.
It was common knowledge that Mu Yanxi had no fans. Therefore, for the past two years, it had always been her scolding others, and she had never imagined someone would speak up for her.
But this time, it was an exception.
It started with that group of die-hard anti-fans who treated Mu Yanxi’s Weibo as their happy internet surfing spot. After Mu Yanxi said she wouldn’t compete for Rongjia’s endorsement, they thought of QT’s outrageous contract termination fee and wanted to persuade her again.
After all, Mu Yanxi had plenty of scandals already. What did it matter if she went back on her word? Money was more important.
But when they clicked into Mu Yanxi’s Weibo, they didn’t see a pretty selfie of the little flower vase, but rather a screen full of Yanche’s avatars.
What the hell was this?
Who gave them permission to pollute their eyes?
Did they think they could just come and act unruly because Mu Yanxi had no fans?
Didn’t they know Mu Yanxi still had anti-fans?
Even they, the veterans, hadn’t spoken yet. On what grounds were Yanche’s fans slandering Mu Yanxi?
Anyone who hadn’t been flaming the little flower vase for two years didn’t deserve to run wild here, okay?
And so, the two groups quickly started to tear into each other.
Mu Yanxi’s anti-fans, who usually argued with Mu Yanxi herself, were now fighting other fans on a large scale for the first time. They were all pumped up like they were on steroids, using their accumulated art of language to seize the top spots in the comments under Yanche’s fans’ posts, deploying all eighteen kinds of martial arts.
Yanche’s fan: 【Teacher Mu, we understand your feelings about not competing for the Rongjia endorsement, but we hope you can come forward and clarify, instead of letting our Cheche, a popular candidate, be your stepping stone.】
Mu Yanxi’s anti-fan retorted: [Whatever Mu Yanxi says, goes? Mu Yanxi said she never wears fakes, you see anyone taking that seriously? Mu Yanxi said I’m your dad, so does that make me your dad?]
Yanche’s fan: 【We don’t want to start a conflict with Teacher Mu’s fans. We ask Mu Yanxi’s fans not to bully people.】
Mu Yanxi’s anti-fan retorted: [Watch your mouth and don’t curse. Who gave you permission to call me a Mu Yanxi fan?]
…
The combat power of Mu Yanxi’s anti-fans was astonishing. They completely stunned Yanche’s fans, who soon dropped their friendly masks and the fight grew more and more intense, with them resorting to direct insults:
【LMAO, who doesn’t know Mu Yanxi is just too scared to compete, so she deliberately said she wouldn’t participate to create a sense of superiority, as if the whole entertainment industry is her stepping stone? She’s a good-for-nothing who can’t do anything, where does she get her confidence? Does she really think she can do whatever she wants just because she played the piano once?】
[LMAO, who doesn’t know Yanche has no talent, so he bought hot searches for three whole months to create buzz and give the illusion that he’s a top-tier star? Do people in T Country not know what ratings are, or are they unfamiliar with so many official government Weibo accounts? Just based on the things the little flower vase has done that went viral, even if she’s good-for-nothing, she’s reached a height your big brother will never reach in his lifetime.]
Reading this, Mu Yanxi felt a little miffed and personally replied to this anti-fan’s comment: 【What do you mean good-for-nothing, am I not good-looking?】
With this reply, the anti-fans in the comment section stopped fighting with Yanche’s fans and all turned to reply to her, their comments shooting up like a rocket:
【Do I have to teach you the principle that children shouldn’t interrupt when adults are talking?】
【You’ve been lurking for so long and this is your reply? Daddy knows you’re young and ignorant, but people are talking about actual achievements right now, can you put your beauty aside for a moment?】
【So you do know you’re good-looking? Do you know it’s been 19 days, 14 hours, 7 minutes, and 44 seconds since you last posted a selfie?】
【Who cares what you can do, I only care that my top comment was pushed down by Yanche’s fans!】
【You’re usually so good at arguing with us, right? Now you’re just going to let them bully you in your own house?】
【Have you arranged for fan support for your New Year’s Eve concert? Hurry up and transfer me ten thousand, I’ll do it for you. I’ll take on anyone who shows up.】
Mu Yanxi: …
Who asked you to make fan support materials?
Do you really think everyone needs that stuff?
Sorry, not reporting you to the police for extortion is already giving you enough face.
Chen Xu parked the car at the villa entrance. Mu Yanxi got out and immediately pushed the Weibo matters to the back of her mind. Let them fight if they wanted to. If Mu Yanche wanted to be in the spotlight so badly, it would depend on whether his System could give him that chance.
The more the situation fermented, the less confident Mu Yanche’s fans became in their arguments, especially since they were the ones who started the trouble. Since they failed to drag Mu Yanxi, who had rejected Rongjia, into the mud, it meant they had to face a group assault from the fans of other artists who hadn’t openly competed for the endorsement before.
Before long, the hot search topic related to Mu Yanche’s endorsement was filled with curses and toxic comments. Even though the fans who had gone to Mu Yanxi’s Weibo rushed back to save the situation, it was beyond rescue.
The moment Mu Yanche got into the car after leaving the training building, he threw his phone in anger.
Seeing this, his manager comforted him, “What are you throwing a tantrum for? I told you not to be so high-profile about snatching the endorsement. You know how many people in the domestic entertainment industry are watching you. Besides, Mu Yanxi isn’t even on the same path as you, what are you so upset about? Once the New Year’s Eve concert starts, a flower vase like Mu Yanxi will be exposed without you even having to lift a finger.”
Mu Yanche sneered, “Don’t push all the blame onto me. I’m not a newcomer who’s on his first day in the entertainment industry. You were tempted by that endorsement hot search just now, weren’t you?”
The manager was at a loss for words and forced himself to calm down. “Alright, alright, let’s just focus on preparing for the New Year’s Eve concert. You barely rehearsed just now. If something goes wrong, it’ll be a huge embarrassment.”
Mu Yanche browsed Weibo on his alternate account and said contemptuously, “It’s impossible for anything to go wrong, don’t worry.”
The manager recalled Mu Yanche’s flawless performances in T Country and relaxed a little, thinking that Mu Yanche wouldn’t joke about his own future. So, he contacted a few influential and friendly marketing accounts to steer the narrative for Mu Yanche and had the hot search about the endorsement taken down.
But the hot search had already been fermenting for a while. Even though they removed it now, they still received a lot of criticism. Not only did he fail to gain the Likability Points and public approval for the endorsement as he had originally expected, but even the Weibo post where f.w.s had given him a boost gradually lost its heat under the attack of these fans.
Mu Yanxi spent the afternoon practicing the piano in the training room. Although the other actors in the 《Peach Blossom Debt》 cast had long seen through her proud and awkward nature, she maintained a noble and aloof persona throughout the entire afternoon of rehearsal.
But that aloofness was halved when she saw her anti-fans fighting for her on Weibo. And when she returned home and saw Yi Wulan, she completely revealed her true colors, righteously commanding Yi Wulan to feed her during dinner.
Her fine-sounding excuse was: Teacher Mu worked hard all afternoon, her precious hands need a rest.
Hearing this, Yi Wulan felt both annoyed and amused, but she didn’t refuse Mu Yanxi. With a serious face that looked ready to negotiate a ten-billion-dollar deal at any moment, she fed the little ancestor spoonful by spoonful.
As a result, the one who became embarrassed was Mu Yanxi herself.
Aren’t young couples supposed to be tender and sweet when they feed each other?
Why was it that in her case, it felt like a child being force-fed by a parent? As if she didn’t open her mouth, she would be scolded in the next second.
Mu Yanxi couldn’t last more than a few bites before timidly taking the chopsticks back herself.
But this quiet didn’t last for more than a few minutes before Yi Wulan suddenly asked, “Were you targeted again today?”
Mu Yanxi: …
Mu Yanxi didn’t even have to guess. It must have been Gu Yan, that money-grubbing tattletale, who told Yi Wulan what had happened on her Weibo.
She thought about her anti-fans fighting for her on Weibo. It would be a lie to say she wasn’t moved, but that didn’t stop her from holding a grudge for the two years she had been slandered.
After all, the thing Miss Mu the Second was best at since she was a child was holding a grudge.
Especially after being reborn, this skill was practically carved into her bones.
But Mu Yanche just had to keep running into her. Thinking of the upcoming New Year’s Eve concert, Mu Yanxi’s smile deepened, and she murmured in a low voice, “Mmm…”
Her tone was very gentle, as if the matter was truly resolved and she was genuinely pleased.
Yi Wulan didn’t believe her and asked again, “But weren’t you criticized after you withdrew from the competition for the holographic spokesperson?”
“It’s fine,” Mu Yanxi said casually. “Mu Yanche tried to drag me down, but my anti… fans scolded them back.”
Yi Wulan never got involved in entertainment industry matters. To her, if Rongjia Entertainment hadn’t been a subsidiary of Rongjia Group before she took over, she probably wouldn’t pay any attention to the entertainment circle at all.
Therefore, Yi Wulan only paid attention to Rongjia Entertainment when it was time to approve their budget requests.
She didn’t know the twists and turns of the entertainment industry, so she asked directly, “If not taking the endorsement will cause problems, why don’t you just take it?”
Mu Yanxi shook her head and slowly sipped her soup. “I don’t want to take this for now. Besides, if the holographic endorsement is given to another artist with more influence and appeal, it would be more of a win-win, right?”
After thinking for a moment, she added, playing along with Yi Wulan, “At least I can’t take it proactively.”
Mu Yanxi had a clear understanding of herself. No matter how much her fans created buzz, she couldn’t compete with those traffic stars.
So she definitely wouldn’t end up in the embarrassing situation of taking the holographic endorsement and then having her connection with Rongjia discovered.
Yi Wulan studied her face for two seconds, frowning. “But…”
“Alright, alright, I’m helping you think of ways to make more money, and you’re still talking so much nonsense.” Mu Yanxi fed Yi Wulan a mouthful of food, instantly shutting her up.
The dining room was suddenly filled with only the sound of cutlery. Yi Wulan stopped asking, but Mu Yanxi couldn’t stay quiet for more than a few seconds. She racked her brain for a topic and actually thought of a suitable one.
She brought it up casually, “By the way, my manager asked me if I want to get some tickets for the New Year’s Eve concert for friends and family.”
Yi Wulan answered without thinking, “Then go ask Mu Yanqing.”
Mu Yanxi: …
Oh, couldn’t she have hesitated for a moment for Teacher Mu’s sake, and then pretended to say ‘I’m busy with official duties and have no time to go’?
“Forget it. If my sister goes, Mu Yanche will probably stir up trouble again, which would be even more of a hassle.”
Yi Wulan nodded. Prompted by Mu Yanxi, she also remembered something and asked, “Mu Yanche trained in T Country for so many years. Will your performance tomorrow night be okay?”
Mu Yanxi knew Yi Wulan was concerned about her, but it was one thing to be questioned by netizens; how could Yi Wulan question her?
No matter how bad Teacher Mu’s stage performance was, Yi Wulan could only praise her.
There was no second option.
Oh, actually, there was.
And that was divorce.
So, Mu Yanxi slammed her chopsticks down and stood up, looking down at Yi Wulan.
“Question, question, don’t you know how famous Teacher Mu is? Do you think a small company like your Rongjia can just casually ride on my popularity?”
“You think Mu Yanche can just casually overshadow me? You actually believe in him more than you believe in me?”
“Yi Wulan, you’re finished. Tell me the truth, do you really like Mu Yanche, and you’re still bitter that you couldn’t marry him for so many… Mmph!”
Before the word ‘years’ could fully leave her mouth, Yi Wulan, who had been sitting beside her, suddenly stood up. As the plates and bowls on the table clattered to the floor, Mu Yanxi was blinded by the chandelier above.
The kiss on her lips was fierce and urgent, as if to punish her for her unrestrained speech. Yi Wulan even deliberately didn’t hold back her sharp teeth, and her cool lips gradually grew fiery hot.
Mu Yanxi finally realized her situation. Half of the dishes on the long dining table had been swept away. She was pressed against the smooth, hard surface of the table, a hint of coolness spreading across her back, but the kiss on her lips was so fierce it was as if it wanted to devour her like food.
The commotion in the dining room quickly attracted the family’s maid. The maid had just glanced in from the doorway when she immediately turned and hurried away, even thoughtfully closing the dining room door for them.
Mu Yanxi had already been intimate with Yi Wulan. She thought she could accept anything of this nature by now, that even using toys wouldn’t make her feel ashamed.
But now, being forcibly pressed against the dining table and kissed, she was incredibly shy. She whimpered and pushed at Yi Wulan’s shoulder, broken syllables escaping her lips, “Mmm… don’t…”
But in the next second, the light from above was mostly blocked out. Yi Wulan’s hair scattered across her face and shoulders. At the same time, Yi Wulan’s hand gripped her waist tightly, causing her to go limp instantly. Her pushing hands turned into a weak grasp on the fabric of Yi Wulan’s shoulder.
The kiss gradually moved from her lips to Mu Yanxi’s sensitive ear. Yi Wulan’s lowered voice sounded by her ear, each word causing a shiver to run through Mu Yanxi. “You really don’t want the holographic endorsement, huh?”
Mu Yanxi was dizzy from the kiss, only able to feel the voice and breath, not hearing what Yi Wulan said at all. She asked blankly, “Wh-what?”
“What if Mu Yanche has the most buzz by then?” Yi Wulan asked her. “Should Rongjia hire him as the spokesperson too?”
Mu Yanxi: …
Mu Yanxi snapped out of her desire-filled haze, staring at Yi Wulan as if she’d seen a ghost. She fiercely bit Yi Wulan’s cheek. “Then I’ll blacklist him before he can take the endorsement!”
Yi Wulan knew Mu Yanxi never liked to use her privileges. She couldn’t bear to blame her for her confident expression, and simply lowered her lips to Mu Yanxi’s again. “Okay.”
The sounds from the dining room continued intermittently for nearly an hour before ending. The door’s soundproofing was excellent, so the noise didn’t travel outside. But the maid waiting to clean up still thoughtfully returned to her own room.
When the door opened, the maid heard the noise and came out of her room.
She saw Mu Yanxi, face flushed, push the door open with a blank expression and offer a feigned explanation, “Yi Wulan, the illness in your brain is getting worse and worse. How can you not even hold your chopsticks steady and knock over so many plates and bowls?”
Yi Wulan was half a step behind Mu Yanxi. Seeing the little ancestor’s trembling legs as she tried to act calm, she accepted the blame. “Mm, I’ll see a doctor.”
As the maid entered the dining room, Yi Wulan watched Mu Yanxi’s legs tremble with every step and finally couldn’t resist scooping her up and carrying her upstairs.
Mu Yanxi didn’t bother to struggle, peacefully enjoying Yi Wulan’s after-sales service.
Even after being set down in the bathroom, Mu Yanxi’s legs hadn’t recovered. She struggled to take off her pants for a long time, finally hitting the towel hanging nearby in frustration.
As Yi Wulan was about to leave the bathroom, she heard the sound and turned back, only to see Mu Yanxi with her head down, tugging at her pants that wouldn’t come off.
The little flower peacock wore thin spring and autumn pants even in the dead of winter. Who knew what fabric these pants were made of, but after being hastily pulled on in the dining room, they seemed to have stuck to her skin.
Mu Yanxi’s whole body was still flushed with a lingering pink from their passion. Bathed in the warm yellow light of the bathroom, even the moisture clinging to her eyelashes was extremely obvious, looking pitiful yet alluring.
Yi Wulan’s fingers, hanging at her sides, curled slightly. After a few seconds, she calmly walked over and asked, “Shall I help you?”
The two had already fooled around in the dining room, so Mu Yanxi didn’t think much of it. She gave a soft hum of assent, obediently letting go and allowing Yi Wulan to bend down. Yi Wulan’s long fingers landed on her waistband, and Mu Yanxi leaned herself slightly against Yi Wulan.
Because of the bending motion, Mu Yanxi’s hair brushed faintly against the exposed skin on the back of Yi Wulan’s neck. On that smooth patch of skin, there were still red marks left by Mu Yanxi from the previous night.
Mu Yanxi leaned back unnaturally, not wanting her gaze to fall on them.
But her leg, which she had just lifted, was still trembling. This movement made her lose her balance, and she slipped and fell backward.
Fortunately, Yi Wulan was quick-eyed and swift-handed, catching her and stopping her fall. The few red marks on her leg were a defiant stimulus to the eyes. Yi Wulan could no longer hold back and pushed her into the bathtub.
Mu Yanxi: …
Water from the faucet began to pour continuously into the tub, soaking Mu Yanxi’s clothes. A startled cry escaped her lips, “Yi Wulan! What are you doing!”
“Yi Wulan, I have to perform on stage tomorrow! You may not care about your reputation, but I care about mine! Do you want me to be unable to walk in front of so many people?”
“I have to walk a bit to play the piano, you…”
