Caught completely off guard, Ji Chenxi didn’t even react the moment the kiss landed on his lips.
The touch was scorching, and a sharp wave of tequila hit his nose, trying to cloud his mind and trap him in a drunken haze. But Ji Chenxi, young yet no stranger to drinking in private, would barely get tipsy. Trying to use alcohol to dull him would only make him more alert.
He didn’t know what kind of madness Chi Zhuo was in. Riding on that slight intoxication, Chi Zhuo leaned in for a couple more kisses, savoring Ji Chenxi’s lost first kiss like it was a prize.
An alpha’s kiss wasn’t soft or gentle; it had nothing to do with tender or innocent affection. It was raw, aggressive, and full of intent. Chi Zhuo, the moment his lips touched that delicate skin, seemed determined to claim territory—filling the air, erasing any trace of alcohol that wasn’t his own from Ji Chenxi’s mouth.
Chi Zhuo was clearly in the susceptibility period, and he had even taken suppressant beforehand. But the calm brought by the suppressant barely lasted; just seeing Ji Chenxi was enough to break him down. He had come to a secluded corner, hoping to calm the sudden surge of desire on his own, yet Ji Chenxi’s presence drew him in against his will.
Chi Zhuo’s previous restraint—managing to speak several sentences without losing control—was already a testament to his willpower. Now, holding Ji Chenxi in his arms, inhaling the faint rose scent from his lips, he had no intention of letting this willing little prince slip away.
A trace of Ji Chenxi’s pheromones sparked a fiercer craving. A simple kiss wasn’t enough. Chi Zhuo lightly probed with his tongue, wanting to break past the barrier of lips and teeth and truly take in Ji Chenxi’s scent.
Ji Chenxi didn’t fight back at first. He let the kiss happen, letting himself briefly enjoy the idea of a lost first kiss. But as Chi Zhuo made his move with his tongue, Ji Chenxi no longer indulged. Before it could slide into his mouth, he grabbed Chi Zhuo firmly, yanking him away and creating distance in one strong motion.
Not long ago, his eyes had been full of laughter, but now they were icy, sharp, and slow as he spoke: “Chi Zhuo, you’re finished.”
His words, cold and deliberate, dripped with threat. Yet the one whose life he held didn’t hold back a soft, low laugh.
Chi Zhuo had gotten exactly what he wanted with that kiss, and his mind felt clearer than ever.
He wasn’t intimidated by Ji Chenxi’s anger at all. On the contrary, he had an excuse ready, calmly explaining, “It’s the prince who refused to release his pheromones. I had no choice but to take them myself.”
Ji Chenxi’s gaze stayed cold and unflinching.
Getting nothing but a frosty look, Chi Zhuo asked quietly, “So… why does the prince look so displeased?”
Ji Chenxi almost laughed at the absurdity. Displeased? He had just been forcefully kissed by an alpha—was he supposed to be happy about that?
He tightened his hold, yet his voice stayed elegant and slow, carrying the pride of someone in control: “Do you think I should react any other way?”
Chi Zhuo tilted his head slightly, undeterred, “May I ask the prince a question before discussing this matter?”
Ji Chenxi, already calculating how to eliminate this guy without leaving a trace, let out a faint, dismissive hum. He granted this polite question a chance to be asked outright: “A dying wish? Go on, then.”
Fearless of death, Chi Zhuo tapped Ji Chenxi’s lips with a finger and asked, “Is this your first kiss, Your Highness?”
He showed no awareness that his own neck was being held, and his voice carried a trace of faint amusement. Even this question wasn’t really a question—it sounded more like a statement, a casual confirmation.
Damn it.
Ji Chenxi’s face remained impassive, but his grip tightened, and the carefully trimmed, rounded fingertips dug into Chi Zhuo’s skin. Blood mixed with the scent of tequila seeped from the back of Chi Zhuo’s neck.
Chi Zhuo knew he had struck a nerve. The prince’s anger, once simmering at six or seven out of ten, had likely jumped straight to ten.
Ji Chenxi was furious. And yet Chi Zhuo still had the audacity to speak. Here he was—someone who had kept himself pure, whose first kiss had obediently stayed with him—suddenly kissed by an alpha for no reason, and the alpha even dared to joke about it being his first kiss.
Just as Ji Chenxi was about to strike, a broad, steady hand landed gently on his head—half as a comfort, half as proof of innocence.
“This is my first kiss too.”
Ever since that day he woke up, Bai Han had already come to him, confessing and apologizing. So Chi Zhuo knew exactly what was going on with him now. The pheromones in his glands—whose could they be, if not the person who once bit him there, trying to mark and humiliate him?
In Chi Zhuo’s original plan, once he dealt with those people who dared cross the line, the first person he intended to find was Ji Chenxi. Whether he’d planned to kill him or just teach him a brutal lesson… that part was now hard to tell.
But thinking about it carefully, it was probably more likely he’d wanted to give him a lesson instead. Ji Chenxi, as an alpha, might’ve had some fun teasing him—but after all, Chi Zhuo had been the one who pinned him against the wall, stunned by that one striking glance.
Ji Chenxi could feel the alcohol burning at the back of his neck, the heat spreading up his skin. His face flushed, and the cool night air only made it worse.
“First kiss or not, that’s not the point,” he said evenly, though his words carried a teasing edge. “What I’d like to know is—why did Brother Chi suddenly kiss me? Don’t tell me my charm’s so strong that even an alpha can’t help falling for me, to the point of forcing a kiss?”
His tone sounded like he was joking, but his voice was cold.
From the very first moment they met, Chi Zhuo had mistaken him for an omega. And now, who knew—maybe this man was planning to return the favor by treating him like one again.
That thought alone chilled Ji Chenxi’s gaze.
Of course Chi Zhuo knew the kiss was out of line. He’d wanted to take things slow, hold himself back—but the second Ji Chenxi was right there in front of him, all his restraint shattered like glass.
The small black mamba coiled around Chi Zhuo’s shoulder stirred, catching the faint scent of blood from its master. It slithered along his neck, flicking its dark tongue across the wound. When the snake’s tongue brushed over Chi Zhuo’s skin, Ji Chenxi’s hand trembled slightly—but he still didn’t let go.
They were too close. The faint trace of rose he’d tasted moments ago felt like poison to Chi Zhuo—sweet, addictive, and deadly. The nearness only made the craving inside him flare hotter.
Chi Zhuo let out a heavy breath, the sound laced with restraint and rough longing.
“If Your Highness doesn’t want me to kiss you, you’d better release a little pheromone.”
“Threatening me?” Ji Chenxi’s eyes narrowed. The tips of his lashes lowered, and the light drunken sparkle that had danced in them moments ago vanished completely, replaced by ice-cold clarity.
“No, it’s a request,” Chi Zhuo said.
A request? Ji Chenxi didn’t see it that way at all. He smiled faintly and asked, “And if I don’t want to?”
“Then I’m afraid you’ll have to be wronged, Your Highness.”
Ji Chenxi usually wasn’t against gauging the situation—his teasing tone whenever he called him “Brother Chi Zhuo” always carried a touch of lazy charm. But this time, he didn’t mean to toy around. He didn’t move, nor did he release any pheromones with hostility; instead, he said, “You’re acting a little… off.”
Back then, when Chi Zhuo didn’t even know he was an alpha, it might’ve made sense. But now that he knew—why on earth would he still need pheromones?
“If you tell me the truth,” Ji Chenxi continued, remembering the bits of cooperation they’d shared before, “then maybe I’ll release some pheromones for you.” For now, he decided to put aside the fact that his first kiss had been stolen.
“The truth?” Chi Zhuo’s tone was rougher now, his restraint thinning. “What kind of truth does Your Highness want?”
Right then, to Chi Zhuo, Ji Chenxi was like a treat dangling right in front of a cat—taunting, tempting. And what cat wouldn’t want to take a bite? His eyes burned red from holding himself back.
“Why do you want my pheromones?” Ji Chenxi asked, frowning. “Weren’t you disgusted by the scent before?”
That was what truly puzzled him. When Ji Chenxi had marked Chi Zhuo before, he himself had nearly passed out from the discomfort—and Chi Zhuo, being on the receiving end, had looked worse. Yet now, this same man was asking for his pheromones.
“Your Highness… do we really have to talk about this?” Chi Zhuo’s voice trembled with tension. “I told you… it’s desire.”
Ji Chenxi rolled his eyes inwardly. If it weren’t for the bold, unmistakable scent telling him this was an alpha, he might have thought the earlier medicine had turned Chi Zhuo into an omega. Why else would Chi Zhuo crave his pheromones like this?
He was just about to push him away when Chi Zhuo’s voice came again, low and tight:
“Your Highness… forgive my offense.”
Chi Zhuo then let himself hold Ji Chenxi’s neck firmly, pressing him against the wall behind, and a kiss far more frantic and urgent than before landed again.
Ji Chenxi was genuinely getting angry now. His polite question had received no response, but it had earned him a second kiss.
The kiss was wild and reckless to the extreme. Ji Chenxi raised the hand holding his half-full bottle of alcohol, ready to smash it onto Chi Zhuo’s head—but before he could, one of Chi Zhuo’s hands clamped around his waist while the other pinned the hand with the bottle.
The raw power of an SSS-level alpha was on full display, and Ji Chenxi could feel the disparity—just a fraction, but enough.
The hot, heavy breaths washed over Ji Chenxi’s face, their breathing entangled, intimate to the point of discomfort. The tickling sensation made him want to tilt his head away.
The hand gripping the back of his neck tightened again. The scent of blood grew stronger, and Chi Zhuo’s urgent kiss was forced apart before he could absorb much of the pheromone-laden saliva.
Chi Zhuo’s eyes were dark and stormy, his voice deep and low: “Your Highness, behave.”
In a situation that should have infuriated him, Ji Chenxi couldn’t help but laugh. He released the tight hold on Chi Zhuo’s neck and leaned casually against the cold wall behind him. Clear, beautiful eyes sparkled with an inappropriate smile. “Chi Zhuo… what do you want me to do to behave?”
Chi Zhuo said nothing.
But Ji Chenxi had already started giving pointers. “If you want pheromones, the place to attack is the glands, not the lips. There’s very little in saliva. Even blood has far more pheromones than saliva. So if you really want mine, the best way is to bite my glands.”
“Biting the glands isn’t a good idea. My pheromones would clash with yours… they’d mess up your glands until they’re just a stabbing ache.”
Chi Zhuo’s strong, resilient arms pressed Ji Chenxi closer. He inhaled the faint natural pheromone scent coming off him. “I kissed you because your mouth still smelled strongly of—”
“Of what?”
“Other alcohol.”
Ji Chenxi let out a small laugh. The spiritual spike he had just formed in his hand reversed subtly, not piercing, then dissipated as silently as it had appeared.
“So, Chi Zhuo, you’re controlling me from drinking? Want to try some? It’s really good.”
“I’ve already tried.”
Ji Chenxi truly couldn’t help laughing this time—he had, indeed, tasted it. From his own mouth.
The lingering alcohol buzz seemed to rise again. Ji Chenxi, having just scratched Chi Zhuo’s neck a few times, took the opportunity to hook his arm around Chi Zhuo’s neck, his voice low and teasing: “Kiss again?”

TL: Hi everyone! One of my translations, Rare Rich People, has recently been completed. 🎉 It’s an awesome story about two CEOs — one who gets reborn as a poor guy and climbs his way back up to the top, and another CEO who originally wanted to make our reborn guy his sugar baby (lol, yeah… that didn’t exactly go as planned 😏). You’ll have to read it to see what actually happens!
The story totally gives off that “AA couple” vibe even though it’s not an omegaverse. After finishing it, I was craving more of that energy and ended up finding AMTPA. So if you’re reading AMTPA, I’m pretty sure you’ll love RRP too!
Hope you guys check it out and enjoy the read! 💕
