“Mr. Ling, I’m so sorry, the child is young and spoiled at home. He’s a bit of a germaphobe… But that’s not a big problem. He’ll definitely cooperate well and not cause any trouble if he comes to the kindegarten!”

The woman standing at the door smiled apologetically at Ling Huan.

She didn’t expect Ling Huan to open the door so quickly. Her son was so outspoken; she wondered if Ling Huan had heard what he said.

What may have seemed clean to adults can appear dirty to children. They speak without thinking, and if someone actually heard it, they’ll definitely be unhappy.

“Yes, Mr. Ling.” Mrs. Shen excitedly tugged at Mr. Shen, who had been silent all along. “Zhuoyu likes this place! Look how happy he is! Shen Zhuoyu’s voice rose slightly with dissatisfaction. His mother gave him a stern look, and he immediately shook his tail feathers without fear, saying tactfully, “It would be even better if you added a pear.”

“You like to eat pears?”

Feeling suddenly cared for and valued so much, and even understood when he said the opposite of what he meant, Shen Zhuoyu felt a little embarrassed and scratched his paw on the ground, casting a shadow in front of him.

He looked up and saw a long, slender, fair hand reaching out towards him.

Thinking that Ling Huan was going to touch his head, he immediately closed his eyes in a panic, but the expected pat did not come.

Guessing that Ling Huan might be standing too far away, Shen Zhuoyu closed his eyes and took a few steps forward, tentatively extending his neck toward Ling Huan’s position, only to bump his head into Ling Huan’s leg.

When he opened his eyes again, he saw that Ling Huan had withdrawn his hand, his well-defined fingertips pinching a very small leaf.

It was just taken off his feathers.

Ling Huan’s voice, tinged with laughter, came from beside him, “Did Zhuoyu just go to the small garden through the back door? There were leaves on your head, I just took them off for you.”

Shen Zhuoyu lowered his head slightly, blinked his eyes with a hint of disappointment, and gave a dry “oh”.

It turns out he was just helping him pick leaves.

As he approached Ling Huan, his tail feathers, which had been half-spread, drooped down. Shen Zhuoyu suddenly felt an extremely dangerous aura emanating from behind him.

Alpha cubs do not emit pheromones themselves when in their beast form, nor can they sense pheromones in their surroundings.

However, he keenly sensed that his tail feathers were lightly touched by someone’s fingertips, and the voice behind him was both soft and cold.

“Put it away.”

He jerked his tail in alarm and snapped it shut.

He stiffly turned his neck and was suddenly confronted by a man wearing a black wide-brimmed hat that almost covered half of his face, with only his tightly pursed thin lips visible.

Completely unaware of when Lu Jinbei arrived, Ling Huan felt the pheromones that had been flowing from the man’s side down to the ground and then spreading rapidly towards him, gently touching his trouser leg. He inwardly cried out in alarm.

“What are you doing!” Ling Huan stepped forward abruptly, pulling Lu Jinbei’s hand away from the other child’s tail. He hurriedly pulled Lu Jinbei’s hat down further and said in a low voice, “The parents are right here, how could you pull his tail?”

Fortunately, the two parents were standing far away and didn’t notice what was happening; they were excitedly looking at the glass roof.

Lu Jinbei’s voice was icy cold, ” He spreads his tail feathers at you.”

“When a peacock encounters someone it wants to attract, it will spread its tail feathers. How tall is he? He can’t even change back into human form yet, and he already wants you to look at him. He’s simply overestimating himself.”

“You know he’s only a few years old! He’s just a child!” Ling Huan said, exasperated. “What’s wrong with me looking at him. Didn’t I just tell you to sit over there and not come over?”

If Lu Jinbei hadn’t reminded him, he wouldn’t have noticed that Shen Zhuoyu’s display of such a small amount of tail feathers was considered a full display.

“His tail feathers are ugly.”

“You should look at mine.”
