ALSACW – Chapter 93

Yun Chuji woke up.

She woke up in her own room.

Clearly, they hadn’t gone all the way. Just as Tang Jianxi’s hand reached for her pants, Yun Chuji’s flushed face and trembling hands had stopped her. By then, however, Yun Chuji’s own upper body could already be described as thoroughly disheveled.

But both of their pheromones had become too active, and that wasn’t something that could be stopped by Tang Jianxi’s affection and tolerance for her.

In the end, Yun Chuji had to temporarily mark her for nearly ten minutes to suppress the heart-pounding agitation.

Things like this would probably happen often, and they would happen often before their wedding. Tang Jianxi didn’t say it outright, but Yun Chuji could see it in her meaningful gaze—she wanted to help her solve this problem for good.

At the same time, although she hadn’t said it explicitly either, Tang Jianxi could probably tell that she had no intention of refusing.

This was the best way. After all, Yun Chuji had previously planned to rely on the pressure of their wedding night to overcome her fear and discomfort with this body.

If, instead, Tang Jianxi used her exploration to help her become familiar with this body bit by bit, then she—naturally—had no intention of refusing.

After all, thinking about it rationally, these were things that would happen eventually.

The bathroom mirror reflected the upper half of a young woman. Her features were beautiful, her expression dignified, and she maintained an elegant demeanor even while rinsing her mouth.

But from time to time, the woman would pull at her collar, trying to cover the red marks that snaked down from her neck. Even though there was no one else around, she still grew strangely shy all by herself.

If there had been a second person, they might have suspected that her mouthwash had been spiked.

Yun Chuji changed into a high-collared shirt. Fortunately, she had many clothes like this that could cover a large area of her skin, enough to last for a while at least.

Ah, wait a minute.

Yun Chuji’s hand froze on the doorknob. She turned away, covering her forehead with her hand as if in deep melancholy.

After about three minutes, she reluctantly accepted that Tang Jianxi’s training from last night seemed to have been quite effective.

I’ve changed. Yun Chuji clearly recognized this. She could now think about that sort of thing with extreme naturalness. It wasn’t that she hadn’t thought about it before—besides, no one could become Tang Jianxi’s lover without thinking about such things—but she would always feel a degree of shame and unease. Now, however, that was gone. She thought of it as easily as she thought about the breakfast she was about to eat.

It was a hunger tinged with joy.

I’ve changed.

Yun Chuji sighed and turned to open the door.

There was no one outside. Tang Jianxi probably wasn’t up yet. Yesterday, she had been on the verge of heat and had drunk so much alcohol; it was only natural for her to wake up late.

Yun Chuji ordered breakfast, then sat in the living room and read for a while.

After staring at the same line of text for over five minutes, she gazed blankly at the ceiling. The ceiling was even less interesting than the book. So she turned her gaze to the bedroom door not far away.

The door wasn’t fully closed, leaving a gap that invited speculation—a small act of revenge from Tang Jianxi after her failed invitation to sleep together last night.

Yesterday, the prey had been too flustered and had inadvertently avoided the trap, but today, she had fallen right into it.

There was no helping it; the bait was too tempting.

Yun Chuji stood up and pursed her lips. It was eight in the morning. It was normal not to be awake at this hour, she thought. She was the one who had woken up too early.

Then she walked towards Tang Jianxi’s room.

She carefully pushed the door open and cautiously approached the bed. In the dim room, a beautiful woman lay in the middle of the large bed. She slept very properly, forming a straight line under the covers. Her long, black hair was spread across the white pillow, and in the center was the face Yun Chuji knew so well. The faint redness at the corners of her lips was a mark she herself had left last night.

Why did she come in?

Yun Chuji didn’t know.

She didn’t want to wake her at all.

She had just… come in involuntarily. A ridiculous sense of longing made her unable to bear even the distance of a single wall.

Yun Chuji sat cross-legged on the carpet, looking up at the object of her love and desire. It was only today that she understood that admitting love was the beginning of love, and in the days that followed, that love would grow with every little thing.

Just like now, simply looking at Tang Jianxi’s sleeping face, she felt she loved her a little more.

Ah, but this was no small thing.

Yun Chuji propped her head on her hand and sat like that until Tang Jianxi woke up over an hour later.

A figure suddenly appeared in her hazy vision. It was familiar, but in her just-awakened state, she couldn’t identify that familiarity, so she let out a subconscious cry of surprise.

“Did I scare you?” Yun Chuji stood up hastily, belatedly realizing that her actions might have been too rash.

Tang Jianxi rubbed her eyes, finally seeing clearly that the person who had inexplicably snuck into her room to peek was her legitimate fiancée. Her voice was still hoarse from sleep, but it did nothing to diminish the teasing tone in her words. “Yesterday, I asked you to sleep with me, and you ran faster than anyone. Now you sneak in here early in the morning, hmm?”

“It’s not early morning.” Yun Chuji tried to salvage what little innocence she had left.

Tang Jianxi gave her a questioning look.

“It’s already morning.”

“So?”

Tang Jianxi leaned against the headboard, the blanket resting on her waist. The neckline of her loose nightgown revealed a state similar to Yun Chuji’s own. Suddenly, Yun Chuji felt she had nothing left to argue.

She turned her head away.

The tips of her ears slightly red, she said, “I woke up too early. I didn’t see you, and I didn’t want to do anything.”

Tang Jianxi didn’t reply, just chuckled softly. She got out of bed on the side closer to Yun Chuji and, with a smile in her eyes, gently squeezed her cheek. “So good, Xiao Ji.”

Yun Chuji didn’t answer, just relaxed her face and let her squeeze it.

After she’d had her fill, Tang Jianxi went straight to the bathroom.

Yun Chuji followed silently, leaning against the doorframe to wait for her.

Her mind ran through the day’s agenda. The celebration had been over for seven days. Tang Jianxi had taken a vacation during that time. The matter with Glory was temporarily settled, and anything further was beyond her scope of involvement. The affairs of the Tang Group, however, were still waiting for her to handle. But according to Tang Jianxi, she could work online, which meant she would be with her.

With her to see Yun Xuan, with her for her live stream.

However, the meeting with Yun Xuan was tomorrow, which meant there was nothing to do today. She could spend the whole day with Tang Jianxi.

They were supposed to go out, but she was too worried about the outcome of the meeting with Yun Xuan and was constantly on edge, so Tang Jianxi let her stay at the hotel.

Tang Jianxi would occasionally go out to meet people, but she spent most of her time with her.

As Yun Chuji thought about these things, the name Tang Jianxi was always present, and her mood softened more and more. The wall she was leaning against seemed to have turned into a piece of candy softened by fire.

Just then, a kiss from Tang Jianxi brought her back to her senses.

A loud smack.

She kissed her and left.

Muttering, “Hurry up, let’s go eat breakfast. I’m hungry.”

Yun Chuji reached up to touch her lips, then lowered her head and broke into a clear smile.

The next day, Yun Chuji once again woke up in her own room.

There were new marks on her body from yesterday. As expected, they hadn’t gone anywhere. Besides the hot springs and indoor golf, there were no other noteworthy recreational activities at the hotel, and she couldn’t focus on reading—not even with Tang Jianxi by her side.

Oh, it was precisely because Tang Jianxi was by her side.

In short, yesterday was a repeat of the night before.

Yun Chuji chose another high-collared shirt and then walked to the other room next door.

She still didn’t dare to sleep with Tang Jianxi. After all, she really didn’t trust their self-control. This wasn’t the era of two genders, where passion could be extinguished simply by waiting for time to pass. Pheromones were always intertwining, and they ignited at the slightest touch.

She couldn’t overcome it yet, and Yun Chuji felt there was no need to force herself.

It was only a matter of time anyway.

She was very happy taking things slowly like this.

She sat cross-legged and waited, just like yesterday, receiving a long kiss after Tang Jianxi finished washing up.

Then, they set off to meet Yun Xuan.

The meeting place was one of the Third Princess’s residences on Golden Phoenix Star. She had left it for Yun Xuan. As for herself, she would stay here three days a week.

The rest of the time, she had business and other omegas to attend to.

The Third Princess had no intention of letting Yun Xuan use the excuse of meeting his sister to escape her surveillance, so from the very beginning, she insisted that Yun Xuan could only meet Yun Chuji here.

Just like when she met Yun Chuji’s parents in this world, Tang Jianxi parked the car outside the house’s surveillance network, let Yun Chuji get out, and waited there herself.

The difference was that the car was equipped with sophisticated anti-surveillance gear, and there were also two high-level AI bodyguards inside.

“Be careful,” Tang Jianxi urged.

Yun Chuji turned back and gave her a smile, then closed the car door.

The Third Princess was participating in this meeting, but in fact, she had turned it into two meetings: one with her, and one with Yun Xuan.

She sat upright in the living room, watching the alpha walk towards her. She was even more refined in person than on the live stream, truly not like an alpha at all. No wonder she had won Tang Jianxi’s favor.

Lucia suppressed the disdain in her heart and put on a polite smile common in the royal family—intimate yet distant, full of the condescension of a superior.

“Hello, Miss Yun.”

Yun Chuji performed an imperial salute and then said respectfully, “Good afternoon, Your Highness.”

Lucia raised an eyebrow slightly. The Empire did not place great emphasis on etiquette; it was only strictly observed on very solemn occasions.

And among those very solemn occasions was the celebratory parade she was not allowed to participate in.

For a moment, the smile on Lucia’s lips became a little more genuine. “You don’t need to be so formal in my home.”

Yun Chuji shook her head and said, “No, Your Highness is Your Highness.”

Yun Chuji truly thought so. After all, the royal family was the only entity in the entire Empire that could fit into her system of hierarchical values, and they were beings she had always been taught to respect and admire. Although she personally reserved judgment on Lucia’s character, putting on a good show wasn’t much of a strain.

Lucia had summoned Yun Chuji for this meeting mainly to put her in her place and to see if this subordinate of hers might turn against her. But after their conversation, Lucia was pleasantly surprised to find that this person was even more respectful to her than the butler who had been with her since childhood.

She had never been able to figure out how Yun Chuji could tolerate that madwoman Tang Jianxi. Now it seemed it was because of her admiration for herself.

For a moment, even though Lucia was confident to the point of arrogance, she couldn’t help but feel a little undeserving. In this day and age, earning someone’s heartfelt respect—especially from a top-tier alpha—was no simple matter.

She and Yun Chuji talked about everything from the ideals of Glory to its future, without touching on any specific courses of action. After all, they both knew full well that Glory had no future in the foreseeable future. Even if it did, it would no longer be the Third Princess’s Glory.

However, there was no need to discuss such an unpleasant topic; it would only ruin the wonderful atmosphere of their conversation.

On the surface, it was an extremely successful meeting, because on the surface, both host and guest were thoroughly pleased.

It wasn’t until Yun Chuji cautiously mentioned Yun Xuan that Lucia, as if reluctant to end the conversation, pointed to the balcony on the left and said the only words Yun Chuji had truly listened to all day: “He’s waiting for you there.”
