We were all captivated by the tiny, twitching movements of the peacefully slumbering baby.

While we are absorbed in looking at the sleeping baby, the sitting room door opens. Mother enters, also holding an infant in her arms.
“Everyone, you’re back. Welcome home.”
The baby in Mother’s arms blinks its eyes open, looking around curiously.
Lien and I approach Mother, peering at the child’s face.
Fluffy, jet-black hair and pale blue eyes. Slightly flushed, chubby cheeks. So adorable, just looking at them fills me with happiness.
While Lien and I are softening our expressions, Jade and Father are having a serious discussion.
Jade suddenly lets out a rare, loud “What?!” His brow deeply furrowed as he turned his gaze towards me.
“Jade, what’s wrong? Why did you shout like that?”

“Charles, Jade, Lien. I have something to tell you all. Shall we change the location?”
“Yes.”
As we entered the study, Father let out a heavy sigh and began to talk about the sister and the two infants.
“As for those children… First, I should tell you whose children they are.”
Father’s expression was stern as he opened his heavy lips.
“Those children are Lyle’s.”
“Uncle Lyle’s…!??”
Lien and I widened our eyes. Jade, who seemed to have been informed beforehand, kept a clouded expression.
In my first life, I had never heard of my uncle having children.

“The sister came to consult with us, saying those children belong to the Wahlman family. When Flor and I were surprised, the sister told us about Lyle, and then she showed us this.”
Father took something out of his pocket, wrapped in a handkerchief. It was a pair of earrings.
I recognized those earrings.
“These… are Mother’s…”
They were the ones my late mother often wore. I took the earrings in my hand.
“Yes. I gave them as a memento when Emmet passed away. When I heard from the sister that they were Lyle’s children, I was skeptical, but seeing these earrings… And the color of their eyes is the same as Lyle’s and Emmet’s.”

At first, they seemed so fragile, as if they would break if touched. But now, they are so full of energy that they end up running circles around us adults.
“Ah! Armand, Sophia! You’re still wet, aren’t you?”

The two, just out of the bath, were running around the changing room, their wet bodies still exposed. I sighed at the wet floor, “Geez…”
The changing room door then opened.
“Now, now, Armand, Sophia. Don’t trouble Charles Nii-san.”
“Jade Nii-sama!”
Armand and Sophia, noticing Jade, immediately clung to his feet.
Jade chuckled and, without minding the wetness, scooped up the two and came over to me, holding the towels.
“Here, let’s dry you off before you catch a cold.”
“Yes!”
The two obediently let Jade dry them and put on their clothes, finally ending the day’s bathing routine.
I let out a deep breath.
“Thank you for your hard work, Nii-san.”
“No problem. I’m glad you could come to my rescue.”
“If I was of help, I’m glad. Hey Armand, Sophia, did you thank Charles Nii-san for helping you take a bath?”
“Thank you, Charles Nii-sama!”
“Thank you!”
“You’re welcome.”
The two, held by Jade, beamed with smiles as they expressed their gratitude to me. The adorable voices of the two, whose vocabulary was gradually increasing, were nothing but soothing.
As we headed to the living room with Jade to play with the children, Lien also came.
The children ran up to Lien just as they had to Jade, clinging to him tightly.
“The two of you are full of energy today. Ah, you took a bath? You smell nice.”
Lien squatted down to meet their eyes and hugged them tightly. The two giggled, feeling ticklish.
“We took a bath with Charles Nii-sama!”
“I see~ How nice to be able to take a bath with Charles Nii-sama.”
“Can Lien Nii-sama join us too?”
“Eh? Can I?”
“Yeah! Let’s all take a bath together!”
“Bath, bath!”
