Chapter 017.2 The Young Master – “The slap in the face comes too fast, like a tornado” (17.2/35)

{TN: First VIP chapter! Triple length! Split into 2 parts}

——

Perhaps because Wen Xusheng had clarified the situation, the comments weren’t too bad when the livestream started the next day.

However, there were always some comments that stood out from the rest, gathering forces to bash Shi Jingge.

>>Wait and see, Shi Rongqing and Shi Jingge have a bad relationship. They fought in front of everyone, how could Shi Rongqing give Shi Jingge face?<<

>>Shi Rongqing must be so happy to throw Shi Jingge out for three days!<<

>>Congratulations to Shi Rongqing for escaping the misery!<<

Soon, Shi Jingge and Shi Rongqing both appeared in the livestream.

Shi Rongqing was sitting on the sofa, looking cold and stern, holding a newspaper in his hand, presumably reading it. Upon hearing movement, he finally looked over.

Just a casual glance was enough to make people feel an inexplicable pressure, making them dare not even breathe.

Immediately after, a sleepy-eyed young man pulling a suitcase appeared in the living room, rubbing his eyes and saying, “Brother, when I’m not home, you have to take good care of yourself.”

His voice was hoarse and sounded sticky, making him sound more like he was acting spoiled. Coupled with his face and his peach-blossom eyes glistening with moisture…

…it was a beauty attack!

“Okay,” Shi Rongqing said, handing Shi Jingge a glass of water, his sternness suddenly softening.

“Really?” Shi Jingge lowered his head, took a sip of water, returned the glass to Shi Rongqing, and looked at him suspiciously. “No coffee! No milk tea either! You have to eat properly! I’ll have Auntie Bai supervise you!”

Shi Rongqing couldn’t help but laugh. He pushed him away and teased him, “Go on, you little nuisance!”

Shi Jingge entered the production team’s car and waved at him. “Wait for me to come home!”

In that moment, Shi Rongqing’s expression softened immensely, and the camera gave him a close-up. He nodded gently. “Come home early.”

That soft look was completely different from the aloof big shot everyone saw him as!

If these two brothers were said not to be close, what kind of brothers were? Were there any brothers who are closer?

>>Is this what it means to be brothers who don’t get along?<<

>>Does Shi Rongqing really look down on Shi Jingge?<<

>>Will Shi Rongqing be happy after sending Shi Jingge away?<<

However, those who wanted to discredit Shi Jingge did not give up.

Shi Jingge  was such a stupid rich second-gen kid, how could they not find a chance to smear him? They didn’t believe they couldn’t smear Shi Jingge to death!

The program crew’s car slowly drove away, and the staff whispered, “Mr. Shi, do you want to say something to the live audience?”

Shi Jingge was surprised. “I have a livestream? With an audience?”

The staff nodded.

“Oh.” Shi Jingge pursed his lips. “Then change the live broadcast room. I want to go to sleep.”

Staff: “?”

Audience in front of the live broadcast room: “?”

Shi Jingge’s eyelids were heavy, and he muttered, “I’m so sleepy.”

With that, he yawned, tilted his head back against the chair, and closed his eyes.

How unprofessional! How could he not care about his viewers? Wasn’t he just asking for trouble?

They were going to bash him now!

So they sent several comments.

>>He’s such a spoiled brat. What does he think his viewers are?<<

>>I’ve never seen anyone so unprofessional!<<

>>I feel sorry for Wen Ge, being paired with someone like this. Who knows how he’ll be affected?<<

>>Disgusting, disgusting, so disgusting!<<

The next second, Shi Jingge struggled to sit back up.

“Forget it.” Shi Jingge rubbed his eyes hard. “I’m not going to sleep.”

The staff in the front row: “???”

—We all considered closing the livestream!

Shi Jingge cleared his throat lightly to recover his dignity. “After all, I’m someone with an audience. My brother said I have to be responsible towards them.”

He looked so serious, just like a primary school student listening to their teacher, and he was actually kind of cute. The staff almost laughed out loud.

The hard-working hater: “…”

—How could you just decide not to sleep? Are you that fickle?

Many people in the live stream were also charmed by Shi Jingge, and some viewers even sent gifts. Although the gifts weren’t very big, it still made the hater feel heartbroken.

—How could a stupid rich second-gen deserve those gifts?

Shi Jingge had never done a live broadcast before and was a little lost, so he asked, “What am I supposed to broadcast?”

The staff replied, “Anything you want. You can say whatever you want or show off your talents.”

“Talents?” Shi Jingge pursed his lips and thought hard for a while, then took out his phone and said, “I don’t think I have any talents, but I’m pretty good at games. How about I do a live broadcast of me playing a game?”

Staff: ???

Live stream viewers: ???

—Wow, this guy’s even doing a multi-genre livestream?

Shi Jingge looked at the staff and asked, “Is that okay?”

The staff nodded with a smile.

So Shi Jingge opened the game, yawned long and hard, feeling so sleepy that he stuck a cold wet wipe over his eyes, but stubbornly refused to fall back asleep.

The staff member looked at the dark circles under his eyes and suddenly realized that this young master was quite different from what they had imagined.

At least he was polite and dedicated.

The trolls immediately jumped on the chance to criticize him.

>>Sure enough, he’s just a spoiled little rich kid with no real talents. All he can do is play games. Haha.<<

>>Of course, he’s a wealthy young master. He’s different from ordinary people. Even if he doesn’t do anything, he still has a mansion to live in and a luxury car to drive. He spends more in a day than most people earn in a lifetime.<<

>>Just playing games and wasting his days away. How enviable.<<

>>Can we please not let these rich kids come on the show? They have no positive energy at all.<<

>>No matter how hard you work your whole life, you can’t compare to someone who was born into wealth.<<

>>Never mind, I’m off to work.<<

The trolls specifically compared him to an ordinary person to stir up everyone’s resentment toward the wealthy. It must be said that this tactic was quite successful. The livestream comments gradually became less harmonious.

Just as Shi Jingge opened the game, the words “System Update — In Maintenance” flashed on the screen, hitting him like a ton of bricks.

“It seems like… I can’t play the game now…” Shi Jingge threw down his phone and sighed. “Do I really have to perform a talent?”

Actually, there was no need to perform at all. The production team had prepared questions to ask him in the car, but seeing Shi Jingge’s resentful expression, the staff members nodded in agreement.

Shi Jingge wiped his face and frowned. “Then I’ll sing a song.”

Shi Jingge cleared his throat and sang a love song. The next second, the staff members were all stunned.

The audience watching the livestream also froze.

When the song ended, the livestream was flooded with comments, almost filling the screen!

>>!!!!!<<

>>Holy crap, is this really the young master singing? Is this really him singing?!!<<

>>Ahhhhhhhhh, it’s so beautiful, it’s really beautiful!!<<

>>Damn, I actually cried, I’m speechless.<<

>>Wuwuwu, I feel like the young master sang out all his vulnerability. It reminded me of my ex-boyfriend. It’s not that I don’t love him, it’s just that I can’t make him love me.<<

>>Listening to this, I feel so moved. We’ve been in a cold war for the past two days, and I almost cried just now.<<

>>Is this even considered having no talent?!<<

>>Speaking of which, there are plenty of people in real life who have no talent. Why can’t they play video games? I have no talent and I’m poor, but I love playing video games. Are you saying I can’t play video games anymore?<<

>>Exactly, playing video games can get you where he is now. I’m speechless.<<

>>Based on what they said, should e-sports be abolished?<<

>>Wah wah wah wah. I’ve switched sides! The young master’s face is just as charming as his voice, wah wah wah!<<

Trolls: “…”

This twist came too fast, like a tornado.

After Shi Jingge finished singing, seeing that the staff weren’t saying anything, he scratched the back of his head awkwardly. “I’m just average at singing. My older brother is the one who sings well.”

Staff: “…”

Viewers in the live stream: “…”

—That’s called average?

—He’s definitely being humble!

The staff member laughed. “Shi Shao is really humble.”

Shi Jingge looked up in surprise, pointing at himself. “Me? Humble?”

The staff member was taken aback, then saw Shi Jingge happily pull out his phone and open the recording function. “Can you say that again?”

Staff member: “???”

“I want to send it to my older brother.” The young master scratched his head. “Hehe, someone said I’m being humble.”

The staff member couldn’t help but laugh, and the audience in the livestream was already laughing hysterically. Alright, now no one can say that the young master is no good. He really thinks his singing is just average.

>>So how good is Shi Rongqing’s singing that the young master rates himself so low?<<

A troll looked at the “hahaha”s flashing in the livestream, then at the rhythm-setting comments he had just typed and painfully deleted them all.

This comment was clearly no longer appropriate.

But he wouldn’t give up.

He refused to believe that he couldn’t get the rhythm going today. He definitely could!

The staff asked curiously, “Mr. Shi can sing too?”

“Of course,” Shi Jingge said proudly, puffing out his chest. “He sings really well.”

“But—”

Shi Jingge laughed, with a hint of smugness and childishness. He was already good-looking, and now he was even more dazzling, making it difficult to take your eyes off him. “My brother only sings for me.”

The last sentence was said with such pride that his tail was almost sticking up in the air.

>>He’s showing off, isn’t he? He’s showing off.<<

>>And people say the two brothers in the Shi family don’t get along…<<

>>The big brother only sings for his little brother. Yeah, they don’t get along.<<

The paid troll: “…”

How annoying!

But according to the information he got, the two of them didn’t get along! Who knew when these two improved their relationship?

Two grown men should be more stable. One day they’re almost fighting, and the next day they’re making up and being all affectionate. They were so embarrassing!

Taking advantage of this topic, the staff started chatting with Shi Jingge.

The young master was boasting about his brother, and he was so enthusiastic that he couldn’t stop talking, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Several times, Mr. Troll tried to find an opportunity to change the rhythm of the chat, but he couldn’t find one, so in the end, he could only say sourly:

>>What brotherly love?<<

However, no one paid any attention to this stray remark. Whether their brotherly love was genuine or fake, anyone with eyes could see it.

Shi Jingge talked all the way to the airport, and when they got out of the car, he still seemed reluctant to stop. At that moment, everyone in the Shi family had a screen in their hands and gathered in Shi Jingge’s livestream. Listening to Shi Jingge’s series of boasts about Shi Rongqing, everyone in the Shi family was beaming with pride.

Especially Auntie Bai, who’d been hoping day and night for the two brothers to get along. Hearing this in the livestream, she couldn’t stop smiling.

“So the young master admires the eldest master so much.” Auntie Bai glanced at Shi Rongqing and teased with a smile.

Shi Rongqing couldn’t hide the smile in his eyes, but he still pretended to be serious and nodded. “Hmm.”

Aunt Bai didn’t call him out on it, just smiled and turned to watch the livestream again.

Shi Rongqing couldn’t resist any longer and entered the livestream chat to send gifts to Shi Jingge. After sending them, Shi Rongqing still couldn’t resist and sent a red envelope to his good friend Ning Jincheng.

Ning Jincheng quickly accepted it and sent back a question mark.

Shi Rongqing: [How are things with you and your brother?]

Shi Rongqing and Ning Jincheng were like brothers in the same boat, both having a troublesome younger brother. They had spent countless late nights venting to each other, racking their brains trying to figure out what their younger brothers were thinking.

However, later on, Ning Jincheng’s  brother started dating a girl who managed to tame him. Because of this, the Ning family now treated that girl like the apple of their eye, and the two brothers combined weren’t as important to them as she was.

Thus, Ning Jincheng escaped the misery and no longer had to worry about his younger brother.

Only Shi Rongqing remained struggling in the sea of suffering.

However, now Shi Rongqing has also escaped his misery!

Ning Jincheng: [Huh? He’s still the same. I can’t be bothered with that little brat.]

[Oh.] Shi Rongqing sent the live stream address to Ning Jincheng with restraint. [My little brat is acting up lately. He keeps talking about how much he loves me. I don’t think he realizes how annoying he is.]

Ning Jincheng entered to take a look, but left after ten seconds, decisively replying with two words: [Get lost!]

Jealousy, jealousy, it was blatant jealousy.

Shi Rongqing was elated, sending a happy dancing emoji, and went to look for his next good friend.

Ning Jincheng: (Exploding with anger.jpg)

It wasn’t until Shi Jingge arrived at the airport and the topics related to Shi Rongqing stopped that Shi Rongqing finally stopped “harassing” his good brothers.

The Shi family’s residence was the farthest from the airport, so Shi Jingge was the last to arrive.

The coat he’d been holding in his hands finally covered his body.  It suited him perfectly. The moment he put it on, it was truly eye-catching, and one of the staff members was stunned.

The livestream chat exploded with discussions about the young master’s good looks and the jacket, but soon someone noticed that it was the same as the one worn by Wen Xusheng.

The sleepy trolls were instantly energized, as if they’d been injected with a stimulant.

—Here it comes! The chance to stir the pot is here!!

>>What similar style? Wen Ge is a big shot; he gets new designs from major brands every year. Why would he need to buy clothes?<<

>>Although Wen Ge hasn’t worn this outfit in public before, you never know, someone might be able to find out.<<

>>I’d be willing to buy two of the same ones to collect. Who wouldn’t want to wear the same things as Wen Ge?<<

>>I want it too.<<

>>You might even get some attention and traffic. How fun would that be?<<

>>But isn’t it almost impossible to obtain that kind of information?<<

The trolls were being as sarcastic as possible, implying that Shi Jingge was acting like a stalker, trying to find out information about Wen Xusheng and deliberately wearing the same outfit as him to stir up hype.

This tactic worked well, and with the other trolls joining in, Shi Jingge’s live stream quickly became chaotic.

Mr. Troll was gloating.

Sure enough, there was no hype he couldn’t stir up! He was the true master of rhythm, so awesome!

Even the livestream comments noticed that the two were wearing the same clothes, let alone the other people at the scene.

One of them, a tall man, laughed and said, “Wen Ge, Shi Shao, I didn’t recognize you. Are you two wearing the same outfit?”

This man was Meng Yisong, a variety show personality who was good at livening up the atmosphere.

A young man with a baby face next to him lit up. He laughed and said, “Are you wearing matching outfits?”

The man with the baby face was short, which made him look even younger. His name was Wei Zhiyun, and he was a singer, but the music market had been sluggish in the last two years, so he wanted to switch to acting. However, he was not very talented at it, and his height was also a limitation, so he appeared more often on variety shows.

Meng Yisong froze for a moment, his brow slightly furrowed. Wei Zhiyun’s words were not very friendly.

The young master, who’d been drinking water, choked on it and coughed uncontrollably.

Wen Xusheng quickly took the bottle from his hand, patted his back, and said casually, “Yes, I dragged Xiao Ge to go shopping with me. We picked them out together. How do you like them? I have good taste, right?”

He didn’t respond to Wei Zhiyun.

Meng Yisong raised his thumb and spoke before Wei Zhiyun could, “That’s quite an excellent choice.”

Shi Jingge stopped coughing. Wen Xusheng handed the mineral water back to Shi Jingge, took the suitcase from his hand, and instructed, “Drink slowly.”

Shi Jingge nodded obediently.

That obedient expression was too cute. Wen Xusheng couldn’t resist. reaching out to touch Shi Jingge’s head.

Shi Jingge glared at him but didn’t say anything. Wen Xusheng glanced at Shi Jingge’s jacket, then looked down at his own, a hint of a smile flashing in his eyes.

…Isn’t this a couple’s outfit?

Mr. Troll: “…”

The comeback was so fast; it was like a dragon’s breath, catching him off guard.

Mr. Troll wiped his face and looked at the live chat, which had already shifted direction, and sighed sadly.

—Could you have waited a little longer to make that comeback?

—Could you have let me set the tone first?

—How am I supposed to explain this to my employer, huh!!!

Mr. Troll tried three times to stir things up, but instead of making Shi Jingge look bad, he made everyone realize that the young master was not what they had heard.

The young master was undeniably handsome, had a nice singing voice, and was quite funny. As for being arrogant and domineering, he didn’t seem like that at all.

On the contrary, the young master was quite polite, spoke courteously, asked others for their opinions, and accepted others’ suggestions. When he smiled, he was truly handsome.

Just now, even though he was so tired his eyes were barely open, he didn’t just go to sleep. Instead, he used a wet wipe to stay awake and performed the talent as instructed by the staff. That was what you call being well-behaved.

And most importantly, the bond between the young master and Wen Ge was genuine!

Not only did they wear matching clothes, but Wen Ge also carried his luggage.

Have you ever seen Wen Ge carry luggage for anyone else?

Only for the young master, right?

Knowing that the two of them had a genuine relationship, the fans could be rest assured. Some even came out to apologize for passionately criticizing Shi Jingge last night. The livestream chat was unusually harmonious.

Mr. Troll struggled to figure out how to stir the pot. Unable to come up with anything, he looked up at the chat, hoping to find inspiration.

But the chat was so peaceful.

In an instant, Mr. Troll felt a sharp pain in his stomach.

—This Wen Xusheng must be my nemesis, right? Every time I see Wen Xusheng, nothing good happens.

He once took on a job to stir up trouble for Wen Xusheng, worked hard for three months, but couldn’t get anything going. Three months of hard work went down the drain, and he almost died from frustration.

Even if he couldn’t get Wen Xusheng’s rhythm going, why couldn’t he get Shi Jingge’s either?

Before taking this job, Mr. Troll didn’t really expect it to be like this. How could it be so hard to set the tone for an arrogant, spoiled rich kid? This should be easy peasy, right?

But in reality? This rhythm just wouldn’t pick up!

Mr Troll’s phone rang, and he looked down.

It was a message from the employer.

Yes. The employer had sent a message to hurry him up.

Mr Troll rubbed his temples in pain. “Damn it, how can it be so hard to get a rhythm going?!”

————————-

The author has something to say: Wen Xusheng and Shi Jingge are the two weapons that make Trolls suffer, go crazy, and doubt their lives.

Later, the two announced their relationship.

Trolls: I hate them.

Mr. Troll: If I had known they were a couple, I never would’ve taken this job!

The next book is coming soon. If any of you like it, feel free to add it to your favorites in advance~

The Vicious Cannon Fodder Doesn’t Want to Be A Heartthrob (Book Transmigration)

Huo Yunzhen was bound to a system and had to play the role of a vicious cannon fodder according to the system’s requirements.

The cannon fodder is despicable, cold, selfish, and extremely possessive, obsessed with the main character Ye Baihua. He drives everyone away from him, causing endless trouble for the main character, and is eventually hated and rejected by everyone.

To return home, Huo Yunzhen diligently plays the role of the cannon fodder, confessing his feelings daily. However—

Ye Baihua accepts his rose and says modestly, “Let’s give it a try.”

After a pause, he adds, “But this is my first time dating someone. If I do anything wrong, just tell me.”

Huo Yunzhen: ???

—The plot has collapsed!!!

To salvage it, Huo Yunzhen had no choice but to resort to various underhanded tactics.

He cheered for the main character’s true love at a music festival, presented flowers to the main character’s second love interest at an award ceremony, engaged in online battles with the main character’s haters on Weibo, and carefully tended to the main character’s number one sidekick when they were injured.

These people despised him intensely, would never change their opinion of him, and would think he had ulterior motives, that he was fickle, and that the main character wasn’t worth it.

As long as they all convinced the main character together, the plot would definitely return to its original course!

Result—

Main character’s main love interest: “You don’t deserve Zhenzhen.”

Second ML: “I’ve found the love of my life, and that’s Zhenzhen.”

The protagonist’s friend: “You look so handsome protecting me. Can I pursue you?”

Golden Finger No. 1: “The person Zhenzhen likes is me, right?”

Golden Finger No. 2: “Zhenzhen, since I met you, I finally know what it means to love someone.”

Huo Yunzhen: ??????

Damn it, system, what should I do if these people are out of character?!

#Everyone is out of character, only I’m still diligently following the plot#

#Damn it, why won’t these people follow the plot?#

#I’m clearly just quietly following the plot, why is the plotline falling apart?!#

#What can save our beloved plot?#

T/N: Changed into 2 parts as every time I have tried to edit it in the site before posting it freaks out. I promise that is the only reason. As I was able to post other chapters just fine that are average 2-3k, and this one is 6k, I am thinking that length is the issue.
