Lu Shiran and Lu Xingmian’s wedding was set for October.
The weather was neither too cold nor too hot, perfect for a wedding.
During the summer break, the two had already gone abroad to get their marriage certificate and then spent half a month traveling.
The wedding was held in the garden of Lu Shiran’s villa. The large garden was more than spacious enough to host the event. The guest list included close relatives of the Lu clan and a small number of prestigious families with whom the Lu clan had close ties. Even so, more than a hundred guests attended the wedding.
Of course, Lu Xingmian’s friends were also there.
His friends from junior high to now, Song Yihan and Liu Yichen; his friends from S City, Chen Che, Zhou Cheng, Zhu Jinyan, and Xia Zhicheng; his university friend Jiang Ran and his boyfriend; and several other good classmates all came to attend Lu Xingmian’s wedding.
Lu Xingmian also invited Meng Sun, the boy next door who had been so kind to him since he was a child.
Meng Sun now understood that there was someone who loved Lu Xingmian even more than he did and treated him even better.
Lu Xingmian hadn’t expected so many people to come to the wedding.
In the room, Lu Xingmian was so nervous he kept biting his lips, making his camellia-colored lips even redder. Lu Shiran came over and placed his finger on them. “Don’t bite yourself, bite me instead.”
Lu Xingmian’s teeth gently grazed Lu Shiran’s long, slender finger, and Lu Shiran could feel just how nervous he was. He gently comforted him.
After a while, Lu Shiran softly asked, “Are you feeling better? Are you still nervous?”
Lu Xingmian looked up at him. “Just a little.”
This was his first time getting married, and with so many people there, it was natural for him to feel nervous.
Lu Shiran said, “I have a way to make you less nervous. Want to try it?”
“Yes.” Lu Xingmian replied.
Lu Shiran smiled, lowered his head, and kissed Lu Xingmian. He lightly teased Lu Xingmian’s tongue with his and the person in his arms let out an involuntary sound.
Lu Shiran also whispered a few words in his ear, making Lu Xingmian’s entire body tremble.
When Lu Shiran finally released him, the person in his arms was blushing furiously. Lu Shiran asked him, “Are you feeling better now? Are you still still nervous? If you are, just think about how I just kissed you and the things I just said to you, and you won’t be nervous anymore.”
This method was very effective. Lu Xingmian wasn’t nervous anymore. Whenever he thought of what Lu Shiran had said and the way he had kissed him, his mind was filled with Lu Shiran, leaving him only with a sense of shyness.
With Lu Xingmian now comforted, the wedding officially began.
Under the blessings and gazes of everyone present, Lu Shiran and Lu Xingmian exchanged rings.
The wedding ceremony was not as tedious or tiring as Lu Xingmian had imagined. The whole process was relaxed and joyful.
But from that day forward, everyone knew that the head of the Lu clan was married, and his husband was Lu Xingmian.
At the wedding, everyone witnessed how much the head of the Lu clan doted on Lu Xingmian and how beloved Lu Xingmian was by the entire Lu clan.
Those relatives who had previously held reservations about Lu Xingmian quietly fell silent and no longer daring to show any disrespect.
After a lively day, Lu Shiran and Lu Xingmian finally returned to Shanglin Mansion and were ready to finally have their wedding night.
Lu Shiran hadn’t touched a drop of alcohol at the wedding, but now as they’re home, he opened a bottle of red wine for just the two of them to celebrate. Lu Xingmian, who had just finished showering, came over and said, “Ge, I want some too.”
“Your hair isn’t even dry yet.” Lu Shiran chided, but his hands were gentle as he began to dry Lu Xingmian’s hair.
Lu Xingmian confessed, “I left it wet on purpose so you would dry it for me.”
Lu Shiran smiled indulgently. “Are you tired today?”
“No, not at all.” Lu Shiran had handled all the arrangements and Lu Xingmian had just simply enjoyed eating and drinking happily at the wedding.
Lu Xingmian’s gaze fell on the glass of red wine. “Ge, let me have a sip later, okay?”
Lu Shiran asked, “Aren’t you afraid of getting drunk?”
“I’ll just have one sip.”
Since the last time he got drunk, Lu Xingmian hadn’t had any red wine. But looking at the glass today, he really wanted a taste.
It was their wedding night, and Lu Shiran would grant him any request. “Alright. I’ll let you have a sip once your hair is dry.”
Lu Xingmian happily lifted his head.
After showering, Lu Xingmian loved wearing his boyfriend’s, or rather, his now husband’s shirt because it was so loose, soft, and comfortable.
With his hair dry, Lu Xingmian waited for Lu Shiran to pour him some wine. But instead, he saw Lu Shiran pick up the glass and take a sip himself.
Oh no, is Lu Shiran going back on his word?
Just as he was thinking this, Lu Shiran suddenly reached out and pulled him close. Lu Xingmian was pressed tightly against Lu Shiran’s body.
Lu Shiran hadn’t changed yet; he was still wearing his white wedding shirt with his tie still on. He gazed deeply at Lu Xingmian.
Lu Xingmian tugged on his tie. “Laogong, I want some wine.”
The man smiled, lowered his head, and kissed those rosy lips.
The slightly tart yet sweet red wine flowed continuously into Lu Xingmian’s mouth.
Lu Xingmian’s adam apple bobbed as he swallowed, but some of the wine still spilled out, sliding down his jawline, neck, and over his fair collarbone before disappearing into his shirt.
Lu Xingmian’s shirt was now soaked in a large patch. As the two held each other close, both of their white shirts were damp and stained with a wine-red color, a sight that sparked many thoughts.
The air around them grew hotter and filled with more than just the scent of red wine.
Lu Xingmian then swallowed the last bit of wine.
Lu Shiran’s voice was husky. “Zai Zai, do you want more?”
Lu Xingmian breathed out a warm sigh. “Yes.”
It felt like he had only had one sip, but Lu Xingmian felt as though he was already drunk.
Lu Shiran tore off his tie with one hand. “You can’t have any more. Zai Zai, it’s our wedding night. I can’t let you get drunk, or you won’t remember anything tomorrow.”
He picked up Lu Xingmian and carried him to the balcony and placed him on the small sofa he usually liked to lie on. He then knelt down and quickly undid Lu Xingmian’s buttons and stripped the shirt off of him.
Lu Shiran took Lu Xingmian’s hand. “Zai Zai, help me take off my shirt.”
Lu Xingmian undid the buttons with his slender fingers one by one. But when he was halfway through, he gasped.
A certain man’s hands had become very naughty as they were wrapping around him.
The man coaxed him, “Zai Zai, don’t stop.”
Lu Xingmian continued to unbutton the shirt, yet the man became more demanding. Lu Xingmian’s fingertips trembled and it took him nearly half a minute to undo just one button.
He looked at the man with a pleading expression but the man only said, “Zai Zai, keep going.”
Lu Xingmian struggled to unbutton the rest of the shirt with his face flushed completely red.
Their wedding night was a short and precious one.
They moved from the balcony to the living room, from the living room to the study, and finally from the study to the bedroom.
All Lu Xingmian knew was that it was already the afternoon when he woke up. He heard footsteps footsteps as soon as he opened his eyes so he quickly closed them again.
Lu Shiran came over. “Zai Zai, are you awake?”
Lu Xingmian stayed silent, pretending to be asleep. He had forgotten again that Lu Shiran could tell at a glance whether he was sleeping or not.
Lu Shiran sat down beside him and gently stroking his eyelashes with his fingers. “Zai Zai, it’s time to get up. You haven’t eaten all day. Get up, eat something, and then you can go back to sleep.”
The eyelashes on Lu Shiran’s fingertips fluttered even more noticeably.
Lu Shiran decided to continue teasing his sweetheart. “If you don’t wake up, I’m going to tickle you.”
He knew exactly where Lu Xingmian’s ticklish spots were. The moment his hand moved, the person on the bed burst into laughter and quickly begged for mercy, “Ge, Ge, stop tickling me, that tickles!”
Lu Shiran asked, “So, are you going to get up or not?”
Lu Xingmian stretched out his arms. “Lift me up.”
“Alright.” Lu Shiran picked him up and put clothes on him, then carried him to the bathroom to wash up, after that he carried him back to the bed. He told Lu Xingmian to wait there while he went to the kitchen to get food.
“Is this fish maw?” Lu Xingmian asked as he spotted something in his porridge.
“Yes,” Lu Shiran replied. “Is it good?”
“It’s delicious, so delicious!” Lu Xingmian praised him. “Ge, everything you make is delicious.”
“Then eat more,” Lu Shiran said. “Fish maw has many health benefits.”
Lu Xingmian casually asked, “What kind of benefits?”
Lu Shiran replied, “It’s good for the kidneys, and it helps with beauty and skin.”
Lu Xingmian was speechless.
Men sometimes have a strange competitive streak. Lu Xingmian said, “I don’t need to replenish my kidneys!”
The corners of Lu Shiran’s lips curved into a smile. “Yes, I’m very aware of that. Our Zai Zai is in great shape. Have some more.”
Lu Xingmian felt that Lu Shiran was coaxing a child.
But the fish maw porridge was truly delicious. Lu Xingmian had two large bowls of it.
On the third day after the wedding, Lu Shiran took Lu Xingmian to his parents’ house.
Father and Mother Lu had been waiting for them at home for a while already.
Then Lu Xingmian followed Lu Shiran through the door.
“Dad and Mom.”
Father and Mother Lu were so happy they were beaming.
Knowing they were coming home today, Lu Yu’s family also came over.
“Little Uncle,” Xiao Youzi came over holding a drawing. “Little Uncle, this is a wedding gift for you and Uncle. Xiao Youzi drew it herself.”
Xiao Youzi had drawn two people, and from their expressions, it was easy to recognize them as Lu Xingmian and Lu Shiran. In the drawing, they were holding hands and smiling happily with a garden behind them.
Xiao Youzi had drawn a picture of Lu Xingmian and Lu Shiran as they appeared on their wedding day.
Lu Xingmian took the drawing in surprise. “Thank you, Xiao Youzi.”
Xiao Youzi had used very warm colors, making the painting look incredibly happy.
This was a special wedding gift from Xiao Youzi to her uncle and little uncle. Seeing that they liked it so much, she felt relieved.
After Xiao Youzi presented her wedding gift, Father and Mother Lu, along with his older brother and sister-in-law, also gave them gifts.
“Thank you, Mom and Dad.”
“Thank you, Gege and Saozi.”
During dinner, Lu Xingmian’s bowl was never empty, as Lu Shiran, who was sitting next to him, kept adding dishes that Lu Xingmian liked.
There was not a single dish with cilantro on the table. Lu Xingmian realized that every time he came to their house for a meal, there was never any cilantro in any of the dishes.
Lu Xingmian knew that this time, he truly had a home.
