AAWOMAHI Chapter99

Extra 5

Lu Xingmian never actually managed to hide out in that downstairs apartment.

Because whenever he got angry and argued with Lu Shiran, Lu Shiran would quickly smooth things over.

Or before he could even step out the door, Lu Shiran would be blocking the way like a door god, making it impossible for Lu Xingmian to leave.

“Lu Shiran, that’s cheating! I can’t leave if you do that. How am I supposed to run away from home?”

Lu Shiran: “Mian Zai, do you think I’ll give you another chance to run away from home?”

Once was enough for that kind of incident.

Lu Xingmian tried to force his way out but he was no match for Lu Shiran in either height or build. Lu Shiran easily picked him up. Lu Xingmian’s legs flailed in the air and were unable to reach the floor. Lu Xingmian then just gave up and hung onto Lu Shiran.

“Is being tall really that great?”

“I don’t know if it’s great, but I know it’s enough to make you behave.”

Lu Xingmian: “I’m not going to intern at your company. I’m not going, I’m not going, I’m not going.”

Lu Shiran: “Which company do you want to go to then?”

Lu Xingmian: “A company I found myself. Just not yours.”

Lu Shiran patiently reasoned, “If you come to my company, I can look after you and you’ll even learn a lot.”

Lu Xingmian: “I don’t need your special care. I can learn things at other companies too.”

Regarding the internship issue, Lu Xingmian and Lu Shiran had been at a stalemate for days, neither able to convince the other. One was worried about Lu Xingmian being bullied; the other didn’t want special treatment from Lu Shiran and wanted to rely on his own abilities. Lu Xingmian was unusually stubborn about this and no amount of sweet-talk or seduction from Lu Shiran in bed could change his mind.

Finally, Lu Shiran offered him a choice: “Either go to Lu Yu’s company, or come to mine.”

Lu Xingmian chose the former without hesitation: “I’ll go to Big Brother’s company.”

Lu Shiran agreed readily: “It’s a deal then.”

Lu Xingmian immediately realized he had fallen into Lu Shiran’s trap again. Going to his older brother’s company wasn’t much different from going to Lu Shiran’s. However, he figured no one at Big Brother’s company would recognize him, so that was slightly better.

With the matter settled, Lu Shiran said, “Mian Zai, let’s eat. The food will get cold if you don’t eat now.”

Lu Xingmian swallowed. Lu Shiran had made roasted lamb chops for dinner, which were golden brown and crispy and smelled absolutely delicious. He had been fighting with Lu Shiran on an empty stomach until just now.

Eating the roasted lamb chops with spicy kimchi and perilla leaves was heavenly. All his thoughts of running away from home were long gone.

Seeing Lu Xingmian enjoy the lamb chops, Lu Shiran felt pleased that his cooking had impressed him and that he had thoroughly won over Lu Xingmian’s appetite.

In the past, Lu Shiran felt that conquering the business world was the most fulfilling thing. Now he felt that feeding Lu Xingmian was the most fulfilling thing.

The internship was decided: Lu Xingmian would intern at Lu Yu’s company.

Lu Xingmian started from the very bottom just like any other intern. No one knew his identity. He studied diligently and humbly with his senior colleagues, working very hard and having very busy days.

Lu Yu looked at the busy Lu Xingmian and couldn’t help but call Lu Shiran, asking if he really had the heart to make Lu Xingmian start from the very bottom—it was tough work.

Of course, Lu Shiran felt bad, but he understood, supported, and respected Lu Xingmian’s choice. Knowing how hard the internship was, he cooked him delicious food in different ways every single day.

Lu Yu thought Lu Xingmian would just quietly finish his internship, but instead, Lu Xingmian produced a surprisingly brilliant and outstanding proposal.

This also laid the groundwork for Lu Xingmian’s later management of the former Lu Group[mfn]The Lu family’s btw[/mfn].

It was past ten o’clock at night and Lu Xingmian was home alone. Lu Shiran had gone out to drink with friends.

Lu Xingmian didn’t mind Lu Shiran going out for drinks, but he had promised to be home by ten and it was already past ten-fifteen with no sign of Lu Shiran.

Lu Xingmian stood by the door, holding a clothes hanger while waiting. How dare he come back so late? He was definitely going to teach him a lesson tonight.

At ten-thirty, Lu Shiran finally returned.

As soon as he walked in the door, he carried the scent of alcohol and a faint smell of smoke.

The moment he entered, he saw his little lover holding a clothes hanger.

Lu Shiran: “Laopo[mfn]Wife[/mfn], I’m home.”

Lu Xingmian waved the hanger: “Tell me, do you know you were wrong?”

Lu Shiran laughed: “I do.”

Lu Xingmian: “What did you do wrong?”

“I shouldn’t have come home so late after going out drinking.” Lu Shiran explained, “Laopo, but the smell of smoke on me isn’t mine; it’s Zheng Minyou’s. I didn’t smoke.”

Lu Shiran had completely quit smoking, so the smoke smell was from his friend.

“Didn’t you say you’d be back at ten? Why did you come home late?”

Lu Shiran’s attitude about admitting his mistake was perfect. He proactively extended his right hand: “I was wrong. I’m ready for Laopo’s punishment.”

Lu Xingmian hit his husband’s right hand with the clothes hanger. Snap, snap, snap—the sound was loud, but it didn’t actually hurt at all. Lu Shiran watched him with a wide smile.

President Lu stood obediently at the door while letting his wife discipline him.

Lu Xingmian spoke as he kept hitting: “That’ll teach you to come home late next time!”

“If you come home late again, I won’t let you sleep in the bedroom. You’ll sleep in the living room by yourself.”

Lu Shiran: “Laopo, I bought you a strawberry yogurt drink.”

At this, Lu Xingmian immediately stopped hitting: “Really?”

Lu Shiran brought his other hand from behind his back and revealed the cold strawberry yogurt drink, no wonder he’d kept his hands behind his back since walking in.

Lu Xingmian happily took a sip of the yogurt drink. Lu Shiran asked, “Can you forgive me now considering that I brought you your drink?”

He handed the clothes hanger over to Lu Shiran and generously said, “I forgive you. Don’t let it happen again.”

His Lu Xingmian was simply too easy to coax.

Seeing Lu Xingmian enjoy his drink so much, Lu Shiran was curious: “Is it good?”

Lu Xingmian brought the straw to his husband’s mouth: “Try it, it’s delicious.”

He took a sip from the straw. The flavor was indeed good, it was was cool with a slightly sour and sweet taste.

In truth, Lu Shiran could have been home on time, but on his way back, he had the driver take a detour to specially buy the milk tea for Lu Xingmian, which was why he was late.

While drinking with his friends, they had urged Lu Shiran not to rush home so early. They all knew Lu Xingmian was a gentle, soft person and he knows that they were out drinking as well, so they figured they could all enjoy a good time tonight.

But Lu Shiran had insisted on leaving, reminding he had told Lu Xingmian that he would be back early; otherwise, Lu Xingmian might not be able to sleep. So he left promptly as planned.

Knowing that someone at home was waiting for him, Lu Shiran would always return no matter where he was or what he was doing.

Many people thought that Lu Xingmian was the kite in the sky and Lu Shiran was the one holding the string; and with a single tug, the kite would obediently return.

But they were all wrong. Lu Shiran was actually the kite while Lu Xingmian was the one holding the string.

After Lu Xingmian finished his strawberry yogurt drink, Lu Shiran immediately pulled him into the bathroom: “Laopo, take a shower with me.”

Lu Xingmian: “I already showered.”

Lu Shiran: “It’s fine. You’ll have to shower again later anyway.”

Then, exquisite sounds began to drift from the bathroom.

oh so if the “former Lu Group” is Lu Xingmian’s biological family’s company, does that mean Lu Shiran/Lu Yu’s company acquired them? 😂
