The conflicting thoughts arose – is this not the same woman? Or had she also adopted an alias, just as he had?
Perhaps she too felt he resembled the son she had abandoned. The thin wall between reality and fantasy was crumbling.
Sipping the flavourless coffee, they made idle chit-chat. Tasuku used his host skills to draw her out. Women like her tended to indulge in self-absorbed rambling, and this one was no exception.
Emboldened by the alcohol, she became increasingly self-absorbed. When he casually inquired about her family, she adopted an exaggeratedly anguished expression.
“…I’m such a horrible woman. I can’t believe how cruel I’ve been.”
“Horrible? In what way?”
Leaning in close, she confessed in a nasal voice.
“I abandoned my children.”
Feigning surprise, Tasuku listened as she wistfully recounted:
“Children just cling to you so desperately, trapping you. Being around them, I felt like I was drowning. So before they could kill me, I ran away.”
Tasuku slowly closed his eyes.
At this point, whether the woman before him was his mother, or merely someone resembling her, no longer mattered.
Hearing those words he had expected all along come directly from the woman’s mouth, the ripples of emotion calmed. The only image reflected in his tranquil heart was that of Kairi.
His one and only family.
That is the person who occupied his entire being, beyond mere family.
“I really did such terrible things to my children. They must hate me, don’t they?”
The woman spoke these insincere words in a rapturous tone.
Tasuku finally understood why he had wanted to talk to this woman.
He opened his eyes and enlightened her.
“Your children just clung to you out of instinct, not because they needed you. They’re doing just fine without you.”
The woman’s face contorted with agitation and indignation, as if he had suddenly taken away her masturbatory tool.
“But- but those kids were so clingy and annoying, always clinging to me!”
“They’re happy.”
“Huh?”
“Even without you, your children are living well and truly happy.”
He had always wanted to tell ‘that woman’ just that.
She was never needed beyond being their mother. Her absence had not hindered their happiness in the slightest.
The thick layers of makeup seemed to sag, making the woman appear a decade older.
Perhaps this woman was not his actual mother after all.
Tasuku watched with a smile as she stormed out, the click of her heels echoing.
――But thanks to you leaving, I could make Kairi mine alone.
“Thank you, mom,” he murmured.
He never imagined he would one day be grateful to ‘that woman’.
He drained the now cold coffee, tasting the bittersweet flavour spreading across his revived taste buds.
――Time to go back. To Kairi.
He couldn’t wait to see him.
As Tasuku opened the door to leave the cafe, his eyes widened. Standing before him was the very person he had been longing to see.
“Aniki… What are you doing here?” Tasuku asked with a serious expression.
“I thought your work would be ending around now, so I came to pick you up. The manager told me you were here with a female customer.”
Kairi’s eyes darted around, searching for the woman. Sensing the jealousy radiating from him, Tasuku’s expression softened.
“Nah, she’s long gone. She was just some woman I didn’t care about at all.”
He gently pinched and tugged on the rounded lobe of Kairi’s ear, whispering softly while delving into its depths.
“I only want you, Kairi.”
Up close, Kairi’s dark irises glistened. The piercing on the tip of his brother’s dick was likely getting wet as well.
“Tasuku,” Kairi murmured sweetly, almost pleadingly.
“Let’s go home, quickly.”
“Of course.”
The two descended the stairs together.
At the bottom, the tranquil night air opened its calm embrace.

*Author’s Postscript:
Hello. I’m Fuyuko Sano.
This book is the paperback edition of a previously published novel with the same title. The main story remains unchanged, but I’ve added a newly written side story.
I remember struggling to write the kind of love that is unique to brothers. It’s family love, romantic love, and even the kind of twisted emotions that can arise from being too close—something only families can experience. That’s what I wanted to capture.
Tasuku (the younger brother) is like a ‘cat Seme’. He cries naturally during tense scenes, and I clearly remember thinking, “Oh, he’s crying here?” while writing it. It left a strong impression on me. Haha.
When writing a story, I submit character settings and an outline with plot points like the introduction, development, turn, and conclusion to the editor. But there are always things you can’t really see until you start layering the story from the first sentence. The way characters react, especially—that becomes clear only when you reach certain parts. This is something I find fascinating.
In the newly written side story, ‘A Calm Night’, Tasuku is still obsessing over his older brother. But their unique relationship has settled into their everyday lives—it’s become their ‘normal life’. Tasuku is now grounded in reality, doing his best to maintain his life with Kairi.
There’s also mention of the mother who abandoned them. But it’s unclear whether the mother in the side story is the real one or not. That doesn’t really matter. What’s important is that the mother is completely gone from the brothers’ world, allowing their world to become quiet and free of any disturbances.
A big thank you to Masara Minase-sensei for the illustrations. When I reopened the book, I found myself staring at the illustrations again and again. The little brothers are just too adorable! And I truly love this cover image.
And to my editor, thank you for all your hard work with the paperback edition. I’m so glad this work is now more accessible.
Lastly, I want to thank everyone who picked up this book. If there’s even a small part of it that you enjoyed, I couldn’t ask for more as an author.

*Translator’s Note: Tasuku finally called her ‘mom’. I guess he finally found closure as well. Not sure if that was really their mother. I guess we’ll never know… Anyway, that’s the end, guys! Thank you so much for reading this translation! I’m in love with Fuyuko Sano’s works and have been reading more of her works which I will of course share with you guys in the near future. I know this story might not be everyone’s cup of tea but I would like to thank you anyway for not dropping horrible comments despite how you feel. I highly respect people who are able to respect others that might not share the same value as them. In the future, I will be translating stories that might be immoral to other people such as incest or 3P. That’s my kind of thing. Among those normal sweet ones too, of course. You can read if you want and leave if you don’t. But to those who had been reading and liking the same kind of thing as me, we’re buddies until the end. I’ll be sipping beer in hell waiting for my buddies to accompany me too hahahaha! -K
