GTRSH Chapter 54

Group Photo

Today’s MVP was Yu Xinche, but the jungler went to the post-match interview session because He Ci and him have been interviewed more frequently recently.

While waiting for his teammates to finish the interview, Yu Xinche took out his cell phone and turned on the data.

In today’s third game, Yu Xinche even imagined whether SUG would replace DEATH and let Ke Yiqi take over.

It turned out that he was still too naive.

Calculating the time, it has been more than a month since Ke Yiqi was bought by SUG in the training camp. Yu Xinche searched and found that he had not played a single game.

Feeling a little worried about his friend, Yu Xinche hesitated for a while before opening the chat box with Ke Yiqi.

Unexpectedly, the screen showed “The other party is typing”.

Yu Xinche was in no hurry to type, and was ready to wait and see what he would say. As a result, after waiting for a minute or two, Ke Yiqi deleted and revised, and his input status was sometimes on and sometimes off, but he never sent a message.

Yu Xinche sent him an emoticon and asked him:

– What are you doing? It took you so long to type.

Ke Yiqi:

– ?

– You saw it

After a brief pause he continued:

– Oh, nothing. I just want to say you played really well today, so damn awesome, hahahaha

– Although we also played pretty well too

After saying these four sentences and sighing twice, Yu Xinche felt anxious for him. He asked:

– Are you here today?

– Ke Yiqi: I’m here, looking at the water dispenser

– Ke Yiqi: [Water dispenser picture.jpg]

– Yu Xinche: Why don’t we talk in person? Typing is so slow.

– Ke Yiqi: Sure, which room are you in?

– Yu Xinche: Wait a minute.

He first asked He Ci: “Do you still remember my previous teammate? The one who was bought by SUG.”

He Ci was sitting on the same sofa with him. He had turned on the power saving mode and was slumped in the sofa. Hearing what he said, he looked over and said “hmm”.

“Can I go talk to him for a while?”

He Ci looked at him for two seconds before speaking, seeming a little confused: “Are you reporting to me?”

“Ah…” Yu Xinche was stunned for a moment, then realized that his words were ambiguous. “No, I want to ask if this is legal? He is considered our opponent in this match. Is it okay for us to be photographed while communicating privately?”

“Oh.”

“So……?”

“No problem, we can say hello after the game. But the handshake meeting is coming up soon, so I think we can wait until the whole process is completed before meeting.”

“All right.”

What He Ci said made sense. Yu Xinche sent a message to Ke Yiqi, and they agreed to talk in detail later.

After the handshake meeting, there would be an interview with the entire team for the e-sports media, which would last approximately 10-20 minutes.

The remaining four members of TZ were either quiet and cool, or talked nonsense and trash. In the words of fans, “all four are pretentious kings.”

This was not the case with Yu Xinche. Xu Le had said before that he could be the official spokesperson, and now it seemed that Xu Le’s expectation was completely correct.

Even though he was very tired after the game, Yu Xinche still answered the questions clearly and slowly. He had good language expression skills, and what he said was logically clear and there was almost no nonsense.

Each of his answers could be regarded as a textbook example of an answer, which was a breath of fresh air among the professional players who were full of bullshit kings.

However, since he was a new player and not as popular as his teammates, so there were relatively few questions directed at him previously. He mostly sat aside and relaxed, quietly being an accessory.

However, he played so well today that the frequency of questions he was asked increased dramatically, and by the end he felt his throat was tired.

“The next question is for BREEZE. A few days ago you announced your pseudonym PURE. Everyone knows that when FIX first contacted you you said you didn’t know him. How did you get to know him later?”

This question has crossed the line a bit. Not only is it unrelated to the game, it was also a sensitive topic.

Yu Xinche thought for a moment before picking up the microphone: “I said I would search for him and I really did. I found that this player was very good-looking, so I had an impression of him and got to know him… After all, everyone knows that I like good-looking people.”

He avoided their question very cleverly, and several media representatives in the audience laughed when they heard it.

“Hahaha.”

“Then I’d like to ask how BREEZE felt during the bidding phase of the draft. Did you decide on TZ a long time ago, so you felt relieved, or were you a little nervous?”

Yu Xinche glanced at the name of this media outlet. He had never heard of it. Perhaps they wanted to take an unconventional approach and attract attention by using such a private issue.

He held the microphone in his hand but didn’t answer.

This question was clearly setting a trap for him to jump into. How can he feel at ease? He can only feel at ease after he had contacted TZ in advance and confirmed the final outcome. He would feel at ease after the dust had settled.

As for his nervousness, it means that he had not contacted TZ, or the talks had broken down.

No matter how he answered, it would reveal the information about the negotiations between TZ and him at that time.

Yu Xinche couldn’t think of a suitable response for a moment, and he felt that as a newcomer, being so silent seemed like he was putting on airs, which was not very polite.

So he moved his knees flexibly and bumped He Ci’s legs behind the long table where the audience couldn’t see.

Initiate a request for help.

He Ci received it and understood it very well. He almost immediately took the microphone from him and said, “Ask me something about the competition. If you want a private interview, you can send it to TZ’s email.”

“…Okay, okay.” The media didn’t really want to offend He Ci, so they changed the subject, “Then does BREEZE have anything to say to everyone?”

He Ci handed the microphone over again, and Yu Xinche perked up: “I hope everyone will pay more attention to my performance in the game, rather than me.”

After saying that, he smiled at the camera, sweetly and full of energy.

There were no more problems in the subsequent interviews. At the end, a familiar media outlet chatted with them for a while, praising Yu Xinche for being smart and saying that he spoke well. It was obvious that several of the interviewers were very happy.

Yu Xinche was not overly modest. When he heard this, he just said, “It’s my duty. Everyone is very friendly.”

When they came out of the interview room of the winning group, there was no one left in the losing group.

Yu Xinche saw the message Ke Yiqi sent a few minutes ago, saying that he had finished the interview and was waiting for him in the lounge.

He said something to He Ci and went to SUG to look for someone.

Only Ke Yiqi was left there. When Yu Xinche pushed the door open, he was standing alone, leaning against the table. His hair was a little longer, and his bangs almost covered his eyes.

“Are you okay?” Yu Xinche was usually a gentle person, but when facing someone he cares about, he becomes straightforward. “What’s the situation now? Will there be a chance to play later?”

Ke Yiqi also seemed to be shocked by his directness. He was silent for a while before saying, “Not bad. I should be able to play in the second half.”

“You still remember me saying I like FIX’s style? I play a more stable style. If I’m not sure, I don’t want to go up and exchange blood, but Tang Xi likes to go up and fight… uh, I’m not saying anything bad about him.”

Yu Xinche: “Yeah, I know.”

“Anyway, Tang Xi and I played the bottom lane together, and we both had a hard time playing. Also, we were both new players with little experience, and we didn’t have He Ci to dictate the tempo like you guys did during the game, so after we were bought over, the bottom lane was torn apart in every practice match.”

Yu Xinche thought thoughtfully: “DEATH came after this?”

“Yes. It seems that he was originally planning to retire and not play anymore. Because Tang Xi and I really couldn’t play well, he came to help out temporarily. SUG meant that I should learn from him first, and then practice laning, and then play after I have a better understanding with him.”

That didn’t sound as bad as he had imagined. Yu Xinche felt a little better. “Is the atmosphere okay? If you don’t cooperate well, will there be any unhappiness in private?”

Tang Xi also seemed to have the temper of a young master. He was the starter and Ke Yiqi was just a substitute, so their status were different.

“Hey, I thought he would cause trouble, but he didn’t. He just looks arrogant, but he’s actually a nice guy. We also play duo in private, and now it’s much better than at the beginning. He even plays in scrims with me.”

“Oh, let’s not talk about me. You hid it so well!” Ke Yiqi patted Yu Xinche’s shoulder, “So you are the Mist girl that He Ci had a car accident with before.”

“I’m sorry it wasn’t convenient to say it before.”

“It’s okay, I understand.”

At this time, Yu Xinche’s cell phone rang. He Ci called him and asked him if he had finished chatting.

Yu Xinche said he’ll be done soon.

After hanging up the phone, he asked Ke Yiqi: “How are you going back? Is there someone waiting for you?”

“They went to eat nearby and sent me their location. It’s very close. I can just walk over.”

“We are also going out to eat. Which restaurant are you going to?” Yu Xinche said.

The two compared the addresses and found that the two teams chose the same place to eat.

“Then let’s go together.”

Yu Xinche and Ke Yiqi left the lounge, found TZ and the others, and walked to a nearby restaurant together.

The restaurants around the venue had long been known to the teams, so it was not uncommon to bump into the teams that would be playing that day. If they had a good relationship, they may even share a table.

The relationship between SUG and TZ is okay, but the two sides just finished a bloody BO3, and it was obviously difficult for them to sit together calmly.

On the way there, TZ and his friends walked in front, while Yu Xinche and Ke Yiqi were not far behind, still chatting.

When they were almost there, Yu Xinche called out to He Ci, and He Ci stopped to wait for them.

“What’s wrong?”

Ke Yiqi took a half step forward, opened his puppy eyes wide, and said in a typical fanboy tone: “God Ci, can we take a photo together?”

He Ci didn’t expect that this person was his fan, so he agreed a little bit late: “Okay.”

“I’ll take the picture.” Yu Xinche took Ke Yiqi’s phone and took a picture of them.

“He Ci smile.”

He Ci’s lips curled up a little.

“Smile again, it’s a little fake now.”

The corners of He Ci’s lips curved a little more.

“Aiya——” Yu Xinche leaned over and poked his head out from behind his phone, “Why is your smile getting more and more fake, God Ci?”

Ke Yiqi was afraid that He Ci would get annoyed and leave, so he quickly said, “It’s okay, any expression is fine, I’m not picky at all, just shoot it like this, Xiao Che.”

After he finished speaking, He Ci tilted his head to look at him, then looked at Yu Xinche.

Yu Xinche was still looking at him with his head tilted. When he saw He Ci looking at him, he curved his mouth into a very obvious arc, demonstrating to He Ci how to smile.

A little silly, like one of those little animals that try to imitate humans.

In the end, He Ci cooperated and took several photos with different expressions and poses. When Ke Yiqi saw the finished product, he almost knelt down to Yu Xinche. He was flattered that his idol actually made a “V” sign over his head.

After adding another HIT friend, Ke Yiqi entered his team’s private room with satisfaction.

Everyone in TZ had already gone in. Yu Xinche and He Ci went up to the second floor to find their room.

“You’re very close.” He Ci said suddenly.

“Yes, it’s okay. He lived next door to me during training, and we often ordered milk tea together.” Yu Xinche explained.

After he finished speaking, he realized that He Ci’s tone was not right. He observed He Ci’s expression for a moment and said tentatively: “But I am still closer with you.”

“Yeah?”

His complexion seemed to be better.

“Yes.”

Yu Xinche found a solution to the problem, answered it quickly, and praised him immediately: “I only played with him in the bottom lane for three days, and I played with you for more than thirty days, so of course I am closer with you.”

Although he was telling the truth, he wasn’t exactly speaking from the heart. There was even a hint of deception in his words – as long as He Ci was happy, he could exaggerate his words if necessary.

As they were talking, they had already reached the door of the private room. He Ci stopped and looked at him with his head slightly lowered.

Yu Xinche also raised his head and blinked at him twice with an innocent expression, as if asking “what’s the matter”.

He Ci didn’t say anything, just shook his head: “It’s okay. I found that you are really good at coaxing people.”

Yu Xinche didn’t feel embarrassed when his “sweet talk” was exposed. He blinked again and said, “Does it work for you too? Then I will continue to work hard.”
