Has The Lord’s Career Chart Been Filled Today? – Chapter 240

After hearing the words of the god-king, Deyth was utterly stunned on the spot.

He remained frozen in place for a long time before his consciousness finally returned along with those memories—then, under the god-king’s smiling gaze, his face flushed crimson, and after letting out a sharp, miserable cry, he vanished abruptly like a wisp of smoke.

Watching the young Deyth, who couldn’t accept reality anytime soon, depart, the god-king with beautiful golden hair as radiant as sunlight couldn’t help but smile again.

He gently pressed the shyly blooming rose in his hand—which was lingeringly rubbing its soft petals against his snow-white, delicate palm—against his chest.

In an instant, the pale pink rose experienced a happiness it never dared dream of: enveloped by that gentle divine power, it naturally “merged” into the white robe, as if it had been embroidered as a rose pattern on the chest of the garment from the very beginning.

Formed from the core of the divine realm, the Will of the Laws, and the World Origin, the god-king was undoubtedly the firstborn among the deities, the most powerful, and the most purely beautiful existence.

He didn’t need to expend divine power like other deities to release his divine sense and survey his surroundings.

His every move, every thought, was captured by the omnipresent Will of Law and known to him.

Unless the world perished, he would indeed never dissipate and could never be harmed—the only one capable of sealing him was himself.

When that truly immense and surging power, along with memories and knowledge, flooded into his mind, the god-king—who had just broken the seal and returned to his position and currently preferred to call himself “Oliver”—this supreme being among the deities, couldn’t help but fall into a brief slumber.

He was then hastily sent back to the divine realm by the Will of Law, which feared his power might spiral out of control.

As it turned out, this precaution was entirely necessary.

When the golden-haired god-king’s gaze fell upon a starkly broken white marble pillar, he quickly averted his eyes and, with an innocent expression, began using his divine power to repair his severely damaged divine temple.

Clearly.

The only one bold enough to damage the divine pillars in this temple was the god-king himself, who couldn’t precisely control his divine power upon waking—the moment he opened his eyes, the snow-white temple within his sight was instantly destroyed and collapsed under the surge of his formidable divine power.

As for why he had deliberately exposed the past events to make Deyth so embarrassed… of course, it was intentional.

Oliver calmly made his way to the deepest part of the palace and, after sitting down on the flawless throne radiating a soft white glow, sighed quietly, gently rubbing his slightly aching brow.

He felt somewhat impatient.

Although it was his own divine power, having lived as a human in the mortal world for so many years, it felt as if there was a thin barrier preventing him from manipulating it as he wished.

But it wouldn’t take much longer: just a little more time, and he would fully integrate the memories of both identities.

Then, he could peacefully go retrieve his beloved “big cat” lover left in the mortal world.

While he rested with his eyes closed, recovering on his own, the other deities, sensing the god-king’s presence and the stirrings of the Will of Law, gradually awakened one by one.

The first to awaken was the Rose Goddess, who had recently caused him to fall into a second long slumber and stubbornly collapsed in the location where the god-king’s temple once stood—she was also the earliest to be roused by the god-king’s aura.

The resplendent and graceful Rose Goddess rose lightly to her feet, gazing dazedly at the divine temple that had haunted her dreams.

After confirming this was no longer her illusion, she drew a small, sharp breath and couldn’t help covering her tear-drenched face.

After weeping softly for a while, she eagerly wiped away her tears and entered with red-rimmed eyes and light steps—just as she had done every bright morning for thousands of years, when she would joyfully bring the most beautiful rose to offer to her most adored Majesty.

Following the Rose Goddess’s awakening was Sunn, the powerful god of light.

The deity governing light and sun possessed a perfect physique that no mortal craftsman could ever carve.

Emerging from long slumber without memories of its torment, he felt as if he’d only had a brief dream.

Upon realizing his Majesty’s return, his handsome face—previously somewhat bewildered—broke into a joyful smile.

His body naturally radiated brilliant light, making the mortal world’s sunlight seem many times brighter than usual. Meanwhile, the deity governing sunshine had already rushed to the towering divine temple beside his own and, guided by the rose fragrance left by his predecessor, proceeded toward the inner chambers.

Every place he passed became more radiant and brilliant through his divine power.

Deities awakened one after another: Following Sunn, god of light, came his longtime rival Vor, deity of war, who also immediately headed for the god-king’s temple. Then came the Goddess of Harvest: Havest, God of Wisdom: Wisdom, Goddess of Night: Evening[mfn]伊芙琳(Yī fú lín)[/mfn], God of Spring: Spring [mfn]斯普灵(Sī pǔ líng)[/mfn]…

The gardens that had lain dormant with the temple’s master now burst into simultaneous bloom, endless vibrant colors intimately embracing the pristine white majestic temple.

Plants blessed with divine power by the secretly competing deities grew in spectacular variety—lush foliage, blooming flowers, even fruit trees heavy with bounty. Their sweet fragrance flowed through the air, carried by Breeze[mfn]布里兹(Bù lǐ zī)[/mfn], God of Wind, into the beautiful chamber where the god-king resided.

When the newly-born God of Wealth—who had never met most of these deities—arrived following his young partner’s scent, he found himself last in line.

His tardiness had a simple reason: Ollie had suddenly fainted, but the capital still had numerous matters requiring attention.

Unwilling to let Ollie’s hard work go to waste, though utterly unskilled and uncomfortable, he had an inspiration: transforming into Ollie’s form and clumsily imitating his lover’s usual methods to handle the aftermath.

His composure stemmed from another reason: though he couldn’t explain why, the god-king’s divine power undoubtedly possessed a soothing quality no deity could resist.

He intuited: Ollie was in the divine realm, and safe.

Thus he painfully resisted immediately returning to the divine realm to find Ollie, instead handling Ollie’s affairs one by one for him.

As for other matters… he temporarily didn’t know how to proceed, needing to wait for Ollie’s decisions.

But, Ollie?

The tall and handsome golden-haired deity tilted his head slightly, gazing unblinkingly through the crowd of deities that nearly filled the innermost hall toward the beautiful god-king seated upon the throne.

Though it wasn’t the familiar form of his little companion, that distinctive aura was something he would never mistake.

This was his beloved little companion.

His eyes lowered slightly. Amid the cheerful laughter and conversation of the divine beings, this distance felt particularly vast and unfamiliar.

The bright golden light in his eyes seemed to dim bit by bit.

“My dear cat god.”

A voice as melodious as a babbling spring, tinged with amusement, broke through: “Why don’t you come closer?”

—The faint disappointment in his eyes vanished instantly.

What ceased abruptly was the continuous stream of laughter.

The deities who had been desperately trying to get closer to their most missed Majesty, yet were firmly blocked by powerful gods like Sunn and Vor occupying the steps nearest to the throne, and could only sit resentfully in the front—almost simultaneously turned their sharp gazes filled with curiosity, scrutiny, confusion, shock, envy, and even hostility toward him.

However, the God of Wealth, with his pointed golden cat ears and the large fluffy tail that the god-king adored most, paid no mind to their stares.

He immediately lifted his gaze, his sparkling golden pupils meeting those sea-blue gem-like eyes.

The owner of those beautiful blue eyes was smiling gently at him, calling out affectionately once more: “Come here, my little cat.”

Upon receiving dear Oliver’s summons, the cat-eared deity—completely unconcerned about the form of address—immediately dashed over.

The god of light, who had previously been closest to the throne, widened his eyes in disbelief: “Your Majesty!”

“Ollie!”

As if deliberately, or perhaps to dispel his own unease, he called out loudly enough to drown out the god of light’s voice.

“Ollie” was certainly not the true name inherent in the god-king’s divinity—but unless the laws of existence were to take physical form one day, no divine being could withstand the divine power shockwaves caused by directly calling the god-king’s true name.

Before that, all divine beings would only address the ruler of the gods, the most beautiful existence between heaven and earth, either reverently or with deep admiration as “Your Majesty.”

The smile on Oliver’s lips deepened, growing even more tender as he indulgingly responded: “Mm.”

Then, under the incredulous gazes of all the gods, this cat-eared deity who had come running over actually—actually tightly embraced their most adored god-king!!!

Holding the divine body filled with the familiar scent of roses, the cat-eared god’s sensitive ear tips received gentle comfort.

The slight tension brought by stress quietly dissipated along with it.

“Everyone, be seated.”

The smiling god-king, while gently stroking the fluffy cat ears, gestured to the god of light and other divine beings who had stood up agitatedly, glaring furiously at this utterly shameless golden cat: “It brings me great joy to see you all again, and your timing is perfect. I have two important matters I wish to announce to you.”

“First,” he declared in a tone that sounded light as clouds yet brooked no argument, “This is &%&%, the new deity presiding over wealth.”

This was likely the only deity to receive a personal introduction from the God-King himself—and also the one who appeared before all the gods in the most… most detestable form.

Yet what sent divine powers surging violently and nearly drove the gods to tear the God of Wealth from His Majesty’s side was the next statement from the sovereign.

With eloquence as exquisite as His appearance, the God-King—whose words brought genuine delight to listeners—gazed at the repulsive large cat with unprecedented tenderness and love that none had ever witnessed, then dropped the next thunderbolt:

“He is also my only consort, my most beloved partner—the Cat God.”

He declared with a smile.

Every seated deity instinctively rose to their feet—particularly the God of Light Sunn and the God of War Vor. These eternal rivals, usually divided by their numerous followers and conflicts, now stood united in rare solidarity, directing hostile glares at the shameless new god still clinging to His Majesty.

The other deities wore dazed expressions, doubting they had awakened from a dream.

Amid the eerie silence, only the Rose Goddess remained expressionless.

Tilting her head, her bewildered gaze shifted between His Majesty and the God of Wealth. She remembered clearly the God of Wealth’s profound devotion to his unnamed beloved… so what… what could have happened during His Majesty’s disappearance?!

Recalling her own foolish words, her daze gave way to trembling fury.

She had… dug her own grave, proving more foolish than even Deyth, by personally using her divine power to bless that wretched cat and his lover!!

“Almighty Majesty,” the God of Light spoke first, his brilliant eyes fixed on the God-King though his challenge was unmistakably aimed at the newly minted enemy of all gods, “You remain as radiant and flawless as ever, and seeing You again brings me sincere joy. Yet your words have deeply saddened me. This… this newborn deity doesn’t possess even one ten-thousandth of Your glory—why should he become the Divine Empress—”

“Dear Sunn.”

The God-King gently interrupted him, smiling. “That relates precisely to the second matter I wish to address.”

Sunn frowned but unhesitatingly chose obedience. “Yes, Your Majesty.”

“To be precise, before you continue questioning, we must settle accounts.”

The God-King gazed cheerfully at the suddenly pale-faced deities, his tone still leisurely. Yet any god remotely familiar with His Majesty’s temperament could detect the gathering storm in his displeasure: “I merely fell into temporary slumber, ceasing to watch over you… and you chose to do nothing? Explain yourselves to me.”

While the majestic God-King meticulously settled scores with the errant deities, the newly appointed Divine Empress had cunningly shifted into a much smaller large-cat form compared to his humanoid shape.

Basking openly in the envious and jealous stares of the gods, he lounged lazily across Ollie’s straight, slender legs, eyes closed in restful bliss—solely enjoying divine favor.

The long tail, relaxed and slightly curled, arrogantly displayed His extremely good mood at this moment.

Ollie.

This Cat-eared “Divine Empress” was thinking cheerfully, still His Ollie… His most beloved Ollie…

After an unknown length of time, the deities who had been reprimanded and then suffered the mental trauma of the suddenly appearing “Divine Empress” finally departed dejectedly.

They had been temporarily expelled from the God-King’s divine temple—His Majesty had personally declared that they were not to return until the mess was cleaned up.

What they didn’t know was that the moment they left, the God-King, who had rarely reprimanded them with such authority, immediately returned to His gentle and soft demeanor.

“Sorry to keep you waiting.”

The owner of the most beautiful blue eyes in the world smiled as He picked up the large cat that had been patiently waiting for a very, very long time. He gently kissed the tip of its furry ear and chuckled softly, “This is your reward.”

In the next instant, the overjoyed golden cat transformed back into the form of a tall young man, though his face was flushed with a redness he was completely unaware of.

His eyes were completely fixed on His little partner who had suddenly become the God-King, yet He showed no curiosity about ‘why’—just as Oliver had never asked Him why He had taken so long to come.

He only asked seriously, “Ollie, are we returning to Gregor?”

“Of course.”

Oliver smiled gently and replied softly, “We mustn’t let Fosse and Loyel worry too much. Besides, before fully returning, I have some words to share with them.”

For some reason, the Cat-eared God became even happier upon hearing this and nodded vigorously. “Okay.”

Seeming to sense His lover’s unease, the smile on Oliver’s face grew even more tender.

“My little kitten.”

After a moment’s thought, He murmured the endearment, then cupped the face of His lover—who was kneeling on one knee before His throne in a posture of absolute submission, like a brave knight pledging loyalty to his lord.

“My little lover.”

Like the most enchanting melody of a singer, like the most passionate recitation of a poet.

He smiled and gently pressed a kiss to the lips of the golden-haired youth.

In this moment, He also fully understood the meaning behind the description in the so-called “game system” regarding the slingshot blessed by the God of Wealth, back when only one seal remained.

As His young lover returned the kiss with clumsy eagerness, the God-King indulgently closed His eyes. In His heart, He envisioned a pure white realm veiled in wispy clouds and silently recited:

‘My will is your will, my will is also the divine will.

—Just as your love is my joy.’
