ISWMQ – Chapter 110

Rong Guang had actually been trying her best to stay awake.

Or, it would have been great if she could have maintained a light sleep, a state where she could wake up at any moment.

But unfortunately, perhaps because this performance had consumed far too much energy and stamina, the moment Rong Guang’s head hit the pillow and Chu Feiliang held her for a short while, she fell asleep just like that.

And she slept so soundly that thunder wouldn’t have woken her.

Only after Rong Guang had fallen asleep did Chu Feiliang’s gaze slowly drift to a small medicine bottle and a newly opened box on the bedside table.

The bottle was just an ordinary little white bottle; she had already disposed of the instruction leaflet inside.

The medicine bottle contained Sertraline, the last medication the doctor had prescribed for her. She had seen the same bottle at Tang Shi’s place. This one, she had specifically bought brand new from a pharmacy.

She had also deliberately placed it on the bedside table.

Rong Guang was so smart and cared so much about her. She would even ask if her throat was uncomfortable just because she drank a couple more sips of honey water… yet she didn’t actually pick up the medicine bottle to read the instructions.

Clearly, she already knew.

But even knowing, she was still willing to be so good to her.

Not only that, but she seemed even more… willing to cooperate with her.

Chu Feiliang couldn’t stop smiling. Looking at Rong Guang’s innocent and beautiful sleeping face, she couldn’t help but plant another big kiss on her.

A very loud smack.

Rong Guang hummed twice in her sleep, but she burrowed her head deeper into Chu Feiliang’s embrace. One hand must have found Chu Feiliang, and even in her sleep, her subconscious made her stroke Chu Feiliang’s back up and down.

Seeming to find it comfortable nestled in Chu Feiliang’s arms, Rong Guang’s head nuzzled closer to her.

The slight weight on her chest made Chu Feiliang feel completely at ease. Holding Rong Guang was like holding a life-sized doll. She couldn’t put her down, one moment squeezing Rong Guang’s hand, the next kissing her cheek. After a while, her gaze fell on the red beauty mark at the corner of Rong Guang’s eye, and unable to resist, she kissed it lightly.

This mole was once praised by the entire internet as the mole on everyone’s heart. Rong Guang’s every frown and smile was enhanced by this mole. Various show cameras would push in for extreme close-ups because of it. Rong Guang had also worked hard on her eye expressions, able to convey any stage persona vividly and deeply through her gaze.

Chu Feiliang still remembered how Rong Guang’s mole had once become a huge trend, leading to the “teardrop mole makeup” that many people still wore today.

Back then, many people also said that if they could kiss that mole, their life would be complete.

Chu Feiliang smiled softly, then she carefully kissed all around Rong Guang’s eyes.

Taking advantage of the fact that Rong Guang knew nothing, her actions became more and more audacious.

The next morning, Rong Guang’s head was splitting so badly it felt like it was about to crack open.

It wasn’t just her head.

The upper part of her body, from her brain all the way down to her throat, was in constant pain, as if her entire head was stuffed with cotton.

Below, her waist, her legs, and even her arms felt limp and weak. Even a little force would cause a sharp, needle-like pain. Her whole body felt boneless, unable to exert any strength.

“You’re awake?” When Chu Feiliang came in with a bowl of congee, she happened to see Rong Guang leaning against the headboard with a pained expression, her face scrunched up like a fresh custard bun, her eyes dazed, lost in thought about something.

Rong Guang shook her head, wanting to speak, but her throat seemed swollen. Even swallowing was difficult. She tried a couple of times but couldn’t make a sound.

The result of overusing her voice was indeed a bit of hoarseness… This state would take at least a few hours to recover from.

She sighed in frustration, her eyes looking even more moist.

“Have some water first.” Chu Feiliang looked both pained and self-reproachful. She couldn’t help but touch Rong Guang’s face and said, “Don’t rush to speak, rest for a bit. It’s my fault for not being more thoughtful. You were singing and dancing on stage for three or four hours straight without much rest yesterday, and then you ate spicy food last night…”

Rong Guang blinked. As she took the cup of water, she squeezed Chu Feiliang’s hand, then sat up a little and gently kissed Chu Feiliang’s cheek.

Although she didn’t speak, Chu Feiliang was stunned.

Rong Guang curved her eyes and smiled at her silently, already holding the cup and taking small sips.

It was a silent but very gentle reassurance.

Chu Feiliang paused, managing to resist the impulse to push her back onto the bed first thing in the morning.

The water must have had some honey in it, but the taste wasn’t strong, rather light. Yet her throat could still feel a hint of sweetness, without causing discomfort to her already extremely sensitive throat.

Rong Guang felt comforted. When she looked at Chu Feiliang, her eyes unconsciously curved up.

Her lips, warmed by the water, were red and moist. It was a bright sunny day outside, making them look even more glistening. Chu Feiliang couldn’t resist, lowering her head as if bewitched.

Rong Guang actively met her.

But before the two of them could truly kiss, they heard the sound of the room door opening.

“Aren’t you being a bit too blatant? This—big love letter just left in the small garden, aren’t you afraid…” Chu Siyue didn’t finish her sentence. Seeing the scene before her, she froze on the spot, the love letter still in her hand.

Rong Guang stiffened, her face instantly turning beet red. She threw back the covers and buried herself completely, the whole sequence of movements fluid and taking less than two seconds.

Chu Feiliang sat on the edge of the bed, having missed the kiss, feeling very lonely.

Her lips touched each other in lonely discontent. She turned her head with a resentful look and said, “Your timing is really perfect…”

Chu Siyue shrugged her shoulders, stared at the bed for a moment, and knowing Rong Guang couldn’t see, finally let a pained expression appear on her face, full of sighing and teasing.

Chu Feiliang reached out and took the love letter Rong Guang had written for her. She checked it several times to make sure it wasn’t damaged before putting it away in her drawer. She then walked out of the room with Chu Siyue and said, “Didn’t I lock the garden gate? How did you get in?”

Chu Siyue was speechless for a moment. Standing with her in the hallway, she said with a deadpan expression, “Let’s be reasonable. I usually use that place for work.”

“It’s also where I take my strolls.” Chu Feiliang, though in the wrong, was not lacking in confidence, still speaking with righteous conviction.

Chu Siyue pursed her lips, thinking of the glimpse she caught of Rong Guang’s appearance just now, and said, “First thing in the morning, you’re making her breakfast, brewing her tea…”

Her expression was a bit teasing. She tilted her head and said, “Should I be preparing a red envelope?”

“Go ahead.” Chu Feiliang nodded and smiled. “Give a generous one… but not too much, don’t want to scare her. And don’t be too harsh with your words, she’s very thin-skinned.”

Chu Siyue had been fed a bellyful of dog food first thing in the morning. Although she was sighing, she was still happy.

Hearing this, she nodded and said, “Alright, I just came up to take a look—Grandma has been anxious all morning. If you don’t go down soon, I really won’t be able to stop her from coming up to see for herself.”

Hearing this, Chu Feiliang immediately glanced downstairs and happened to meet her grandmother’s gaze, who was staring upstairs with shining eyes.

Thinking of the unknown possibilities, a layer of goosebumps instantly rose on her back. She said, “You’d better help me hold her back—”

The first time Rong Guang came, her grandmother at least knew it was their first meeting, that she had just returned, and that they had official business, so she had watched from a distance and didn’t interrupt much.

This second meeting, and in this manner… Chu Feiliang was worried her grandmother would scare Rong Guang into never coming to their house again.

That would be a huge loss.

Her other apartment, where she usually lived, didn’t have a sky garden. Although she and Rong Guang would move in there sooner or later, Rong Guang’s appearance in the small garden last night…

Chu Feiliang licked her lips, not just moved, but also tempted.

Moonlight, a garden, a beauty.

These three things combined with Rong Guang… Chu Feiliang’s throat tightened, and she couldn’t help but pinch it.

Chu Siyue went downstairs gracefully.

Then, on the stairs, in front of everyone upstairs and downstairs, she turned back and said to Chu Feiliang, “Remember to have her wear a turtleneck sweater later, at least cover it up a bit.”

No matter how thick-skinned Chu Feiliang was, facing the unconcealed smiles of the three people below, she couldn’t quite hold it together. She cleared her throat awkwardly and said randomly, “Got it.”

The three people below were her closest family, and they all knew about her little quirks.

Chu Feiliang always liked to put a little mark on things that were hers.

But Rong Guang was a living person. Chu Feiliang couldn’t exactly carve something on her, or draw something on her…

Draw something?

Chu Feiliang’s eyes suddenly lit up. She felt like she had just thought of something that could bring even more joy.

After entering the bedroom, she found that Rong Guang had already washed up.

The clothes she was wearing were a set prepared for her last night: a light-colored cotton shirt, a pair of fleece-lined blue jeans, and a white short-sleeved pullover shirt over it. She looked both obedient and fair-skinned.

Chu Feiliang watched for a while, reluctant to let Rong Guang change.

But after a night, the marks on Rong Guang’s neck hadn’t faded; in fact, there were a few more.

This was a bit hard to explain…

She felt a little melancholic.

When Rong Guang saw Chu Feiliang come in, she finally lowered the hand that was stroking her neck.

Then she walked up to Chu Feiliang, tugged at her clothes, and said in a low voice, “Sister, do you have any other clothes I can wear?”

Chu Feiliang blinked and smiled, “Other clothes? Is this set uncomfortable?”

“It’s comfortable.” Rong Guang was a bit embarrassed.

She tilted her head up, standing in front of Chu Feiliang, trying her best to let her see the marks on her neck, and said with a blush, “But… the marks on my neck are too obvious, and I have to go home today…”

Her voice hadn’t fully recovered. She spoke intermittently, and it was a bit difficult for her to produce sound, but it had a unique and cute breathy quality.

Chu Feiliang listened carefully. After a moment, she followed Rong Guang’s hand and touched her neck, saying, “Right, I forgot about that.”

Rong Guang let her stroke her neck up and down, enduring the waves of tingling sensation, pursed her lips, and hummed a soft ‘en’.

Chu Feiliang stared at the red marks, her smile growing wider. She said, “I just suddenly thought of something. You’re so shy now, but when we’re filming The Lover, those marks on your body, would it be more appropriate for me to suck them out, or for the makeup artist to create them?”

“Teacher Rong, care to give a reaction?” Chu Feiliang leaned closer to her, her voice coaxing. “What will we do then? You’ll have to walk around covered in marks, letting everyone see that all these on your body were bitten out by me.”
