Zhao Sheng never came back, not even to return the bowl. Shen Yunjie quickly forgot that he had a neighbor who owed him a bowl. These last couple of days, Xiao Ning was quarreling with him again, his face was as dark as the bottom of a pot.

Shen Yunjie was careful in every way, yet he still couldn’t earn a single proper glance from Xiao Ning. It all came down to their bedroom matters. In the past, whenever Xiao Ning wanted to rough him up in bed, Shen Yunjie always went along with it. But the night before last, he was truly exhausted. Halfway through, with Xiao Ning pinning him down, a painful, unbearable spasm seized his lower abdomen, and in a moment, cold sweat soaked his spine.

“Young Master… it hurts…” Shen Yunjie covered his lower abdomen, asking for mercy for the first time.

Xiao Ning’s expression instantly turned ugly. He had clearly been very careful for fear of hurting Shen Yunjie. Shen Yunjie was dizzy with pain, and, seizing the chance while Xiao Ning wasn’t paying attention, he couldn’t help but draw back, which completely enraged Xiao Ning. He shoved Shen Yunjie away fiercely before grabbing his clothes, got out of bed, pushed the door open, and sat down on the stairs to sulk.

Shen Yunjie dragged his aching body, inching toward him, step by step. He reached out to wrap his arms around Xiao Ning’s waist and said softly, “Young Master, let’s go back.”

Xiao Ning felt a little aggrieved. After sulking in silence for a long time, he finally said, “It couldn’t have hurt that much.”

Shen Yunjie rested his forehead wearily against Xiao Ning’s back and said tenderly, “En, it didn’t hurt. It’s just that I’m useless…”

“You did it on purpose.” Xiao Ning said resentfully.

Shen Yunjie sighed, “I know I was wrong.”

“It’s too late. I’ve already lost interest in you.” Xiao Ning’s heart was as hard as iron. “Shen Yunjie, it’s not as if you’re the only one for me.”

Shen Yunjie lifted his head slightly as he gazed at Xiao Ning’s now broad back before asking faintly, “Will Young Master still marry someone else later on?”

Xiao Ning said coldly, “Why shouldn’t I?”

Shen Yunjie gave a wry smile. “What kind of person does Young Master plan to find?”

Xiao Ning was taken aback; he had never considered this question. He could only reply, “What kind of person do you want me to find?”

Shen Yunjie turned his head to look at the tightly closed door of the small, warm room within their chamber and said seriously, “Someone who will be kinder to Xiao Yuan.”

Xiao Ning pulled Shen Yunjie away from behind him and pointed to the main door: “Get lost.”

And so, Shen Yunjie was locked outside the door by Xiao Ning for half the night, contemplating his transgressions.
