PCMWF Chapter 114

Good Morning

Thanks to Shen Minyan, the variety show “Little Feet Big Adventure” broke its viewership record again overnight. For this leg of the journey, the production team canceled the live broadcast. On one hand, they wanted to avoid another incident where a guest was cyberbullied. On the other hand, they wanted to maintain an air of mystery.

Although the Cen father and son had deserved the cyberbullying, any guest being bullied online would inevitably have a negative impact on the show. Netizens, unable to watch the live stream, were filled with complaints. Having no outlet for their frustration at not being able to see the little ones on a live broadcast, they flocked to Cen Zheping’s social media accounts to curse him out.

If it weren’t for him and Cen Yuankai, they wouldn’t have lost access to the livestreams. Netizens lamented that they had practically worn out the previous episodes from rewatching them so many times. But what did any of that have to do with the little one sleeping soundly in his father’s arms? According to the production team’s requirements, they needed to film some footage of the children waking up. So Shen Minyan got up at a little past six to remove the towel covering the camera.

He tidied the room a bit, then sat on the edge of the bed for a while, admiring his son’s adorable sleeping pose. After that, he climbed back under the covers, held the little guy, and went back to sleep. At exactly eight in the morning, the little one in the bed began to stir. First, a pair of little arms emerged from the blanket, five short fingers stretching wide in the air. His body squirmed restlessly under the covers.

The little guy tilted his head. Seeing that his dad was still asleep, he obediently turned over and buried his face in his little pillow, resting his chin on his hands and looking up at the rotating camera. In the lens, the little guy’s big, sparkling eyes blinked. His head followed the black camera lens as it moved. His rosy little mouth pouted, and his head of soft, fluffy curls stuck up in all directions.

The cameraman behind the lens had already fallen for him completely. Without any morning crankiness, the little guy woke up and entertained himself. His little hands played with his pillow, then he crawled from the head of the bed to the foot, where he hid under the blanket and tickled his father’s feet with his little fingers. Shen Minyan held back his laughter as long as he could, then threw the blanket aside with a whoosh. A little one with his bottom in the air was exposed. He covered his face with his hands, thinking this would make him invisible.

Shen Minyan laughed, sat up, and pulled the little guy into his arms. “Did Youyou sleep well last night?”

The little guy sat on his father’s lap and nodded. “Youyou slept very well. Did Dad sleep well?”

Shen Minyan efficiently took his son to wash up, answering as he went that he had also slept well. Su Youli was placed on a small stool in the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face by himself. Shen Minyan picked up a jar of children’s face cream, opened it, scooped out a dollop, and applied it to the little guy’s face.

The little guy cooperated by tilting his face up, reminding him, “Dad, be gentle.”

Last time, Big Brother had hurt his face when he wiped it. Silly Big Brother. Shen Minyan frowned, nodded, and looked serious. Children’s skin was delicate. He was afraid of hurting Su Youli, so his fingertips applied almost no pressure as he gently rubbed the cream into the little guy’s face. After applying the face cream, Shen Minyan’s back was already damp with sweat. Not only did he need to apply face cream, but also sunscreen and insect repellent spray.

Shen Minyan knew raising a child was troublesome, but he hadn’t realized just how troublesome it was. Especially on a tropical island, taking care of a child required even more attention. This was Shen Minyan’s first time caring for a child on his own. He could quickly and decisively choose the most advantageous plan from countless proposals, yet he struggled when it came to choosing clothes for his son.

The two suitcases, one large and one small, were mostly filled with Su Youli’s clothes, packed by Chu Ying and Tang Dou together. His son was so adorable that his parents wanted him to change outfits every hour. The little guy sat on the small sofa in his pajamas, looking at his father with confusion. Dad seemed very troubled. He had been staring for ages and still couldn’t decide what he would wear today. With a heave ho, the little guy jumped off the sofa, ran over in his slippers, crouched beside his father, and selected his outfit in one glance.

“Dad, Youyou will wear this!”

It was a sailor-style little outfit, blue and white with a sailor collar and a matching little hat. Tang Dou had even thoughtfully attached a photo of the little guy trying on the outfit to the transparent storage bag, making their choice much easier. Very considerate indeed. The little guy took the clothes to change. Shen Minyan was still debating what shoes to pair with them. He was still in his pajamas, his usually neatly combed hair hanging loosely over his forehead. His expression was serious and earnest.

It didn’t matter what he wore himself. Youyou had to look beautiful, comfortable, and suited to the weather and temperature. After the little guy changed into his sailor outfit, he came out to find his father still crouched in front of the suitcase, looking troubled.

“Dad, Youyou is dressed.”

The little guy had tried on this outfit before. Brother Xiao Tang had even taken his picture and made him spin around.

Shen Minyan was once again charmed. He smiled, helped him put on the little hat, and asked, “Did Mom say what shoes go with this outfit?”

The little guy scratched his face and shook his head. In the end, the little guy picked out a pair of white shoes to go with the outfit himself. Just as he finished putting on his shoes, there was a knock at the door. Pei Qiqi, standing at the door, had been waiting downstairs for a long time. Youyou still hadn’t come down. Youyou never slept in. Why was he so late today? Could he be sick?

“Auntie, I’m going to check if Youyou is awake yet.”

Hua Zhao paused in her bed-making and smiled. “Go ahead. Don’t run too fast.”

The little guy ran to open the door. As soon as it opened, he saw Brother Qiqi.

“Brother Qiqi, good morning!” The little guy was full of energy.

Pei Qiqi stood at the door, staring. Youyou looked so cute today.

He thought it and said it out loud: “Youyou, you’re so cute today.”

Praised by Brother Qiqi, the little guy happily shook his head. The little guy had known since he was little about returning favors, so he praised Pei Qiqi back.

“Brother Qiqi, you look really handsome today.”

Before Hua Zhao returned to the country, Pei Yi, a typical straight man who didn’t know how to dress a little boy, had bought a whole wardrobe of dark clothes based on Pei Qiqi’s preferences. When Hua Zhao returned and saw that depressing wardrobe, she gave Pei Yi an earful. Such a good-looking child should be dressed in vibrant, stylish clothes. Since then, Pei Qiqi’s wardrobe was completely taken over by his aunt. With Doctor Du’s help, Pei Qiqi’s acceptance of colors had greatly improved. He no longer wore all black.
