I’m saddened that this translation seems to have been dropped. Reading the MTL is enough to make you want to cry because so much of it is incomprehensible since Chinese is ridiculously hard to translate with MTL. Anyway, finished the story regardless because I could still blunder my way through and figure out roughly what was going on and it’s pretty good right up until the end where you can see that the author was getting tired of dragging out the story and just deus ex machina-ed the conflict resolution to provide a happy ending. I may have been willing to let them get away with this but for the fact that they stubbornly refused to give me the sex scene that I’d been waiting for. They barely even alluded to it, which is just a shame.

I’d give it a 5/10, trending toward 5.5/10. The story is decently fleshed out, the premise is moderately interesting despite the tired “system-bound transmigration” trope, the antagonists aren’t absolute idiots just waiting to be crushed, and the MC isn’t an idiot but also isn’t a casual genius either. Bad points are the plot resolution, that the MC’s psychological shadows aren’t adequately fleshed out or indicated in his behavior realistically, the ML is basically the golden finger for the MC throughout the entire story after their introduction, the MC’s ability to study for extreme periods of time are entirely unrealistic, and there’s rarely any sense of real danger to the pitfalls that the antagonists set for the MC because he’s just too good at fighting and has the ML to save him if it ever gets too sketchy. Despite these significant flaws, it was still enough to draw me in to see how it resolves and thus I gave it a higher score than I otherwise would have. Authors choosing to resolve the plot the way that this one did really pisses me off because it makes light of the rest of the story that I had otherwise been enjoying, so I might have been willing to be more favorable toward its flaws if they had actually run out the plot to the natural resolution after he graduated and tested into the college that the system required him to go to, but they didn’t go that route and just invalidated everything the MC struggled for. How irritating.
