SBWE Chapter 08

I wasn’t the only one stunned. The crowd of people who arrived after hearing the notification also stood frozen at the entrance of the inner containment room. It was Mr. Club who reacted swiftly, immediately rushing towards the outer room.

But even his speed couldn’t match Mr. Spade’s ability to shatter glass.

Mr. Spade loomed over me, his shadow engulfing me completely.

I shrank into myself like a frightened quail.

Mr. Spade grabbed me with one hand, snatched the Ragdoll cat from my arms, and roared at me, “Why is that damn cat here too?!”

Though I had never witnessed Mr. Spade in the late stages of his manic episode, I had seen others in similar states. Mr. Spade’s current condition was eerily identical.

Mr. Club clearly recognized the signs as well. He stood at the doorway and immediately said, “Don’t get agitated! Nashu (me) is a Guide!”

Though Mr. Club meant well, his words clearly only adding fuel to the fire.

Mr. Spade hurled the ragdoll cat across the room, the ragdoll cat let out a piercing shriek.

If the ragdoll cat had been a physical being instead of a Spiritual Body, it probably would have been splattered across the room in a bloody mess and perished on the spot.

Mr. Club swiftly recalled his Spiritual Body. “If you haven’t had enough fighting these past few days, we can continue now! But don’t make trouble for Nashu. His Spiritual Body has vanished, and his physical health is fragile.”

Mr. Spade flew into a rage. He let go of me and, in the blink of an eye, exchanged several blows with Mr. Club.

These two were definitely not normal Sentinels! Holy cow, this is an isolation room! An isolation room that had been reinforced tenfold! Before I could even react, they had moved from the outer room to the inner room, leaving the door, bed, and walls in ruins.

The Center Director screamed, “Stop! Stop fighting immediately!”

Mr. Spade’s mother immediately turned to a nearby nurse and said, “Quickly summon two… no, four Sentinels. Actually, just get every available Sentinel here to help.”

The medical staff retreated one after another as Mr. Spade fought with an absolute disregard for his own safety. Mr. Club grew angry and released his ragdoll cat. The ragdoll cat nimbly leaped from the edge of the overturned bed, launching itself onto Mr. Spade’s back. Just as the cat’s claws were about to strike Mr. Spade, I lunged forward, seizing the perfect angle to tackle Mr. Spade from behind, wrapping my arms tightly around his waist.

Fearing the ragdoll cat might accidentally harm me, Mr. Club immediately recalled it. Mr. Spade still tried to continue fighting, but I roared into his ear, exhausted and furious, “Are you three years old?! What’s with this fighting?! Isn’t the priority right now is for you to hurry up and spit out my Spiritual Body?!”

The moment I mentioned my Spiritual Body, Mr. Spade immediately deflated. He turned around to face me, scanning me from head to toe before finally asking, with a hint of remorse, “Are you alright?”

Though I’d been careful, my arm had taken a blow during the scuffle, and it throbbed with pain.

Now, Mr. Spade was being scolded and questioned by his mother and the attending physician, while Mr. Club was being taken for treatment of his injuries.

I was utterly drained. All I wanted was to find my Spiritual Body and go home for a good night’s sleep.
