WTDWPK Chapter 55

The Live Stream on the Boat

Fu Yuqian was too gentle, too good, and gave off a strong sense of security. There was absolutely no need to worry that he’d be tempted or swayed by the entertainment industry’s allure. After all, ever since the Fu Corporation announced his return to China, financial news outlets had reported on it for several days in a row. With Lin and Fu Yuan making a public appearance, everyone finally confirmed that Fu Yuqian was indeed the legendary third young master of the Fu family.

Because of that, people working with him often felt pressured, terrified of accidentally offending him and getting blacklisted.

During one of their calls, Fu Yuqian complained a little, and Song Yu teased him, “Well, who told you to blacklist people left and right back then? You’ve got quite the reputation. No wonder they’re scared of you.”

Fu Yuqian gritted his teeth. “Song Xiaomao, be reasonable. Who was I doing that for, hmm?” He had the urge to stamp a mark on Song Yu. “Wasn’t I just trying to keep myself pure and untainted so I could be with you?”

Song Yu burst out laughing. Pure and untainted? What kind of nonsense was that!

The more time he spent with Fu Yuqian, the happier he felt. He was always smiling during work, full of energy. Many people liked his looks and personality, and quite a few even had a crush on him. But once they realized the massive gap between him and Fu Yuqian, they gave up the idea altogether.

Ever since the official relationship announcement, their “Pisces fandom” had grown stronger than ever, every day felt like a festival. Taking advantage of Song Yu’s reputation for spoiling fans, they constantly begged for “sweet moments,” and as usual, demanded that Fu Yuqian do a kabedon (wall-pinning pose) with Song Yu.

However, ever since Fu Yuqian had kissed him in public, Song Yu couldn’t get over his embarrassment. He couldn’t bring himself to do any more public displays of affection. After relentless fan requests, he finally gave in and posted a photo of “His Majesty pinning Yi Yi to the wall,” then buried himself in silence no matter how much fans poked at him.

The fans were completely smitten by Song Yu’s cuteness and joked every day about wanting to throw Fu Yuqian into a sack and beat him up.

As work got busier, time flew by. After final exams ended and summer vacation was about to begin, The Tyrant’s Beloved started its promotional campaign.

But truthfully, the drama didn’t need much promotion from Fu Yuqian or Song Yu. With two top-tier stars leading and those two being an actual couple, fans had long been counting down the days, charging up their memberships and setting reminders, ready to binge-watch the moment it aired.

The fans even coordinated an online campaign, posting screenshots of the “cancel reservation” button and tagging Song Yu: “Aren’t you scared? If you don’t give us some couple content, we’ll cancel our pre-orders!” They were merciless sugar addicts.

Song Yu complained to Fu Yuqian on Weibo, and Fu Yuqian took the chance to tease him: “If you take the initiative just once, I’ll handle it for you.”

Song Yu: “……” He was losing his mind!

But refusing to admit defeat, Song Yu gritted his teeth and said, “Fine. Should I get on top of you, then?”

Fu Yuqian calmly lay back. “That works too.”

Song Yu, feeling reckless, pounced on him directly. He kissed and touched him and realized it actually felt pretty nice. Fu Yuqian’s muscles were firm and smooth, his body pleasant to touch. Song Yu found it hard to stop and ended up lingering longer than he planned. But Fu Yuqian couldn’t take it anymore when Song Yu didn’t move further, Fu suddenly flipped them over, pinned him down, and kissed him hard amid Song Yu’s protests. He murmured in a low voice, “Next time, I’ll let you take the lead.”

“I did take the lead!” Song Yu struggled, pressing down Fu Yuqian’s wandering hand. “Now you have to help me figure this out!”

“Don’t worry,” Fu Yuqian said with a smirk, leaning over him. “Leave it to me.”

——

After being thoroughly “fried like an egg” several times, Song Yu curled up in the blanket, full of regret. What was so bad about a little public affection? It was just for his adorable fans! Anything was better than being “fried” by Fu Yuqian for three hours straight.

He felt like his brain had completely short-circuited.

And to make it worse, Fu Yuqian even made him call him “husband.” Song Yu went silent from sheer embarrassment.

When he refused to come out of the blanket, Fu Yuqian could only hug him through it, then opened Weibo and started typing.

Not long after, Fu Yuqian’s account posted a new update.

He uploaded a still from the drama, his eyes fierce and cold, like a demon risen from the abyss. His face, though strikingly handsome, carried an intimidating chill that could easily scare a child to tears.

The caption read: “Heard someone’s been bullying Song Yu?”

The moment the photo went up, the fans freaked out. They flooded the comments, begging for mercy: “We won’t tease him anymore, boss! Please, put your powers away!”

The commotion drew massive attention. Many casual viewers became curious about The Tyrant’s Beloved and wanted to see how Fu Yuqian and Song Yu would perform together onscreen.

After the relationship announcement, most of the public relations work had been handled by Yin Lang and his PR team, along with the steady mediation from the Pisces fandom. Over time, most fans accepted the news, but a small group inevitably turned against them—some “fans-turned-antis,” some old haters, and some fake accounts stirring the pot.

Song Yu knew this was unavoidable. Though it saddened him, he learned to let it go. He couldn’t expect every fan to stand by him. For those who left, he could only wish them well.

Meanwhile, antis and trolls were waiting to see whether Fu Yuqian and Song Yu’s relationship would make them better or cause their downfall from the top of the industry.

And the only proof that mattered… was their work.

Their two solo concerts in May had been sold out. Their duet Gemini had dominated the charts across major music platforms, proving itself with solid numbers. The song’s lyrics, melody, and production were all top-notch, and their voices blended perfectly, one of those songs you fall in love with after just one listen.

Their musical and stage abilities were undeniable. But instead of taking the easy route of maintaining their superstar image, they chose to act in a web drama. That gave antis a reason to attack.

Clips from their past shows were dug up every frame analyzed. Critics mocked Song Yu’s acting as “cringeworthy” and called Fu Yuqian “expressionless.” Fans, on the other hand, were eager for the new series to prove the haters wrong. The antis hoped it would destroy their careers.

Director Guo Mao took the cast to several variety shows for promotion. One of them was “A Normal Day”, a popular reality show featuring celebrities’ daily lives through live broadcasts.

After confirming schedules with both of them, the crew arrived early in the morning with their live-streaming equipment.

The door opened to reveal Fu Yuqian, dressed in sapphire-blue loungewear. Even though it was loose-fitting, he wore it like a top model.

【Aaaaahhh he’s too handsome! Not gonna lie, my boyfriend has the same outfit, but somehow he looks short and stubby in it!】

【Where’s my little Song Yu? Why hasn’t he appeared yet? Fu Yuqian, you dog of a man, give me back my little Song Yu!】

Yi Yi and His Majesty (the cats) curiously watched the filming crew. Because Song Yu had talked to them beforehand, they weren’t frightened at all. Instead, they showed off their beautiful forms for the camera.

Under Song Yu’s supervision, Yi Yi had finally lost some weight and regained its sleek, elegant figure. As for His Majesty, he was still dignified and majestic as ever when he sat and looked toward the camera, his pale green eyes carried an air of commanding dominance.

【Salute to His Majesty! Ahhh he’s so regal! I want a cat like that!】
【My baby Yi Yi is still so adorable!】

The host was a young man with a clear voice. “Mr. Fu, where’s Mr. Song?”

“He’s still asleep. I’ll go wake him up,” Fu Yuqian said with a soft chuckle before heading upstairs.

The camera followed him closely. When Fu Yuqian gently pushed open the door, Song Yu was indeed sound asleep. He had planned to wake up early to greet the filming crew with Fu Yuqian, but the night before, they’d filmed a late-night scene, returning home at dawn. After that, Fu Yuqian had “attended to him” again, and Song Yu had completely passed out.

To make sure he wouldn’t oversleep, he’d even set several alarms. But what he didn’t know was that after he fell asleep, Fu Yuqian had turned them all off so he could rest well.

When Fu Yuqian stepped into the room, the camera tried to follow him in, but he turned his head, gave them a cool glance, and promptly closed the door.

The crew: “……”

The livestream chat exploded in laughter. Fans flooded the screen with comments, comforting the crew: Fu Yuqian, that dog of a man, would never let anyone see Song Yu’s sleeping face. But honestly if they had a sleeping Song Yu at home, they wouldn’t want to show him to anyone either.

Two minutes later, Fu Yuqian came back out, having wrapped Song Yu up tightly. “He’s still sleeping,” he said calmly. “Let’s not disturb him. I’ll make breakfast first.”

The cameraman nodded in understanding but couldn’t resist panning back to the bedroom door, as if begrudgingly saying goodbye.

When Song Yu had publicly mentioned that Fu Yuqian’s cooking was amazing, no one had taken it too seriously. After all, most people thought that someone raised in luxury like Fu Yuqian probably never even set foot in a kitchen. Surely Song Yu was just blinded by love.

But once Fu Yuqian started making breakfast, his movements fluid and practiced, the chat was full of admiration.

【Honestly, judging by how skilled he looks, he definitely cooks for Song Yu all the time. And he probably makes all of Song Yu’s favorite dishes.】
【I kind of get why Song Yu likes him now. If a man this handsome was in my kitchen doing nothing, I’d already be giggling in my sleep. But he’s also rich, good-looking, built, and can cook? Ughhh, I want a husband like this too!】

Half an hour later, Fu Yuqian finished breakfast. Just as he was about to bring the dishes to the table, there was a sound from upstairs. The camera immediately turned—

And there was Song Yu, hair soft and messy, rubbing his eyes as he stumbled sleepily down the stairs, sniffing the air. “Smells so good… Darling, did you make breakfast already? Has the crew arriv—”

He froze.

Halfway down the stairs, he saw the entire filming crew and camera pointed right at him. His eyes widened in shock, his brain blanking out completely.

He had just called Fu Yuqian darling in front of millions of live viewers and with that half-asleep, disheveled look!

The so-called “tough guy” Song Yu wanted to dig a hole and bury himself alive on the spot.

He spun around and bolted back into the bedroom, slamming the door shut behind him.

Fans went wild. They were losing their minds from how cute he was—and from the overdose of sweetness between the two of them.

Fu Yuqian clicked his tongue and looked toward the camera with mock menace. “You all didn’t see anything just now.”

【Don’t worry, boss, my cataracts are acting up. I definitely didn’t see Song Yu! Huh? What was that blur that just ran by—Yi Yi maybe?】
【Boss please don’t blacklist me hahaha】
【I’m not scared! Fu Yuqian, I challenge you to a duel! To be honest, I just want to take Song Yu home!】
【Fu Yuqian: Whoever covets Song Yu… must die.】

The comments flew by at lightning speed.

Fu Yuqian sighed inwardly. Why had he been so stupid to turn off Song Yu’s alarms? Once the crew left, Song Yu would definitely take revenge, he might not even get to “eat” Song Yu again for days.

Facing the camera, he said seriously, “I’ll go coax my husband.”

That earned him a burst of laughter from the crew, who tried not to laugh out loud. “Of course, Mr. Fu. Please, go ahead.”

Inside the room, Song Yu was curled up in bed, wishing he had Doraemon’s time machine. How could he be this dumb? He decided right then he was quitting the show. The penalty fee? Fu Yuqian could pay it. He was rich anyway.

There was a soft knock on the door. Fu Yuqian’s voice came through: “Baby, I’m coming in… It’s okay. Everyone said you were really cute. And I called you ‘my husband’ just now, now they’re all laughing at me instead.”

Then he gently hugged Song Yu through the blanket.

Song Yu made a muffled whimper. “We’re not filming anymore. You can pay the penalty.”

“Alright, I’ll pay it,” Fu Yuqian said patiently, coaxing him.

Of course, Song Yu was just venting. He’d done plenty of dumb things before. After being hugged for a while, he calmed down. Peeking out from under the blanket, his cheeks flushed red, he asked, “They really weren’t laughing at me?”

“I promise they weren’t,” Fu Yuqian said firmly.

Though Song Yu was still skeptical, he couldn’t keep the crew waiting forever. He took a deep breath, composed himself, changed clothes, and followed Fu Yuqian out.

The crew greeted him, and Song Yu, trying his best to stay calm, said, “Hello, I’m so sorry. I had a late-night shoot yesterday and overslept. My apologies.”

“It’s alright,” the host said with a smile. “Our show is all about authenticity. Everyone loves seeing this side of you, Mr. Song.”

“Thank you for liking me,” Song Yu said, deciding to act cool and composed for the rest of the day.

During breakfast, both of them ate gracefully and quietly. Fu Yuqian’s cooking looked and smelled amazing so much so that even though the crew had already eaten, they couldn’t help but drool.

Song Yu didn’t eat much and told Fu Yuqian to let the crew join in. There was plenty of food, after all.

When the first bite hit their tongues, one of the crew members let out a blissful sigh. “This is way too good!”

The live chat was filled with sounds of people practically drooling.

After breakfast, Song Yu sat in the study with headphones on, gaming. These past few days on set had made him completely addicted to this game, he’d sneak in a few rounds whenever he had free time. Fu Yuxian cooperatively set up another computer so Song Yu could take him along to play.

Song Yu’s fingers flew over the keyboard as fast as a professional player’s, but Fu Yuxian wasn’t so skilled. He had little gaming talent and often ended up feeding the opponents barely five minutes into the match and the bottom lane had already collapsed.

Playing as the jungler, Song Yu carried the entire team, leading Fu Yuxian to a comeback victory and successfully destroying the enemy crystal.

【Ahhhh Song Yu looks so handsome when he’s gaming! So hot and full of boyfriend energy! Please carry me too, waaaah】
【I heard that during the filming of his new drama, Song Yu did all the action scenes himself without a stunt double. I thought it was fake news, but turns out it’s true—respect!】
【Can’t wait for Song Yu’s new drama, he looks amazing!】

After one round, Song Yu decided to give his fans a little bonus, he’d perform a short scene from The Tyrant’s Beloved Pet live with Fu Yuxian, letting the fans choose which scene. Counting down from five, he told the production team to take a screenshot.

Naively confident, Song Yu was ready to show off his improved acting skills; he still remembered all the lines clearly and was sure he wouldn’t mess up.

But when the countdown ended and the comments froze on screen, Song Yu was completely dumbfounded.

Every single one said—【Bed scene】.
