ALSACW – Chapter 52

Yun Chuji had indeed caused quite a stir.

Officer Zhang looked at the sea of omegas before him, his head throbbing. If Tang Group hadn’t sent people to help with crowd control, today would have been a complete disaster.

With so many omegas, if even one or two of them had gone into heat in this bustling district, the resulting chaos would have been unimaginable.

Officer Zhang had only ever seen a situation like this at a concert for the famous imperial alpha idol, Qin Yueming. But, he sighed, looking up at the sky, this wasn’t a concert!

He really wanted to know what kind of ethereal beauty this unknown alpha, whom this massive crowd of omegas was calling “baby,” possessed to drive them into such a frenzy. They had gathered without any notice, without applying for omega protection, completely unprepared and with a total disregard for their own safety.

The officer next to him, Officer Wang, slapped him firmly on the shoulder. “Stop spacing out. Hurry up and get rid of those alphas trying to take advantage of the situation.”

“What a mess!” Officer Zhang exclaimed in frustration.

Officer Wang glanced at him. She was older and more composed. “Alphas and omegas are just like that,” she sighed. “They get carried away easily in crowds. You’ll get used to it.”

The main reason Officer Wang could speak so frankly was that all the officers dispatched to the scene were betas, so there was no risk of offending colleagues. In situations like this, betas were almost always sent. Alphas were only dispatched if they were severely short-staffed. As for omegas… well, sending them to handle a case like this was more likely to cause a crime than solve one, so there were very few omegas on the police force, and nearly all of them worked in administrative positions.

The officer in charge was the same one who had handled the boxing gym incident. She frowned, thinking that alphas and omegas were like magnets—one moment drawn tightly together, the next violently repelling each other. As beta outsiders, they could never quite understand the magnetic forces at play between them.

The officer stared at the pheromone detector in her hand, directing her subordinates to disperse the agitated omegas and send them home to prevent any pheromone leaks from triggering chaos.

She looked up at the top floor of the building, knowing the person responsible for all this was up there, along with the second young miss of the Tang family. An S-rank alpha, an S-rank omega, and the Tang Group on top of it all—they had managed to turn a simple situation into an incredibly complex one. All Yun Chuji had to do was make a brief appearance, satisfy the omegas’ fantasies, and offer a few placating words, and this whole affair would have been over.

But who would have guessed she was Tang Jianxi’s lover? The second young miss would rather expend a great deal of money and effort than allow her alpha to make a public appearance and pander to the crowd.

Of course, they couldn’t be blamed. They had no obligation to do so. Besides, even if Yun Chuji had made an appearance, there was no guarantee it would have pacified the crowd of omegas once the livestream was completely over.

The blame lay with the people who had started the livestream. Their title was a sensational “Revealing the True Private Face of an S-Rank Alpha!!!”

They had thought that by exposing the parts of Yun Chuji’s daily life that didn’t conform to typical alpha behavior, they could destroy her appeal to omegas. But it had the opposite effect. Especially after her A-Virtue speech, more and more omegas had flocked to the location.

Then, alphas, as if drawn by the scent, began to arrive, making the scene alarmingly chaotic.

The officer rubbed her temples and decided to request reinforcements from the station. Even with the Tang Group’s help, the situation was proving difficult to control.

In the crowd was an omega named Cheng Le. She looked around and saw that she was surrounded by other omegas, all with the same fervent look in their eyes.

Cheng Le hadn’t come here because she’d fallen in love at first sight with the S-rank alpha from that short video clip. She had just tagged along with a friend. Her friend hadn’t fallen in love either; he just wanted to see what all the excitement was about and had brought her with him.

When they arrived, they realized a huge crowd had gathered. Some had genuinely fallen for Yun Chuji through the screen, while others, like them, were just there for the spectacle.

After all, an S-rank alpha participating in the “True Alpha Training Camp” was a sensational event in the Empire, enough to make a fifty-year-old alpha lament, “What has this world come to?”

While they waited for her to emerge, they watched the livestream to keep track of her movements. Yun Chuji had felt an unignorable, scorching gaze when she entered the classroom; thinking back, it was less likely her jealous alpha classmates and more likely the infatuated omegas on the other side of the screen.

As she watched, Cheng Le found that this alpha was indeed very good-looking, with an approachable demeanor, not intimidating like many alphas. Never having been in a relationship, she was instantly captivated by this gentle, “herbivore” type of alpha. Just as she was adjusting her standards for a partner, prioritizing personality over pheromone scent, Yun Chuji took the stage and began her outrageous speech.

Yes, even as a bona fide omega, Cheng Le had to admit that Yun Chuji’s ideas were a bit extreme.

It sounded like some theory of atonement an alpha might dream up after a nightmare.

But her expression was so earnest, her gaze so convincing, as if she truly lived by these rules and had become a true alpha possessing A-Virtue.

Cheng Le was both skeptical and thrilled. She imagined no omega could remain unmoved. After Yun Chuji began to speak, the crowd around her fell silent, leaving only the sound of heavy breathing, like a distant horn call luring them toward a path no one had ever trod.

Due to biology, the initiative in alpha-omega relationships naturally fell to alphas. Even with the existence of ruts, alphas merely experienced pain; it wasn’t as if they couldn’t survive without an omega.

But without inhibitors, an omega couldn’t survive a heat without an alpha. The intense fever would torture them to death.

It was a matter of biological life and death.

Yet now, an alpha was shamelessly declaring her intention to create a spiritual lifeline for alphas—and there wasn’t an omega alive whose heart wouldn’t flutter at the thought.

It was absurd, of course.

However, Yun Chuji’s final rebuttal lessened that sense of absurdity, because it seemed she was actually putting her words into practice—it was feasible.

Unless she was putting on an act. But Cheng Le couldn’t imagine an alpha risking complete ruin and ostracism from their own kind just to curry favor with omegas. Especially an S-rank alpha; plenty of noble families would have been eager to marry their omegas to her in hopes of producing a high-rank heir.

She had no reason to do this, which made her seem all the more sincere.

After the livestream ended, many alphas cursed Yun Chuji, claiming she had lost all alpha dignity just to kiss up to a rich woman (they said “kiss her fragrant feet,” because Tang Jianxi was too beautiful for anyone to use the word “stinky”). Her name had been leaked during the stream, and these alphas proceeded to criticize everything from her name to every strand of her hair, determined to prove she was a disgrace to all alphas. Some even started a rumor that she had undergone a gender reassignment procedure in a Tang Group lab to become an alpha.

Such claims found agreement among many alphas and were ignored by even more omegas.

More omegas rushed to the location, the Empire’s advanced transportation network facilitating the impromptu gathering. They were no longer driven by the desire to find a mate—at least, that was no longer their primary goal. They wanted to see this alpha in person and ask her one question: “Do you really believe what you said is right?”

But before Yun Chuji appeared, the police and Tang Group security arrived. Hearing the wailing sirens, Cheng Le thought with a pang of regret that she wouldn’t get to see her after all.

The Empire was vast. If Yun Chuji was determined to hide, the chances of ever meeting her were practically zero. Honestly, Cheng Le truly wanted to see this alpha. Not for any particular reason, but simply to see her, the way one might travel to Qinglan Star just to see the rare Horned Beasts.

Just as she was about to follow the police’s instructions to leave, her friend grabbed her arm excitedly. “Yun Chuji is live-streaming!”

The stream’s interface was clean and simple, completely different from the ones hosted by the other alphas. There weren’t a ton of tipping options—in fact, there were no tipping options at all. And of course, there were no prompts to pay a certain number of star coins to zoom in on her face. The moment the stream started, there was Yun Chuji’s face, looking slightly embarrassed but gentle and approachable.

She was trying hard to relax, but the corners of her mouth remained tense, and her voice sounded a little strange, with an unmissable tremor.

“Please, go home. It’s not safe here.”

That was the first thing she said. For some reason, Cheng Le instantly believed she was a good person. It was the kind of tone only a good person would have.

Soon, the screen was flooded with a dense wall of text. There were plenty of thoughtless insults from alphas, but also greetings and expressions of affection from omegas.

Yun Chuji’s eyelashes fluttered. She was clearly overwhelmed by the situation. Flustered, she quickly repeated herself. “Really, please go home. There’s nothing special to see.”

“Besides, you’ve all seen me now.”

Cheng Le noticed that the Starnet account Yun Chuji was using belonged to the second young miss of the Tang family. No wonder so many people had flooded the stream at once. And it also explained how, under Tang Jianxi’s control, all the vulgar comments had vanished.

With the screen cleared, the omegas were able to ask their most pressing question: “Why did you say those things?”

On the other side of the screen, Yun Chuji sat on a fabric sofa with a large photograph of the ocean behind her. Without much hesitation, she answered, her young face earnest, “Because that’s how it should be, of course.”

“If we must have rules, then they should be for regulating those who hold the advantage.”

“Forcing the disadvantaged to abide by rules and bear restraints only makes the weak even weaker, doesn’t it? For example, omegas were originally only at a disadvantage during their heats, but now they’re at a disadvantage in every aspect of life. That’s fundamentally immoral. That’s the logic of beasts.”

“As sentient beings, we should act in a more civilized manner. Alphas, who hold the physiological advantage, should take the initiative to abide by these rules. Only then can omegas live well, alphas live well, and the Empire prosper.”

After this speech, Yun Chuji bit her lower lip, looking extremely embarrassed. She subconsciously glanced to her right, and then, as if she’d received some encouragement, she found the courage to speak again. “Anyway, that’s what I mean. I hope alphas can practice self-restraint.”

“As for the omegas here, you need to go home now. It’s really dangerous.”

And with that, the livestream ended.

Afterward, the omegas gathered downstairs were dispersed before any chaos could erupt. Police cars hauled away a few alphas who had been lurking with ill intent.

And just like that, the day was over.

Recalling the day’s events, Cheng Le felt as if it had all been a dream. Could an alpha like that really exist in the world?

It was truly unbelievable.

Her friend felt the same way. In fact, Yun Chuji had now become one of his dream girls.

He sighed, “If only all the alphas in the world were like Miss Yun and the Third Princess.”

“They’re beautiful, high-rank, and they fight for omega rights. They’re just too perfect.”

Cheng Le nodded vigorously. “I know! The Third Princess fought for low-cost inhibitors for lower-class omegas, and Miss Yun is calling for alphas to uphold A-Virtue. If there were just a few more alphas like them, the Empire’s future would be so much brighter!”

Nearby in S-District, Yun Chuji sneezed.

Far away in A-District, Lucia also sneezed.
