YMI Chapter 5

Hundred Poisons Golden Wound Ointment

“Qin Lang—” Whatever faint good impression Tao Ruoxiang had just formed of Qin Lang instantly vanished. “Don’t go too far! Don’t think that just because you’re pretending to treat an illness, you can take advantage of me!”

“Teacher Tao, Aunt Tao… you… you’re really wronging me here!” Qin Lang said pitifully. “If I truly wanted to take advantage of you, couldn’t I just demand to examine the actual afflicted area?”

“Still trying to quibble! If you were really an upright person, you’d just leave this box of ointment for me to use myself, wouldn’t you?”

“Aunt Tao, you don’t know how expensive this ointment is, or how hard it is to make! And that little boil you have? You only need a speck of ointment—about the size of an eye crust. Why would you need the whole box? I’m worried you’d use too much or smear it in the wrong place, wasting it.” Qin Lang argued earnestly.

He wasn’t exaggerating—when making this box of Hundred Poisons Golden Wound Ointment, he had used nearly a hundred different venoms and poisonous powders, each worth several times more than their weight in gold.

And its effects were astonishing. Whether it was venomous wounds from poisonous creatures or serious cuts from blades, once applied, the injury would heal rapidly. This ointment used poison to fight poison—not only suppressing and clearing toxins from the wound, but also stimulating the body’s functions to accelerate healing and restore the skin.

“Wasting it? Are you kidding me? How much can this quack ointment possibly cost? I’ll buy it!” Tao Ruoxiang said boldly.

“Aunt Tao, better not ask about the price,” Qin Lang said, unwilling to hurt her pride.

“Say it!” Tao Ruoxiang thought to herself, Could the young lady of the Tao family really not afford a box of ointment?

“Just in terms of cost, this box is worth at least two hundred thousand.”

“Two hundred thousand!” Tao Ruoxiang snorted. “No wonder they say the medical industry is black-hearted.”

“Aunt Tao, you get what you pay for. Once you use it, you’ll know if it’s worth it—got any medical cotton swabs?”

Tao Ruoxiang handed him one. Qin Lang lightly dabbed the very edge of the ointment box with the swab, getting a speck the size of an eye crust, then handed it back to her. “Careful now—don’t smear it anywhere else and waste it.”

Tao Ruoxiang almost coughed up blood from rage. This guy is so stingy he can’t even spare a bit more of his so-called wonder ointment. What an extreme cheapskate.

But Qin Lang had his reasons. If Tao Ruoxiang weren’t a super beauty, he wouldn’t have wasted such precious ointment on something as minor as a boil. Even for her, he preferred to recommend his “eco-therapy.”

If his old poison master knew he was using the Hundred Poisons Golden Wound Ointment on a boil, he’d curse him as a prodigal fool until he bled from the ears.

Too lazy to keep arguing, Tao Ruoxiang took the swab to the bathroom.

With so little ointment, she had to hold a small mirror, find the exact spot, and carefully dab the tiny speck onto the boil.

The fiery pain quickly faded, replaced by a cool, soothing sensation.

The boil shrank rapidly—in less than ten minutes, it vanished completely. The effect was almost miraculous.

What shocked her even more was that there wasn’t the slightest mark left on the spot. Her smooth skin was completely restored. Truly, this was a case of “a hidden embarrassment, gone with a single touch.”

I never thought this ointment would be so effective!

She sighed inwardly, feeling a bit guilty for doubting Qin Lang and calling him stingy earlier. With results like this, it must have been hard to make and costly to produce—no wonder he was reluctant to waste it.

After confirming she was fully healed, Tao Ruoxiang tidied herself up and came out of the bathroom—only to see that Qin Lang was no longer on the sofa.

“Qin Lang—Qin Lang…”

She called twice, thinking he had left, when suddenly there was a knock on the door.

“What are you doing standing outside?” Tao Ruoxiang opened the door to find him there.

“So, you won’t think I’m peeking at you,” Qin Lang said seriously. In truth, when she went into the bathroom, he had started imagining the scene of her applying the ointment—so vividly that he almost had a nosebleed. To eliminate the temptation entirely, he had locked himself outside.

“When did I ever say you were peeking?” Tao Ruoxiang said, apparently forgetting she had suspected him earlier. “I thought you’d already left.”

“Doing good deeds without expecting reward, doing good deeds without leaving my name—that’s not my style.” Qin Lang said shamelessly, clearly hinting for a reward.

Tao Ruoxiang understood exactly what he meant. “Then what do you want as a reward?”

“Aunt Tao, didn’t you say my mom called you, and you’d treat me to a good meal?” Qin Lang looked at her with a half-smile.

Tao Ruoxiang felt frustrated—she had been trying to set him up, but somehow, she had fallen into his trap instead. And now that he’d said it, she couldn’t refuse. She couldn’t just let him work for nothing, especially since he had made it clear he wasn’t trying to be some nameless do-gooder.

With such a thick-skinned guy pestering her, she could only say, “Then wait a bit, I’ll go change my clothes.”

“Want me to wait inside, or outside—”

Bang!

Tao Ruoxiang had already slammed the door shut.
