Chapter 054 Senior Brother – “ “No matter which world we're in, I will be with you.” ” (19/19)

Chapter 054 Senior Brother – “ “No matter which world we’re in, I will be with you.” ” (19/19)

Wen Xusheng discussed the specifics with the Sect Master of Liuchong Sect, then walked away with a flourish.

The Sect Master stared blankly in the direction he had disappeared, rubbed his temples, then activated the teleportation barrier to summon the Peak Masters of the six peaks and the Disciplinary Elder, too.

The Disciplinary Elder fell silent for a moment. Glancing at the Peak Masters around him, his intuition told him this could not be good news.

“I have some matters to attend to at my peak.”

The Disciplinary Elder turned to leave, but the Sect Master grabbed him by the arm.

“What matters? Tell me,” the Sect Master said with a smirk, speaking nonsense. “Before I called you here, I specifically asked your senior disciple.”

The Disciplinary Elder: “……”

Oh, the horror.

The Disciplinary Elder turned his head away and said earnestly, “I spoke out of turn. It’s actually a matter concerning the Hall of Punishment.

“No problem,” the Sect Master said magnanimously. “We’ll wait for you.”

The Disciplinary Elder: “……”

The Sect Master asked in surprise, “Why haven’t you left yet? Go quickly and return soon. Don’t keep us waiting.”

The Disciplinary Elder replied slowly, “After thinking it over, I’ve decided that the Sect Master’s affairs take precedence.”

The Sect Master smiled warmly. “You’re too kind, Junior Brother.”

The Disciplinary Elder said with a heavy heart, “It’s only right.”

In the end, as one of only two elders on the Main Peak who hadn’t yet gone into seclusion or fled, the Disciplinary Elder was detained by the Sect Master.

Looking at the other six Peak Masters and the Disciplinary Elder, a surge of pride welled up within the Sect Master. At least there were still seven people who could accompany him. How wonderful.

So the Sect Master took out three recording spirit stones and smiled. “Master Ji is willing to give us these spirit mountains, along with their mountain spirits, in order to help us amend the contract, but he has one condition: to help him and Xiao Ge host a grand ceremony to celebrate their union as Dao companions. I think this matter requires all of us to give our full support, don’t you agree?”

The Sect Master looked at the other Peak Masters, and they all nodded in unison.

What else could they do? They couldn’t really uproot the entire peak and move somewhere else, could they? That would be too embarrassing!

Cultivators needed to save face, after all!

The Sect Master smiled as he activated a recording spirit stone. “Master Jiuxiang’s specific requirements are all here. Let’s take a look together.”

The Disciplinary Elder wasn’t sure if it was just his imagination. At that moment, he sensed that behind the Sect Master’s smile lay an endless depth of sorrow.

When the Disciplinary Elder saw Wen Xusheng’s demands on the recording spirit stone, he instantly understood where that sorrow came from.

These requirements were way too detailed! Who knew that big shot was such a perfectionist when it came to details.

From the time and location of the Dao Companion Ceremony to the officiants and attendees, every detail was meticulously specified—even the attire of the attendees was covered in excruciating detail, with explicit specifications for every single pattern on their attire—not to mention everything else.

After listening to Wen Xusheng’s nonstop monologue for a full hour, all the Peak Masters deeply understood the Sect Master’s earlier state of mind. To be honest, by the end, they could no longer recall the earlier requirements.

When the recording spirit stone finally concluded, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

The very next moment, they heard the Sect Master’s gentle voice. “There are still two left. Master Jiu’s requirements are a bit tedious, but it’s understandable. After all, the Dao Companion Ceremony happens only once in a lifetime. Master Jiu simply wants everything to be perfect. I’m sure you can all understand that, right?”

Everyone turned their gaze to the other two recording spirit stones in the Sect Master’s hand.

At that moment, the look on their faces was no different from when a demon beast suddenly appeared before them.

Three hours’ worth of detailed requirements. Was this really a Dao Companion Ceremony? No! This wasn’t!

This is trying to drive the Peak Masters to their deaths!!

Unfortunately, Wen Xusheng couldn’t hear the Peak Masters’ thoughts; he was currently focused entirely on figuring out how to get inside Shi Jingge’s residence.

This was the Nth day he’d been locked out.

Shi Jingge wasn’t back at his home on Shuixing Peak yet; only the three-tailed cat was inside, “warmly” greeting Wen Xusheng through the window. That smug, gloating attitude made Wen Xusheng want nothing more than to have a “heart-to-heart” with it.

However, before the “intimate” conversation between man and cat could begin, Shi Jingge returned.

Wen Xusheng instantly abandoned the three-tailed cat and eagerly trailed behind Shi Jingge, trying to follow him inside. “Xiao Ge.” Wen Xusheng dragged out the tone, looking utterly pitiful.

In the end, Wen Xusheng did manage to get the chance to enter the house.

The three-tailed cat was promptly shooed out.

Three-tailed cat: !!

This grudge was cemented!

The creature angrily pawed at the door for a while, but to no avail. Instead, it sensed a surge of spiritual energy and realized Wen Xusheng was blocking it, so it could only walk away in frustration.

It wandered around Shuixing Peak and caught a whiff of a delicate fragrance, so it followed the scent.

“Meow~”

A crisp meow instantly caught the attention of the disciples of Shuixing Peak.

“The three-tailed cat!”

“It’s so, so beautiful!”

“Is it… looking at me?”

“Ah, my heart is melting!”

The three-tailed cat walked over step by step with grace. The disciples of Shuixing Peak didn’t dare breathe a word, afraid of scaring it away.

The three-tailed cat held its head high, its tails standing tall, and walked over with light, slow steps. Its proud yet elegant demeanor made everyone want to cover their chest and scream.

The three-tailed cat came to a stop in front of one disciple, staring straight at the open pill bottle in his hand. The disciple’s face flushed crimson as he tremblingly held out the bottle. “D-Do you want it?”

The three-tailed cat snatched the vial with a flick of a tail, effortlessly stowing it away in its storage space. It had intended to walk away immediately, but accepting elixirs from a human cultivator of lower cultivation than itself was not something a noble and elegant three-tailed cat would do!

Therefore, the noble and elegant three-tailed cat should give this human cultivator something in return.

However, inside its storage space, aside from its beloved treasures, there were only high-grade spirit stones it had swindled from its master.

There were plenty of spirit stones—if necessary, it could always swindle more from its master—but its treasures were one-of-a-kind.

The three-tailed cat tossed down a high-grade spirit stone, took a few light steps, and vanished in the blink of an eye.

The disciples of Shuixing Peak: !!!

“A high-grade spirit stone!”

“This is like manna from heaven!”

“Junior Brother Du is so lucky!”

“This spirit stone is of exceptional quality. Congratulations, Junior Brother Du.”

Du Yihan gazed at the high-grade spirit stone, experiencing for the first time the sheer joy of something falling into his lap.

W-Was this actually real?!

The three-tailed cat suddenly found joy. What was the fun in messing with my own dim-witted master?

These disciples of Shuixing Peak were the cute ones!

So, a month later, when the Sect Master and the Disciplinary Elder came to Shuixing Peak to show Wen Xusheng the draft of the Dao Companion Ceremony, they saw the three-tailed cat strolling all over Shuixing Peak.

The Sect Master closed his eyes briefly. “I don’t seem to be hallucinating.”

The Disciplinary Elder smacked him on the head. The Sect Master instinctively opened his eyes and saw the creature once again, sitting upright not far away, elegant and at ease.

“Clearly,” the Disciplinary Elder said slowly, “this is not a hallucination.”

The Sect Master said nothing.

The Disciplinary Elder waited and waited, but the Sect Master didn’t respond, leaving him somewhat puzzled.

The Disciplinary Elder glanced at the other man, who was staring intently at the three-tailed cat, his eyes unusually bright. Then, he began to walk toward the cat, step by step.

Law Enforcement Elder: “?”

The three-tailed cat also heard the Sect Master’s approach and turned to look over. The Sect Master instinctively covered his chest.

It was just too, too, too beautiful!

It was the most perfect three-tailed cat!

He wanted to give it the whole world!

“Meow?” The three-tailed cat tilted its head, its voice cool and detached.

The Sect Master pinched himself hard and spoke with exceptional respect, “Your Highness, I would like to invite you to our Liuchong Sect’s main peak to admire the scenery. I wonder if Your Highness would be so kind as to accept my invitation?”

Having spent a month at Shuixing Peak and grown a bit bored, the three-tailed cat narrowed its eyes at the Sect Master. Sensing not a trace of malice and only genuine goodwill, it finally nodded with dignity. “Mrrow~”

I’ll give you a chance. After all, it’s a considerate three-tailed cat!

As if afraid it might change its mind, the Sect Master immediately activated the teleportation array. Before the Disciplinary Elder could say a word, the Sect Master had already whisked the three-tailed cat away.

Wait!” The Disciplinary Elder watched the array vanish, feeling completely at a loss.

Did he even remember why they came here?

Evidently, the Sect Master still remembered. A moment later, the barrier opened again. The Sect Master poked his head out and said earnestly, “I’ll leave Master Jiu to you, Junior Brother.”

Before the Disciplinary Elder could reply, the barrier vanished once more.

The Sect Master had run off. He’d taken the three-tailed cat with him. And left him alone to face the terrifying Master Jiu.

The Disciplinary Elder remained silent for quite a while: What to do? He wanted to go into seclusion too 🙂

After the Three-Tailed Cat paid a visit to the Main Peak, its range of activities expanded from Shuixing Peak to the entire Liuchong Sect. Most of the sect’s disciples took a liking to the creature, even sparking a massive “Find the Three-Tailed Cat” event.

The three-tailed cat went everywhere, including Lingyue Peak, until one day, it bumped into Lingyue Peak’s Senior Brother.

Then, in a fit of rage, it swiped at the Senior Brother with one of its tails.

Senior Brother of Lingyue Peak: “……”

Why was he always the one getting hurt? QAQ

Second Brother consoled him. “At least you got some intimate contact with the three-tailed cat.”

The senior brother of Lingyue Peak thought about it. That was true. The fur on the three-tailed cat was incredibly soft and smooth. Since it hadn’t used any spiritual energy, that swat didn’t hurt at all; in fact, it felt quite pleasant.

Instantly, the senior brother became excited.

Within a couple of days, news of his “intimate encounter” with the three-tailed cat had spread throughout the entire Liuchong Sect.

The Sect Master of Liuchong Sect specifically sought out Lingyue Peak; his gaze toward Senior Brother Lingyue Peak was incredibly complex.

The three-tailed cat hadn’t even had an “intimate encounter” with me, woe is me!

Soon, news of the Liuchong Sect and the three-tailed cat spread throughout the entire cultivation world.

Of course, there was also the joint uprising of the demon beasts, demonic cultivators, and ghost cultivators, as well as the sudden appearance of a black vortex in the sky. In this uprising, the Liuchong Sect suffered no losses whatsoever, effortlessly dealing a crushing blow to them. What kind of power was this?

Rumor had it that a Tribulation-stage Ancestor of the Liuchong Sect had awakened from slumber and now presided over the Sect.

A Tribulation-stage Ancestor!

It was said he possesses the strength of a Tribulation-stage Grand Perfection cultivator!

Now, which sect would dare to provoke Liuchong Sect?

Their status as the foremost sect in the cultivation world was now as solid as a rock. With such an ancestor presiding over it, countless cultivators looked upon Liuchong Sect with admiration.

And alongside this Tribulation-stage ancestor, another figure whose fame has spread far and wide was Shi Jingge.

This newly appointed Peak Master of Shuixing Peak possessed the exact same talent as his master, True Immortal Gu Yun. In fact, before even turning thirty, he had already broken through the Foundation Establishment stage to become a Golden Core True Immortal!

Once, other sects believed Shuixing Peak would eventually fade into obscurity. Now, with the new Peak Master standing there, he silently declared to all: Shuixing Peak will never fade into obscurity!

The glory established by their predecessors for the younger generation would surely be inherited by them and carry it to new heights.

Moreover, due to the scarcity of disciples at Shuixing Peak and its exceptionally generous benefits, it had become the most sought-after place for all cultivators to seek a master.

After the grand ceremony for Shi Jingge and Wen Xusheng’s union as Dao Companions, this fervor multiplied several times over. Who wouldn’t want to join Shuixing Peak, where a Tribulation-Surviving Ancestor resided and the youngest Golden Core Immortal served as master?

From this point onward, Liuchong Sect entered an era of great splendor, sustaining this glory for hundreds of years to come.

Wen Xusheng did not leave behind his own name; only Shi Jingge’s name had been immortalized. When later generations referred to Wen Xusheng, they often called him “Master Wen” or “the Dao Companion of Peak Master Shi.” The three-tailed cat did receive a name, though few dared to call it by it.

Shi Jingge named it Xiao Bai.

Later, when Shi Jingge and Wen Xusheng ventured out, they destroyed a stronghold of demonic and ghost cultivators, rescuing many righteous cultivators who had been abducted by them. Some of them were injured, some had their cultivation bases drained, and some had been tortured for amusement; by the time they were rescued, many were barely recognizable as human.

When Shi Jingge and Wen Xusheng found the place, the scene was terrifying—it was like a living hell. Even though Shi Jingge and Wen Xusheng rescued them, very few truly survived; many chose to end their suffering.

With their cultivation energy gone, their spiritual roots destroyed, and some of their spiritual pills even torn out, how could they possibly go on living?

The only thing Shi Jingge could do was to fulfill their requests and return their remains to their respective sects.

And from the accounts of the surviving cultivators, the reason why the beasts, demonic cultivators, and ghost cultivators had recovered so quickly was finally revealed.

They were capturing human cultivators and using them as “disposable resources”!

The demonic and ghost cultivators drained the spiritual energy and cultivation levels from these captives. If their spiritual roots were suitable, they were turned into alchemical vessels. Once their utility had been completely exhausted, their spiritual bones were extracted and fed to the demon beasts.

The sheer brutality of these acts shook the entire cultivation world to its core.

That same year, it united under the leadership of Liuchong Sect to sound the rallying cry for a counterattack against the demonic cultivators, ghost cultivators, and demon beasts.

In that battle, Shi Jingge rose to fame. Leading the disciples of Shuixing Peak, he destroyed the demon beasts’ most critical energy hub, forcing the severance of the connection between them all, thereby making a crucial contribution to the victory in that great war.

That battle ultimately ended in victory for the cultivation world. The demonic beasts were driven back to their ancestral lands, and Shi Jingge, working alongside Wen Xusheng, established numerous magical arrays and barriers to prevent them from returning in the future.

The demonic and ghost cultivators fled in disarray. For the following century, there were no further uprisings by any of them, and the number and strength of cultivators continued to grow during those years.

About twenty years later, a disciple of Shuixing Peak successfully passed his tribulation and became a Golden Core Immortal. Shi Jingge entrusted Shuixing Peak to him, observing him from within the peak for another two years before letting go completely.

His time was running out. He wished to spend his final moments with his Dao companion.

The two of them, along with a cat, lived a beautiful and romantic life within their limited time.

In the final days, Shi Jingge, Wen Xusheng, and the three-tailed cat returned to the spiritual vein at Shuixing Peak.

Shi Jingge grew increasingly weak, a weakness with no apparent cause.

At first, Wen Xusheng tried to persuade him to practice dual cultivation, but upon realizing it was completely useless, he stopped urging Shi Jingge and simply stayed by his side in silence.

Shi Jingge said weakly, “I’m sorry.”

Wen Xusheng smiled, his tone light and carefree. “What is there to be sorry for? Are you apologizing because you can’t practice dual cultivation with me? That’s nothing. I forgive you.”

Shi Jingge curved the corners of his lips, unusually refraining from bickering with him, and simply looked at him tenderly. “Mm, thank you.”

In that instant, Wen Xusheng’s eyes welled up.

“Don’t worry,” Wen Xusheng said softly after a long silence, taking Shi Jingge’s hand. “Shuixing Peak is in good hands. The disciple you chose is exceptionally talented, has a good temperament, is both brave and resourceful, and is sufficiently level-headed. With him in charge, Shuixing Peak won’t run into any trouble.”

“I know.” Shi Jingge turned his head, gazing tenderly at Wen Xusheng. “You know what I’m worried about.”

Wen Xusheng fell silent. He bowed his head, and after a long while, he said, “I know. But I can’t promise you how I’ll handle this, and I certainly can’t make any promises. If it weren’t for you, perhaps I would have ended my own life decades ago, in the endless slumber of day after day. Xiao Ge, please don’t say things I don’t want to hear, all right? Don’t be so cruel to me.”

After a long silence, Shi Jingge took Wen Xusheng’s hand in his own, turning it to face him, and said softly, “All right.”

Wen Xusheng’s fingertips trembled.

“I’ll be waiting for you.” Shi Jingge smiled, a glint of moisture in the corners of his eyes. “You’ll find me, and I’ll find you, right?”

Wen Xusheng nodded firmly. “Yes. I’ll always be with you, no matter where. No matter which world we’re in, I’ll remain by your side. I’m here. I’ll always be here.”

In a daze, Wen Xusheng felt these words sounded familiar, as if in the distant past, he had once made the same promise.

Shi Jingge smiled softly. “What a coincidence. Me too.”

As he smiled, his breath faded away. He was gone.

Wen Xusheng hadn’t realized it yet; he was still holding Shi Jingge’s hand, speaking to him slowly. Not far away, the three-tailed cat let tears fall in big drops, yet dared not make a sound.

Several hours later, Wen Xusheng finally realized that his Dao companion was gone.

He lowered his eyes, sat quietly for a long while, and began to dissolve the contract between himself and the three-tailed cat.

The creature stared at him in disbelief, letting out a piercing cry. “Meow!”

Stop! Stop!

“Good boy. ” Wen Xusheng curved the corners of his lips, giving the three-tailed cat a gentle smile. “Xiao Bai, you’ve already slept with me for so long. This time, you shouldn’t have to share this slumber with me.”

This was the first time Wen Xusheng had called the three-tailed cat Xiao Bai.

The three-tailed cat’s tears flowed even more freely. It shook its head violently, its cries growing more heart-wrenching with each one. It was willing to sleep, willing to sleep alongside its two masters.

Wen Xusheng laughed, tapped its forehead, and looked at it with a touch of indulgence. “That won’t do. Our Xiao Bai is still a single cat, after all. Your partner will be appearing very soon. How could I ever stand in the way of Xiao Bai’s destiny, right?”

The creature clung desperately to Wen Xusheng’s sleeve and let out a heart-wrenching howl. It didn’t want any partner, nor did it want any destiny; it simply didn’t want to leave its masters.

“If I fall asleep now, I might never wake up again. But Xiao Bai is different. You’re like our child. Now that your parents are gone, you have to live on, don’t you? Xiao Bai, don’t cry. Xiao Ge couldn’t stand to see you cry.”

After a pause, Wen Xusheng sighed deeply. “I’ll tell you a secret. It’s not just Xiao Ge who can’t stand to see you cry. I can’t stand it either. So, please, don’t cry. Seeing you cry makes me sad too. Xiao Ge and I have one final wish: may our Xiao Bai live in peace and prosperity, be happy and carefree, and have a fulfilling cat life.”

The contract began to unravel, piece by piece. Xiao Bai let out a powerful, desperate howl.

Wen Xusheng picked up Xiao Bai and gently kissed its forehead. “Goodbye, Xiao Bai.”

Turning around, Wen Xusheng picked up Shi Jingge and vanished from Xiao Bai’s sight.

The contract was completely severed, and Wen Xusheng bore the full brunt of the backlash alone. Xiao Bai pressed its paws against the wall, its cries growing ever more piercing.

The three-tailed cat slowly walked back to the spiritual vein.

Wen Xusheng had left several storage spaces for it, containing all the spiritual items he and Shi Jingge had ever possessed, all of which he had bequeathed to it.

The three-tailed cat knew that Shi Jingge was gone, and that Wen Xusheng wouldn’t live much longer either.

If the contract remained, it would inevitably be bound by its terms and might follow Wen Xusheng in death. That was why Wen Xusheng had insisted on severing the contract, so that the three-tailed cat could continue to live.

With the blessings of Wen Xusheng and Shi Jingge, and the items they had left behind, coupled with the three-tailed cat’s exceptional talent for absorbing spiritual energy, its cultivation level was actually quite high.

It could continue to live, live well and for a very, very long time—perhaps even long enough to see the next-next successor to the position of Peak Master of Shuixing Peak.

Perhaps later, it would meet a mate, start a family, and have a three-tailed kitten that would cling to its leg and call it “Father.” Gradually, it would forget its former human masters.

But at this very moment, it felt so lonely, so tormented, and even harbored a hint of resentment.

“Meow!”

That day, the many disciples of the Liuchong Sect all heard an extremely piercing meow.

Shi Jingge floated in midair; he tilted his head back, and tears seemed to glide from the corners of his eyes.

System 111 dared not disturb him. After an unknown amount of time, it whispered: [Congratulations, Host. The world’s rejection rating has dropped to 0.]

[Congratulations, Host. You have successfully completed the mission and earned the world’s recognition.]

Again, the rejection level was 0, and again, there was a golden glow of merit. In this world, the glow was even more intense than in the previous one.

…Was it because the Host saved so many people? System 111 wondered vaguely.

System 111 whispered: [Host, would you like to activate memory extraction mode?]

A long silence.

Just as System 111 thought Shi Jingge wouldn’t answer, he heard his hoarse voice: [No need.]

After that, Shi Jingge said nothing more, floating there quietly, like a statue, silent and stubborn.

Five days passed.

System 111 couldn’t help but say: [Host, we should head to the next world.]

Shi Jingge remained silent for a long while before lifting his head. He stared intently at the void above and slowly closed his eyes. When he opened them again, his gaze was clear and lucid.

[Let’s go,] Shi Jingge said slowly.

System 111 breathed a sigh of relief and transported him to the next world.

This was an interstellar world.

The original host was a second-year student in the intermediate division of the pharmacology[mfn] Pharmacology has evolved over the years. Originally a scientific discipline that described the overt effects of biologically active chemicals, pharmacology now explores the molecular mechanisms by which drugs cause biological effects. In the broadest sense, pharmacology is the study of how chemical agents, both natural and synthetic (i.e., drugs) affect biological systems. This encompasses investigation of the derivation, chemical properties, physiological and behavioral effects, mechanisms of action, biological transformations, and the therapeutic and non-therapeutic uses of drugs. Pharmacological studies can determine the effects of chemical agents upon subcellular, systemic, physiological or behavioral processes; focus on the treatment and prevention of diseases; or deal with the potential hazards of pesticides and herbicides.[/mfn] department at the most prestigious college in the galaxy, Kalandi[mfn]Editor: i couldn’t help it but i read this in my language and i just LOL-ed out loud. this word isn’t really something you’d just say in polite company xD when you’re with friends sure. but def not when you’re with your aunts or uncles xD[/mfn] College. He was a renowned genius and a prominent figure on campus.

He possessed exceptionally striking features, with a pair of alluring almond-shaped eyes. When he gazed at you with deep emotion, no one could remain unaffected by his gaze.

He was the heartthrob of the pharmacology department: exceptionally gifted, approachable, and poised, with every movement exuding elegance and confidence, leading people to firmly believe he must come from a good family with a privileged background.

But was that really the case? Of course not.

Of all the things listed above, only the phrase “pretty talented” was true.

But talent did not equal capability.

In reality, the original host did not come from a privileged background. He was born on a remote, small planet and was admitted to Kalandi  through special exceptions due to his talent. Because he refused to accept financial assistance from the school or the government—privacy protection was highly valued in the interstellar era—his refusal to accept these funds allowed him to fabricate his background through his demeanor and actions.

It was a heavy burden on his parents, who had to scramble every year to cover his tuition and living expenses, even risking their lives by working in illegal mines.

Last year, his father was injured while working in an illegal mine, causing some issues with his psychic abilities. Although the mine paid compensation, his father immediately transferred all the credit points to him on the spot, without seeking any medical treatment.

In less than a few months, the original owner would ask his parents for money again. They would continue to risk their lives working in illegal mines. His father, whose psyche was already compromised due to lack of treatment, suffered an accident in one. His mother ultimately died alongside him while trying to save him.

Yet all he cared about was how many credit points he could claim as compensation.

Not only was he cold-hearted and vain by nature, but he was also manipulative. He was born with a knack for building his own reputation, knew how to manipulate public opinion, and was particularly skilled at exploiting people’s emotions. Whether positive or negative, he would use them all.

In his sophomore year, he joined the student council. The credit points his parents provided were nowhere near enough to cover his expenses, and he knew there was nothing more to squeeze out of them. After they passed away, he needed a steady source of income more than ever. So, he set his sights on a group of students who came from good families, were innocent at heart, and longed for love, and began his career of nurturing a “fish pond.”

In other words, he became a playboy.

Fortunately, Shi Jingge had arrived at a decent time; there was still time to turn things around.

A pharmacist—didn’t that sound similar to an alchemist? Perhaps in this world, he could strive to become a top student.

Just then, his optical brain communicator buzzed.

Shi Jingge looked down and opened the communicator as he remembered, and several messages appeared before him.

[Senior, I had a great time this weekend. I hope we can spend next weekend together too.]

[Senior, are you free tomorrow? I have some questions I’d like to ask you.]

[Senior, the materials you recommended were really helpful. Thank you so much. Can I treat you to dinner tomorrow?]

[Senior, thank you for your help. If it weren’t for you, I really wouldn’t have known what to do. I’m not sure if you’re available, but would you like to grab dinner tonight?]

[Senior, since you’ve invited me so sincerely, I’ll accept. See you this afternoon.]

It was hard to believe that these five messages came from five different people.

And the last message made Shi Jingge rub his temples in exasperation. It seemed the original host’s journey as a “sea king[mfn]Slang for someone who is always ‘fishing’ for bed/partners. Usually have several Love Interests but always looks for the next ‘bigger fish’.[/mfn]” had already begun.

Fortunately, it was still in its early days; there was still a chance to turn things around.

The most critical thing now was this “see you this afternoon.”

Shi Jingge looked at the last message; the name felt strangely familiar.

He pulled up his optical computer, accessed the original host’s student council account, and searched for the name in the council’s internal records. Sure enough, he found some information.

[Failed physical fitness test.]

[Failed three major courses.]

[Failed two non-major courses.]

[Make-up exams on the 18th of next month. If make-up exams are not passed, retention is recommended.]

Make-up exams… retention…

Shi Jingge pondered silently, then suddenly, his eyes lit up.

Got it!

He was definitely going to be this “good” senior!

Author’s Note:

Shi Jingge: Senior, forever a senior—the kind that scares you √

I almost cried while writing about the three-tailed cat ORZ

Our cute little three-tailed cat will meet another three-tailed cat in the future. They’ll become partners, love each other dearly, and have a little princess, the most beloved cat in the entire cultivation world.

For the next world, I originally wanted to call it *Campus Heartthrob*, but now, *Sea King* sounds pretty good too.

Another world has come to an end. Let’s celebrate!
