Extra 11: Very Far, Very Long

Min Zhi loved making Fang Fengzhi bark like a little dog. The first time was just to tease him, but he hadn’t expected his Omega to actually satisfy him so obediently. Since then, things had spiraled out of control; especially in bed, when the Omega looked at him with those wet eyes and reluctantly let out a soft, limpid “woof” from his throat, it could make Min Zhi ej@culate everything into him instantly.

It was as if he had become addicted; he constantly wanted Fang Fengzhi to bark for him, and it eventually turned into a strange hobby of his.

One time, Fang Fengzhi’s company arranged a business trip that required him to be away for over a week.

He had only just left in the morning and hadn’t even stepped off the plane yet, and Min Zhi was already missing him terribly.

Fang Fengzhi’s second pregnancy resulted in a boy-girl pair of twins. Both children had quiet temperaments and weren’t as clingy as Min Hezhen, but they were still young. Min Zhi didn’t feel at ease leaving only the nanny to look after them so he went to the kindergarten early to pick up Min Hezhen.

As soon as he picked up the child and got him into the car, Min Zhi asked, “Do you miss Mommy?”

“I do!” He noisily rummaged through Min Zhi’s bag, wanting to get the phone to start a video call with his mother.

In fact, Min Zhi had just spoken to Fang Fengzhi on the phone before picking up the child, but since Min Hezhen was so clingy, he had no choice but to call again.

“Mommy!”

Min Zhi glanced in the rearview mirror. Min Hezhen was sitting in his child safety seat while happily wiggling around with the phone. Min Zhi couldn’t see the screen and could only hear the voice from the other end.

“Zhenzhen is out of school.”

“Is Daddy the one picking you up?”

“En!” The child nodded and pointed the camera toward the person in the driver’s seat.

Min Zhi heard the person on the other end laugh. He turned his head and spoke to Min Hezhen, who was practically reaching into the front seat: “Don’t do anything dangerous.”

The child made a face at him and sat back down while pouting. On the other end of the phone, Fang Fengzhi spoke up with a mild scolding, “Zhenzhen, listen to your daddy. You aren’t allowed to make faces at him.”

When Fang Fengzhi educated the children, his tone was no different from his usual voice; although he was lecturing, it didn’t sound fierce at all and felt more like a conversation. Consequently, the child wasn’t afraid of him at all and answered with a long, drawn-out voice: “I knoooow—”

Noticing Min Hezhen’s reluctant expression, Fang Fengzhi said a few more words to him. Not wanting to hear the nagging, Min Hezhen intentionally changed the subject, “Zhenzhen is very happy today!”

Fang Fengzhi smiled, not bothering to expose his little scheme: “And what did you do?”

Having switched topics so easily, the two chatted happily the whole way back.

Once they reached the villa, Min Zhi lifted the child out of the car and took the phone from his hand.

Hearing only Fang Fengzhi’s voice had made his heart itch, but seeing the Omega’s face on the video call now didn’t alleviate it in the slightest. Being able to see and hear him but not touch him made Min Zhi miss him terribly.

“Are you home now?”

“En.”

“Are you back at the hotel?” He asked.

“I am. I’m resting today, but I have things to do early tomorrow morning.”

Min Zhi set the child down and patted the back of his head, “Go open the door.”

His father rarely asked him to do anything, so hearing this, Min Hezhen felt as if he had been entrusted with a heavy responsibility and immediately ran off on his short legs.

Min Zhi didn’t follow him. Keeping an eye on the child’s back to make sure he didn’t trip, he spoke to the person on the other end: “Let me hear you.”

“What?”

Min Zhi felt a deep, restless frustration in his heart and needed something to alleviate it.

He looked at the dazed Omega and lowered his voice: “Puppy, let me hear your voice…”

Fang Fengzhi understood instantly, his face flushing a deep red. Barking a few times in bed was embarrassing enough, but being asked to do it while out and about was simply, it was too perverted…

Seeing his reluctance, Min Zhi threatened: “Let me hear it, or I’m afraid I won’t be able to hold back.”

Fang Fengzhi blinked. Hold back what?

“Hold back from going to find you.”

Fang Fengzhi was speechless, his heart thumping. He knew Min Zhi was capable of such a thing; he felt nervous yet inexplicably happy.

Min Zhi stared at Fang Fengzhi’s face on the screen without even blinking. He looked startled by the words, appearing quite dazed.

Min Zhi desperately wanted to kiss his face. He spoke: “I miss you, Fang Fengzhi.”

Fang Fengzhi’s face couldn’t get any redder. Min Zhi’s occasional confessions always made his heart race and his head spin. Thoroughly coaxed and softened, he looked left and right; even though he was clearly alone, he still felt uneasy. He scanned the room once more before finally working up the nerve to lean closer to the phone…

Min Hezhen opened the door. Noticing his father still standing frozen in place, he found it odd and called out, “Daddy!”

Only after he called out twice did his father seem to snap back to reality before looking up and slowly walking toward him.

The sound Fang Fengzhi just made sent a jolt of numbness through the top of Min Zhi’s head, but it also satisfied his craving, making his entire body feel at ease. Seeing Fang Fengzhi bury himself in the quilt in embarrassment, his exposed ears a deep, impossible red, Min Zhi suddenly chuckled, “Your call actually got me worked up.”

“You…” The screen on the other side went completely black; Fang Fengzhi couldn’t say another word. A person who was usually so serious and dignified could also be incredibly strange at times.

He was always teasing him. Every time Fang Fengzhi didn’t want to do it, Min Zhi could enchant him with just a few words until he willingly jumped into the trap, and by then, it was always too late for regrets.

He muttered toward the phone: “Hurry back and eat, I’m hanging up now.”

He was too embarrassed to even lift his head.

Min Zhi didn’t call back. Looking at the words “Recording Saved” displayed on the screen, he turned off his phone with a sense of deep satisfaction.

Min Hezhen was still standing foolishly at the villa entrance waiting for him. Seeing his father walk over, he demanded bluntly: “What were you and Mommy saying?” He looked completely resentful that the two of them were sharing secrets without him.

It seemed he felt left out.

Min Zhi found it somewhat amusing: “You certainly are a busybody.”

Seeing his son huffing in anger, he teased him: “We were talking about how you got into a fight at school today and were lectured by the teacher.”

This was actually true, and it wasn’t the first time either. Min Hezhen had a very explosive temper and his parents were constantly being summoned to the school. Initially, Fang Fengzhi thought it was just children being children, but as it happened more often, he felt a proper education was necessary. Since the boy wasn’t afraid of him, it was up to Min Zhi to step in.

Although he never laid a hand on the child, Min Zhi’s darkened expression was terrifying; a single look could scare Min Hezhen into running for his mother. Min Zhi had grown up the same way, though his temper hadn’t been quite as bad. However, since his wife wanted him to discipline the boy, he followed through.

Now that Fang Fengzhi wasn’t home, Min Hezhen was acting somewhat reckless.

When he called Fang Fengzhi that evening, Min Hezhen’s tears started falling the moment the call connected. He pouted and let the tears drop, startling Fang Fengzhi: “What’s wrong, Zhenzhen?” The boy let out a loud wail at his mother’s question, shocking the two younger ones who were sitting on the carpet playing with toys.

Min Hezhen played the victim, crying to his mother about being bullied at school and how the other party had snitched to the teacher after they fought. The more he spoke, the sadder he got and the louder he cried; it took Fang Fengzhi quite a while to soothe him.

Min Zhi knew Min Hezhen pulled this stunt every once in a while, so he ignored him and took the two sleepy younger children to their room.

Of the two, the girl was named Min Helu and the boy was called Fang Ze. Fang Ze had come out first, making him the older brother.

When the crying outside died down a bit, he looked at Helu, who still had her eyes wide open, and picked her up, “Do you want to go talk to Mommy?”

She giggled in response.

After soothing his eldest son, Fang Fengzhi felt his heart melt completely when he saw Min Zhi bring their young daughter to the screen. “Where’s Xiao Ze?”

“Asleep.”

Min Helu grabbed the phone while giggling, “Mama…”

“Ai… Lulu is such a good girl.”

Having wiped away his tears, Min Hezhen squeezed in under Min Zhi’s arm and climbed onto his father’s lap to sit. Seeing the three of them on the screen, Fang Fengzhi wanted nothing more than to go home right that second.

“I miss you all.”

Min Zhi smiled while Min Hezhen clamored in his arms, “When is Mommy coming back?”

“I’ll try my best to comeback early. Listen to Daddy, okay?”

“I know.”

Eager to get back, Fang Fengzhi returned home a night early, planning to surprise them. To his dismay, the flight was delayed, and by the time he reached the house, it was nearly midnight.

All the lights in the villa were out; even Min Zhi, who often stayed up late working, had surprisingly gone to bed early. He opened the nursery door and was surprised to find Min Zhi sleeping there with Zhenzhen. It was likely because the other two children had been a bit fussy.

Fang Fengzhi went to the master bedroom to unpack his luggage and take a shower before returning to the nursery.

He went to the cribs to check on the two youngest, unable to resist kissing their faces, and then moved quietly toward the large bed.

He had originally intended to sleep to the right of his son, but for some reason, the two had shifted so much that there was almost no room on the right while the left side was mostly empty. Fang Fengzhi had no choice but to sleep beside Min Zhi on the left.

The moment he lay down, he was pulled into an embrace.

Fang Fengzhi was startled. “You weren’t asleep?”

“I smelled your scent.” His voice was somewhat husky as he leaned into the crook of Fang Fengzhi’s neck before taking a deep breath. “You didn’t even say you were coming back.”

Fang Fengzhi smiled and wrapped his arms around the other party’s waist. After several days without being held by Min Zhi like this, he had missed it terribly.

Min Zhi pulled his son, who had just teetered on the edge, back to his side and reached out to embrace his wife, kissing his forehead. “Goodnight, good boy.”
