HTLCCBFT Chapter 111

Has The Lord’s Career Chart Been Filled Today? – Chapter 111

When Oliver released the cat-eared deity, he couldn’t help but chuckle at how dazed and confused it looked, with none of the previous melancholy and gloom remaining.

As the embrace loosened, it merely blinked rapidly without reacting.

But when Oliver tried to move his hand from its shoulder, it suddenly displayed the agility characteristic of a true feline, swiftly grasping that slender wrist.

Oliver was momentarily stunned, then smiled and tried to pull back.

He couldn’t free his hand.

He had no choice but to look at the contemplative Cat God who held his wrist motionless, smiling wryly: “My dear Cat God, could you let go of me now?”

It lowered its gaze slightly, as if trying to conceal its emotions.

Yet it didn’t realize that its twitching ears and smoothly groomed tail swaying gently from side to side had completely betrayed its good mood.

Seeing that it seemed unwilling to let go for some reason, Oliver decided not to rush it.

Considering its earlier good behavior and the fact that he still needed to coax it into doing some work… After a brief thought, he simply sat down beside it.

Feeling the slight depression of the soft bed, its grip on Oliver’s wrist unconsciously tightened.

The temperature of its ears rose sharply, and though it tried to appear nonchalant, it carefully controlled its strength to avoid hurting him.

After some thought, Oliver said with a smile: “My dear deity, under your protection, Laina has welcomed a bountiful harvest. But to better help your followers prepare for the harsh winter, I’d like to ask you to do something for me—something only you can accomplish. Would you be willing?”

It nodded without hesitation.

Pleased by its prompt agreement, Oliver felt equally delighted.

He continued letting it hold his hand while retrieving all twenty looms from his game backpack, instantly filling half of the spacious bedroom.

Not wasting the remaining space, Oliver also brought out the ten mayonnaise makers and five oil presses.

This guest room didn’t require much furnishing anyway—aside from the bed being fit for noble guests, the rest of the space was rather bare and simple.

—After all, the Cat God’s condition for cooperating was that Oliver must share the bed with it in its cat form.

Oliver wouldn’t actually be sleeping in this bedroom.

Only then did Oliver ask again: “Could you let go of me now?”

The cat-eared deity quickly glanced at the pile of machines, seeming somewhat puzzled, but reluctantly agreed to the request.

Under its watchful gaze, Oliver deftly retrieved the stored “fiber,” “sunflowers,” and “eggs” from his backpack, swiftly loading them into the mayonnaise makers, oil presses, and looms respectively.

“These are my secrets, and also divine wisdom.”

Oliver turned to face the bewildered deity, his smile radiant, his crystal-clear blue eyes sparkling with anticipation like the most beautiful gems: “Unfortunately, I cannot expose them to others, nor do I have time to wait around to collect the finished products and replenish raw materials in time…”This worry had indeed troubled Oliver for a long time.

The loom could not produce fabric immediately—it required some waiting.

In a place where time was judged solely by the ringing of bells and the position of the sun, without any precise timepiece to measure exact hours, this concept became very vague.

There were many matters to attend to on the estate, and he couldn’t stay by these machines all the time, neglecting everything else.

Yet he couldn’t simply leave the machines in a room where they might be exposed at any moment, nor could he entrust the task to anyone else.

Aside from the Cat God, this was the biggest secret he kept hidden from others.

Even when facing Fosse, whom he trusted most, he could not reveal it.

But a deity was different.

Even if he wanted to, he could never hide it from a god.

When the cat-eared deity clearly expressed the intention to follow him everywhere in human form, Oliver couldn’t help but form this idea.

If only he could trick this naive and innocent Cat God into being his little laborer.

“Great, generous, and benevolent Cat God,” the blond lord earnestly gazed at him, full of hope as he asked, “Could you please stay in this bedroom and help me produce enough fabric before winter arrives?”

What he didn’t know was that a deity who deeply loved his believer would never disappoint the one he cherished.

Realizing he could be of help to Oliver, He agreed without hesitation.

“Alright.”

He replied.

Then, as a reward, he received another sweet kiss on the tip of his ear.

His eyes narrowed slightly, as if he were a human intoxicated, feeling a bit dizzy.

But strangely, the heart that once would have soared with satisfaction from such a kiss now seemed not entirely fulfilled.

It was the dawning wisdom faintly reminding the innocent deity.

‘A real kiss shouldn’t only land on the tip of the ear.’

Hmm…

Capturing this reminder, a trace of confusion flickered in his clear golden eyes.

…Where should it land?

Oliver had no idea that this great Cat God was gradually shedding his innocence from within, nor was he aware that he was testing the edge of ‘danger.’

He stuffed all the materials stored in the warehouse into the makeshift wooden chest, then offered a few more sweet words to this easily coaxed big cat before pushing the door open and leaving.

The door had just closed.

But after taking a few steps in high spirits, Oliver sensed something amiss…

He paused.

Slightly turning his head with a hint of resignation, he indeed saw the Cat God, who had just agreed so readily, now following him out the door without hesitation.

“Why did you follow me?”

The only consolation was that the other had remembered to retract the cat ears and large tail—which would surely startle people—before stepping out.

Hearing Oliver’s question, He tilted his head in puzzlement.

Such an action, if done by a large golden cat, would appear adorably clueless. Logically, it should seem odd when performed by a grown man.

But perhaps because his aura was so pure and his appearance so handsome,

When he made such a gesture, Oliver didn’t find it awkward at all—only thought it carried a charming, handsome cuteness.

“You promised, Oliver.” He reminded with a hint of grievance. “Even without taking Fosse’s form, I can always stay with you.”

But the blond lord was quite cunning.

Seeing that the Cat God seemed about to go back on his word, Oliver—though somewhat puzzled—promptly furrowed his brow slightly and adopted a sorrowful, pitiable expression.

He remained motionless, gazing intently at the deity as if deeply troubled. “Dear Cat God, but you also promised… those machines…”

“I’ve been taking care of them,” He said with rare urgency. “I am, I am taking care of them.”

As if afraid Oliver wouldn’t believe him, he naturally took Oliver’s hand and led him back to the room they had just left.

The moment the door opened, Oliver witnessed an incredible scene that fully demonstrated the deity’s superhuman capabilities—oval coins infused with faint divine power shimmered with golden light, hopping lightly on the floor like enchanted sprites granted life.

They first gathered beside a crate to collect materials together.

Despite their numbers, each coin appeared perfectly aware of its task.

After obtaining their required materials, they quickly dispersed without any chaos.

As if prearranged, they promptly positioned themselves beside individual machines, quietly awaiting finished products while holding materials ready for loading in mid-air.

Even with the bedroom door opening, they maintained perfect order completely undisturbed.

Oliver: “……”

He stared dumbfounded, utterly convinced.

Truthfully, had his game system been complete, he could have eventually constructed so-called Sprite Towers to have adorable apple-faced sprites work for him.

They could have helped with simple tasks like watering, plowing, and harvesting crops.

What his game system could achieve, the Cat God—as a true deity—could naturally accomplish as well.

…There was no need for him to remain confined in the room all day, mechanically repeating harvesting and loading tasks, nor risk falling into the state Oliver once experienced— addicted to charcoal burning, unfortunate enough to collapse.

“You’re truly amazing, my dear *&%&%.”

Unable to help himself, Oliver crouched down and watched the adorable golden coins for a while before sighing sincerely.

Truly worthy of being the fortune cat statue, the bona fide God of Wealth.

—Humans are slaves to money.

—And money is his slave.

He blinked in confusion.

Though unsure why such simple actions had earned praise from his beloved worshipper again…

It didn’t hinder his happiness in the slightest.

His divine power had grown increasingly stronger.

Though these minor manifestations containing minimal fragments of his power possessed no intelligence, they could perform simple tasks quite competently.

Wanting to make Oliver happier—and craving rewards—he pondered briefly before crouching down beside Oliver.

When Oliver looked over, He asked with unconscious eagerness, “Oliver, is there anything else you need me to do?”

Before Oliver could speak, he casually suggested as if by random thought: “I could have them help Oliver pet those chicks and pigs, and even harvest the crops.” This way, He wouldn’t have to watch Oliver personally handle those annoying little animals every day.

Seduced by the offer, Oliver painfully closed his eyes for a moment.

So capable of discerning human laziness, so skilled at tempting him with the convenience he most desired… was this a deity or a demon?

“Thank you very much for your kindness, but that won’t be necessary.”

Thinking about his incomplete profession compendium, plus the impossibility of making all Laina residents lose their memories, and not wanting to encourage the lazy mentality of getting something for nothing, Oliver quickly resisted this powerful temptation.

Though it was truly adorable and capable.

Still not acceptable.

Laboring people are the most beautiful, and hardworking hands are the strongest.

After spending a moment reinforcing his determination to develop Laina through the most stable and down-to-earth path, Oliver no longer lingered in the room.

Before leaving, he only instructed the Cat God to seal the door with divine power, lest any servant accidentally enter and suffer a fright.

The current priority was to continue buying wool, selling fabric, and purchasing cheap cloth…
