The bar on the fourth floor of the ‘Invincible Castle’ had dim lighting, with canopied two- and three-seater sofas arranged irregularly around a central rectangular fountain. Tall tropical plants grew lushly, giving the place a tropical ambiance.
A sweet fragrance, like ripe fruit, wafted through the air. Mixed with this scent, there was likely a hint of cannabis or other illegal substances.
After seating Kagura on a nearby two-seater sofa close to the fountain, Zero went to the bar counter to get drinks.
Kagura lifted the sheer fabric that draped diagonally from the canopy and surveyed the room.
About sixty percent of the sofas within his view were occupied. Across the fountain, on a three-seater sofa, were some silhouettes. As Kagura squinted to observe them, his throat involuntarily tightened.
There were two women and one man. Their bodies intertwined, and one of the women’s pale thighs swayed.
“Was a Kamikaze okay?”
Zero, having returned, placed two rock glasses on the low table as he spoke.
Sitting down next to him, Kagura asked in a restrained voice.
“What kind of bar is this?”
“Haven’t you ever been to a ‘happening bar’?”
“…I’ve been in one, yes,” he replied, recalling his experience there as an investigator on a bust.
“Did you enjoy it at the time?”
He took a sip of the Kamikaze, with its lime scent. The strong vodka-based cocktail burned warmly down his throat.
“Somewhat, I suppose.”
A foreign crime syndicate had been running a prostitution ring under the guise of a ‘happening bar’, which had led to quite a significant bust. As he remembered the thrill of that capture, he felt his cheeks soften slightly, but Zero scowled and lowered his lips with displeasure. Then, raising his Kamikaze in a toast, Zero wrapped an arm around Kagura’s waist.
“In that case, enjoy yourself tonight, too.”
“Stop with the nonsense—”
Kagura’s words were cut off as Zero’s thick lips pressed over his, licking along his lips with a strong tongue.
“Gah.”
Shocked, Kagura tried to push him away, but Zero leaned in with his weight. Half-reclining on the sofa, Kagura was pinned down as Zero whispered a warning in his ear.
“Don’t cause a scene, no matter what. Close your eyes. You don’t want to get thrown out, do you?”
Zero’s eyes and mouth, peeking from beneath his mask, bore a lustful smile. In fact, Zero was already aroused, his lower abdomen pressing hard against Kagura’s thigh.
“Why… are you like this…?”
As Kagura murmured reproachfully, Zero’s hand slid down to Kagura’s lower abdomen, caressing him through his slacks. To his dismay, Kagura realised he, too, was becoming aroused.
“You got excited during Renjou’s match too, didn’t you?”
“….”
Zero muttered, fondling him through the fabric.
“It’d be more suspicious if we did nothing here, wouldn’t it?”
He supposed that was true.
“I’ll act the part.”
As he wiped off what had gotten on his suit, Kagura shot Zero a sharp glare from under his mask.
“Spit out that information. Now.”
Zero, still savouring the aftermath, toyed with his still half-hard length as he leaned into Kagura’s ear.
“The owner of ‘Invincible Castle’ is sheltering Toono in Singapore.”
Kagura held his breath at this unexpectedly big revelation.
“…The owner is Li Azhar, right?”
A man with Singaporean nationality, who had made his fortune operating casinos across the globe. Rumour had it that he bore the blood of five different countries, his origins and identity shrouded in mystery.
“Yeah. Putting your body on the line was worth it, wasn’t it?”
As much as it annoyed him, Kagura couldn’t deny it.
Zero always inflicted an excessive level of stimulation on both his body and mind.
It was like being addicted to a powerful and dangerous drug.
“Want to go for another round?”
Leaving the still-exposed Zero to his own devices, Kagura stood up from the sofa.
“There’s still thirty minutes. I’ll go investigate.”
He threw a dismissive glance back over his shoulder as he spoke.
By the time he exited the bar, Zero had caught up and walked beside him. As they left the bar’s intoxicating scent of ripe fruit behind, Kagura caught a faintly bitter aroma wafting from beside him. It was the scent of the cologne Zero always wore.
Perhaps it was because neither of them had fully calmed down yet.
Zero’s scent was stronger than usual, continuing to provoke Kagura’s senses.

*Translator’s Note: Zero is really the jealous type. Kagura didn’t go to a ‘happening bar’ to do the deeds, Zero. But, oh well, we got the spicy scene because of the misunderstanding so I’m not complaining… 😏 -K
