Chapter 54: The Omega in the Bedroom
A clap of thunder sounded from outside the window, and the bedroom door was opened again.
The moment Qin Luzhi entered, he saw Shen Bumian with his hair in disarray, half of his body lying on his bed.
The black bedsheets made the omega appear even paler.
And perhaps because of the sudden fall, Shen Bumian had subconsciously grabbed onto something, leaving the bedsheet beneath his hand wrinkled.
His panicked eyes looked up at the person who had just entered the doorway. Qin Luzhi felt his mouth go a little dry. He swallowed and averted his gaze.
Shen Bumian stared with wide, helpless eyes at Qin Luzhi, not understanding how the situation had suddenly turned into this.
Shen Bumian’s face flushed beet red as he shot up to his feet, not daring to look up at the Alpha who had just entered. But when he looked down, he saw the wet spot on the bed.
Shen Bumian’s heart pounded violently, leaving him even more at a loss.
When Qin Luzhi came in and saw Chen Shuang there, he roughly knew what had happened. But he saw the helpless and obviously shy Shen Bumian.
He just raised an eyebrow and didn’t speak, leaning lazily against the wall.
After watching Shen Bumian’s flustered state for a while, Qin Luzhi reined it in a little.
“Ahem, I’m sorry. It was my oversight. I should have settled you in properly before going to deliver the chip.”
Qin Luzhi had used his ability and quickly delivered the chip to Shen Yi.
At the time, Shen Yi had been very surprised to see the soaking wet Qin Luzhi, and had faintly guessed that the heavy rain had allowed his little brother to run into him.
Shen Yi knew the location of the Qin residence; it was on the direct path to his place.
Shen Yi had thanked him faintly and boarded his starship directly, not looking at the Alpha who had turned and run back into the rain. The umbrella was no longer necessary.
The rain was simply too heavy, and besides, Qin Luzhi was already soaked.
Qin Luzhi pulled his thoughts back to the present, opened the wardrobe, took out a set of clothes, and then walked into the bathroom.
Shen Bumian looked at Qin Luzhi’s wet clothes and thought he was going to take a shower. Wouldn’t it be inappropriate for me to be here then?
“It’s ready. Can you make do with my clothes for now?”
After adjusting the water temperature, Qin Luzhi asked for Shen Bumian’s opinion. Shen Bumian followed his gaze to the clothes that had just been taken out.
Huh? They’re for me to wear? But…
However, Shen Bumian’s own clothes were indeed a bit damp, sticking uncomfortably to his skin.
“Wearing wet clothes makes it easy to catch a cold. Go take a hot shower. I’ll go find some medicine for you.”
Shen Bumian hesitated. An omega’s body was indeed weaker, and it was very possible for him to catch a cold and run a fever. Not to mention his own particular constitution.
Shen Bumian nodded and turned to enter the bathroom.
The sound of rustling clothes was heard, followed by the dripping of water.
The bathroom was not made of glass but was concealed by a door, so nothing could be seen.
Qin Luzhi forced himself to shift his focus. After shooing Chen Shuang out, he went downstairs to find medicine.
Shen Bumian was naturally frail; he needed to take some medicine as a precaution.
After finding the medicine, Qin Luzhi did not go back upstairs. He sat on the sofa and waited, unconsciously scrolling through his terminal, trying not to think about Shen Bumian.
Upstairs, Shen Bumian’s hand, which was buttoning his shirt, paused. Qin Luzhi had found a black shirt and a pair of black casual pants for him.
He finally remembered what had felt wrong just now. He had only gotten a small spot wet, while Qin Luzhi was soaked from head to toe.
It seemed that Qin Luzhi needed a change of dry clothes more than he did. Shen Bumian felt a pang of regret. It seemed that whenever he was with Qin Luzhi, he had gotten used to being taken care of.
Shen Bumian felt a little ashamed that he hadn’t even thought of that.
The Qin residence probably has other public bathrooms, right? Qin Luzhi should have already changed by now.
However, this thought was overturned when Shen Bumian went down to the second floor, because Qin Luzhi was still sitting on the sofa, completely soaked, and seemed to be lost in thought.
“Y-you’ve been sitting here this whole time?”
Shen Bumian’s voice brought Qin Luzhi back to his senses. He looked up at the young man at the top of the stairs and immediately stood up to grab a glass of water.
The water had just been poured and was now lukewarm.
Qin Luzhi went upstairs with the glass of water and medicine and handed them to Shen Bumian, who took the medicine with a complicated expression.
When handing over the glass, Qin Luzhi was very careful not to touch Shen Bumian’s hand. He knew his own hands were very cold right now.
While Shen Bumian was taking the medicine, Qin Luzhi looked down at him. The omega was now wearing his shirt, and his fair skin seemed to glow.
He was suddenly reminded of a post on the star-net, something about omegas wearing their boyfriends’ shirts.
Qin Luzhi had never seen that post; it was just mentioned in passing by another Alpha in his team. At the time, he had scoffed at it in his heart.
Could the same piece of clothing really have a different effect when worn by different people? It’s just a matter of whether it fits or not.
But now, Qin Luzhi’s gaze was unreadable. He felt a great deal of disdain for his past self. He had truly been too young and ignorant.
Because right now, he was being captivated by Shen Bumian. He didn’t even want to look away. He wanted to personally take off the shirt that belonged to him.
Qin Luzhi felt that Alphas were truly no good people, and now he belonged to that category of not-good-person Alphas.
Qin Luzhi’s throat went dry again. After Shen Bumian finished, he snatched the glass, went downstairs, and placed it on the table.
That feeling came again. Shen Bumian felt that Qin Luzhi was acting strangely, but he couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was.
He felt it was necessary to remind him, “Qin Luzhi, your clothes are still wet. You should go change quickly.”
Qin Luzhi took a deep breath and looked down at his still-dripping clothes. His brain finally started working again. He should have gone to take a shower just now instead of sitting on the sofa in a daze.
Qin Luzhi went to find another set of clothes. He told Shen Bumian to wait for him in the room. He went to the public bathroom on the third floor.
Because the omega had just been in his bathroom, if he got even a little closer, he could smell the faint scent of pheromones that Shen Bumian had unintentionally released.
The scent wasn’t strong, but for Qin Luzhi, it was as if his senses had been magnified.
That tiny bit of scent was incredibly alluring.
The compatibility of our pheromones is very likely over ninety percent, he thought.
Perhaps this is good news? Qin Luzhi wondered.
Shen Bumian was unaware of Qin Luzhi’s wandering thoughts. He looked at the pile of things Qin Luzhi had placed on the table: a game console, books, and many snacks.
Qin Luzhi had just told Chen Shuang to bring these up from downstairs.
Shen Bumian was now sitting in the chair at the desk, not near the bed. He casually picked up the game console to play.
There were many types of games on the First Planet. Shen Bumian didn’t play much, but holding it in his hands now, his curiosity was piqued. He started a game directly.
But he died very quickly. A strange competitive spirit arose in Shen Bumian, and he started several more rounds in a row.
Unsurprisingly, he died quickly each time, but he was finally getting the hang of it. He figured he should be able to win the next round.
The moment he pressed the start button, a numbness shot through his fingertip, and his first move was a mistake.
Shen Bumian paid it no mind and continued playing. Perhaps his attention was entirely focused on the game.
Even Shen Bumian himself didn’t notice the gradually thickening pheromones in the air, nor did he notice his own swelling glands.
His vision was getting a little blurry. The hand holding the game console was gradually losing its strength, and his pale fingertips unconsciously tightened their grip on the edge of the console.
A delayed feeling of discomfort washed over Shen Bumian.
